Actually most buffets are large quantities of high calories, low quality food. I too used to be tempted by buffet food until I realized this. Now it's a very rare occasion indeed that I go to them and when I do I pick a nice piece of chicken, some non starchy vegtables and if they have good fresh fruit I have some of that along with one small dessert.

We went 2 weekends ago. I did the salad thing. Used to do a couple of plates of crap..mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, nachos with cheese, and then do the desserts. When I look at foods now I see calories...lol.

Unless you're going to an expensive, high-end buffet like the one at Wynn, I've noticed that most of the buffets here in Vegas are all alike (especially at the Station casinos). I always hit the salad bar first and get plenty of spinach and other veggies. I'll hit the fresh fruit next, and after that I'll look for an entree that doesn't look so bad and have a small helping, hopefully by then I'm relatively full from the healthier trips. Oh, and a lot of them now have no-sugar-added desserts sitting next to the regular ones. :)

I've been to one buffet in my entire life and was not impressed. it promotes binge eating and its incredibly unhealthy. just because there's one on they corner doesn't mean you need to eat at one!

I survived my trip to **** lol! Lots of salad, fruit and sugar free desert. Picked at some corn beef and cabbage, mac and cheese and a couple of spring rolls.

I love buffets especially Asian buffets! Lots of vegetables and fish! My favorite things to eat when going out now! Sushi rolls and steamed vegetables, shrimp, and salmon. :D
