4 weeks ago I was up 2 pounds, next week I was down 5.6 pounds, the following week I was up 11.6 pounds, skipped a week, then today down 10 pounds. I know I lost the week that the scale said 5.6 pounds but I know I didn't lose that much. And I also don't believe I gained 11.6 in a week. The staff keeps asking ME what I'M doing but I'm not doing anything. Then they asked if I was on medication to which I replied, "No but maybe I should be?"
All total I've dropped 39 lbs. Anyone else got the yo yo scale thing going on? Any idea what causes it? And yes, i got on multiple scales to see if they read the same and they did.
same clothes, same time, the week i jumped to 11.6 I didnt eat as clean but not 11.6 lbs worth. I try to drink water all the time so I don't think i'm dehydrated but I know I didn't get in as much the 11.6 week as usual.
Do you have a scale at home? Maybe get one and trying a daily weigh in to see what might be going on.
Also, how much do you weigh? The scale will fluctuate more the more you weigh, but 11 pounds is kind of crazy!
TOM was done the first of the 11 + week but I have also never had scale fluctations at TOM before. According to the scale today I'm at 161.
I'm afraid to have a scale in my home. In the past when I have one at home, I weigh in and if the scale is up I get so freaked out I end up falling off plan and giving up. This is the longest I've stuck with a healthier way of living and I think a part of it is that I don't have that scale staring at me every day.
Nuts I know but, hey you gotta know your weaknesses as well as your strengths.

That's a low weight to have such huge changes. Have you analyzed your foods to see if there is a pattern to the changes? Had your thyroid checked lately?
I'm the queen of scale yo-yo but 11lbs is a LOT for someone at your weight. Sometimes when my scale is low on batteries it tells me I weigh 95 lbs... or 215 lbs. Uhhh not so much!
I do WW at a center. Don't have a scale at home. Having one at home has never worked for me in the past - i get too focused on it and get off track doing what i'm supposed to be doing.
Unless the WW scales are calibrated wrong, that's definitely concerning.
I remember when I was pregnant I ate the healthiest of my life. (Up to that point.) But one week, I ate a whole bag of Pepperidge Farm Double Chocolate Milano cookies and I gained 7+ lbs.
Did you have any type of splurge food like that? Or something/s very high in sodium? That might have had you retaining more fluid than usual...
I hope it was just a flukey thing and you get back to normal soon.
I've had a couple extreme weigh-ins like that, I'm down 11 pounds but the next week I'm up 10.8, so it averaged out. But my fluctuations are 5# lose, 5.2 gain, 4.5 loss, 3.8 gain, 2 gain. 0.2 loss, 0.2 loss, then 3 gain. So I have to look at total pounds lost instead. The weekly flucuations drive me crazy. I think mine is due to salt issues. At least I do have something to blame it on.
I always thought the most accurate weight was naked, first thing in the morning, before breakfast, and after your 1st trip to the bathroom. If you were to weigh in the evening and fully dressed then the scale could change a lot based on just what you ate that day for breakfast, snacks, lunch, your drinks, etc. My weight is consistant at home in the morning everyday (keeps me accountable) and I know that fluctuations are normal due to water retention, salt intake, etc but if I have an afternoon doc appointment after I eat and fully clothed it can be up to 10 lbs higher than that mornings reading....even though each morning it is relatively the same and moving down slowly.
