Hello, My name is Yvonne and i am also new here. I am struggling with being over weight. About a couple years ago i had a baby.. I went from 185lbs to now 255lbs that is 70lbs of baby fat and i have been searching for a website that will help me loose the weight without completely driving me crazy with calories and carbs intake!!! My goal is to atleast loose 60lbs to 100lbs I'd love to loose 100lbs. Since i have gained this weight i have been really self conscience and not happy with my life. So if there is anyone out there that can give me some pointers on where to start my "Body Makeover" I would greatly appreciate it!!
Hi Yvonne and welcome to 3fc! When I started my weight loss journey on January 20th this year I weighted 255 lbs too! So far, I have lost about 75 pounds and I feel great.
When I started I didn't have a plan. I started going to the gym on a consistent basis and then I started writing down what I was eating, and making healthier choices. This evolved into calorie counting and has been working wonderfully for me.
There are many online calculators that you can use to find suggested calorie intake if that is the way you decide to go. There are also lots of online sites where you can log your food intake. I use caloriecount.com, it is free.
You will find what works for you. There are so many different approaches. Look around at the different forums and post your questions. The fact that you are here and want to make positive changes is the first step. You can do this .... so get to it!!
WELCOME to 3FC. You'll find a great bunch of people here on a variety of plans and in EVERY weight range. My advice, find something you can stick to. If you hate it every day, you won't be able to keep going. I calorie count and it works for me and my busy lifestyle. Remember, one day at a time, one meal at a time, one pound at a time.
