Have you guys ever heard of this? I'm about to start a calorie contest at my gym. I'm supposed to purchase their heart rate monitor (a polar) and download the calories I burn. I'm all for competitions, anything to keep me motivated I joined a 10 week fitness challenge (weight loss) that I unbelievably won!!! I understand I won't win every competition, but I love (and need) the challenge anyhow.
Has anyone done this before, how did it go for you?
I can't figure out what a "calorie challenge" might be. How does this work? I guess anything that keeps us motivated is a good thing, but this seems like a way to sell heart rate monitors. Can you tell us more?
Lin, yeah I guess i'm learning more about it too. It's about whoever Burns more calories in the end.. And i'm not sure how long it lasts. But polar heart rate monitors have great reviews, so I figure having one can only improve my workouts. I've never heard of this contest before, was hoping someone in 3fc land had done it before and can shed more light, but I guess I'll have to wait for more info from gym..
