It goes from the high number. Your range is 5 points, so if you don;t eat your entire range, you get to bank those extra points. Example: say your range is 22-27. If you eat 25 points one day, you get to bank 2 points (27-25=2). The maximum food points you can bank in one day is 5. If you eat less than 22 (which you shouldn't do!), you only get to bank 5 points (If you had 18 pts, you can't bank 9 pts [27-18], only 5).
You are allowed to use up to 10 banked points in one day. Any banked points you have at the end of the week are gone. However, if you use a rolling banked system, each day's banked points are good for 7 days (not an official WW policy).
