I sort of had one three years ago. I actually had a reduction/lift in which they removed 6.23 pounds of mammory tissue (weight loss would not have helped in my case.) My breasts were so heavy that I was suffercating at night and couldn't excercise to lose the weight, so I decided to go for it in an effort to get healthy
For me, the cost was roughly $900 BUT my insurance picked up about $14,000. I suspect a lift alone would cost less and insurance won't cover it. If you are still large busted, talk to your GP, insurance will usually cover the surgery and really, all you need to do is complain about back pain. It is almost a win every time with almost no headache. Heck, I just went to the plastic surgeon and by passed my GP and STILL got approved!
Scars are along natural contours and after about a year, you have to be up close to see them as they are hidden (unless of course YOU are looking at YOUR body, you will always see them.
)
I now have a super sensitive left nipple and a more or less "dead" right nipple. It is still there, it is healthy, but I have nerve damage and can't feel anything but intense itching sometimes.
If you have to have any kind of liposuctin at all (they only removed .23 pounds of fat from my breasts) it hurts like holy ****. THAT was the worst part for me. I was bruised for 6 weeks and so freaking tender.
Recovery is anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks on average. Risks are similar to those of gallbaldder removal, very minimal. It is out patient. Surgery can be anywhere from 1-3 hours. Staph is always a possibility as it is with any surgery, so make sure to use their scrubby thingies...unless they don't give them to you, such as in my case, and I ended up with MRSA, but I have a history of MRSA, so that was to be expected, kind of.
All in all, BEST FREAKING DECISION EVER!!!
