Default Spot bleeding for over a month now...

I just thought I'd post about this here and see if any of you ladies with PCOS can help me.

I'm 23 years old, have had PCOS since I was around 14, and since then have never had regular periods. About a month ago I started spot bleeding -- very small amounts every day; a pinkish, red or even a brown period-like discharge. Apart from a couple of days break, this has been continung for well over a month now. I'm starting to get worried.

I've seen a doctor about this but she doesn't understand PCOS and this is a small town. I don't have a chance of getting in to see another doctor. I don't know what to do.

What could be causing this? Should I be really worried?

Have you had a hormone panel done?

I'd suspect that -- not enough hormones running in balance to produce the full on menstrual shed. I'm not a doc though -- I'm just talking from my own spotting experience and what it turned out to be.

What was the doc? A general practice person or endoc or OB/GYN? To be honest? I like my gp a WHOLE lot more than my specialists. But for some it is the flip. So if you tried one, try the other.

And get a hold of "It's my Ovaries Stupid" and/or "The Savvy Woman's Guide to PCOS" by Elizabeth Vliet. She gets way deep into the hormones and explains a lot of things in a way that's readable.

HTH!

Thanks for your reply.

I haven't had my hormones done in about a year -- back then they were in a normal range but I still had PCOS symptoms! Grrr!

I think it's something to do with hormones too. I'm going to hound the doctor's for an appointment tomorrow and go get some blood tests. I'm fairly sure PCOS is adversely affecting my weight loss, too, so I want to get some sort of treatment.

I hate PCOS!
