WW At Home - getting back on the wagon without meetings

11-13-2011, 04:29 AM
hey all.
i have battled weight issues practically my entire life.
i first joined weight watchers when i was 11 years old.
since then, i have rejoined too many times to count.

i know weight watchers is a solid program that is realistic.
i love weight watchers.
we are on a super tight budget so i can't afford a membership right now.
luckily, i was attending meetings when points plus came out, so i have the materials i need to succeed.
i also made myself a tracker in excel, so that will be a helpful tool.

i'm hoping to find support here, and give some in return.

So sorry you had to come back, but we have all been there! I too am doing it at home and use an app for android on my phone and track at fatsecret dot com and am doing fine. I too can't afford the current prices in this economy so doing the best we can. I get support on a few forums and an email buddy. You can do it and welcome back.

11-13-2011, 12:43 PM
Well you came to the right place :) We're all in the same position and are doing it at home. If you want an email buddy we could swap emails. I have another email ww friend and she's helped me stay accountable plus she cracks me up! let me know and good luck restarting...i am too!

11-13-2011, 01:45 PM
thanks for the welcomes.
today is day one.
i'm a little nervous.

11-13-2011, 07:16 PM
Aww don't be...bet ya did great! hope to see you checked back in tonight to see how things went. i've over ate almost half of my daily points. small dinner for me! :op

11-13-2011, 08:53 PM
I am also starting over after a few years of overeating and gaining back ALL the weight I had lost plus an extra pound or two :o

This site is great and I agree that an email buddy is great too. I have a few email buddies and it's great. They are funny (like make you laugh out loud funny ;) ) Definitely helps when you have people who know what it's like to struggle with weight loss....

so goodluck with your journey and look forward to getting to know you!!!!

I simply don't have the money to join WW... I use to go and the support was wonderful... Now, instead of sharing my diet woes with the WW group, I confide in a couple of friends that truly care about my progress.. I also use "self-talk" - This is when I talk out loud to myself when I am craving sweets or other foods. It works!

This web site is the absolutely best place for support at home and the price is right! Thank God for 3fc! The stories, pictures, and information is a big source of my support..

Hang in there - stick to this site and you should be fine. :D

thanks a lot, lisa and mandi.
it's great to have people that know what the struggles are like.

glad to be here with you guys!!

11-13-2011, 09:44 PM
Believe in yourself, you can do it! :)

11-14-2011, 05:27 PM
I am a bit slow to welcome you but great job on jumping back on the wagon! This is a great place for support. The chicks here have held my hand through the good, bad and ugly.

Please post often

i hope to post often.

Hi anawhatsme :) glad to see you came back so how was today and yesterday point wise? I messed up over the weekend and ate like half of my flex points so now I'm paying for it. Yesterday and today I have felt starving...not really sure why since I've been eating a ton of veggies but it seems like 22 pts is such a small amount, but,oh well! My tummy will get used to it.

Here's to a better tomorrow!!

11-15-2011, 05:37 AM
hey laura.
i am finished day 2 and it's going well.
i only have 18 weekly points left though.
and 2 activity points so far.
so i will have to be careful the rest of the week.

i find i'm really hungry today as well.
i'm wondering if it has anything to do with my period, or if it's just my body getting used to this change.

what day do you weigh in?

11-18-2011, 06:50 PM
Hey anawhatsme: so how'd your week end up? i weighed in this morning and only lost 1/2 a lb so I was kind of bummed but then thought of what dee said in another post about the sticks of butter and no longer feel bad. I hope all is well! What day do you weigh in?

11-21-2011, 01:29 AM
today was my weigh in for week one.
had a rocky week.
i lost 1.2.
hopefully i will do better on plan this week.

thanks for asking!

11-21-2011, 05:54 PM
Good for you! I also am going to do WW at home with leftover WW stuff from when my Mom was on it. I'm hoping to start tomorrow... but I'm scared, as this is Thanksgiving week! :P

11-21-2011, 07:40 PM
special occasions are difficult.
you can get through it if you are prepared.
are you going out to dinner or any events where there may be hard to resist foods?
i think it helps if you have something to eat before you go to things like that.
you can do it.

11-22-2011, 01:53 AM
Hiya peoples, i too am restarting , but doing it at home, No $$'s. gald too see other people like myself. Planing on doing flex, when I can find that place where they had all the ponts listed. Went to my first WW meeting when I was 18, been off and on it ever since, have put on just over 8kg in the last 7 months through giving up smoking, time to take it off again. Hope to hear from you all. Mary

11-22-2011, 03:36 PM
Well chickies it looks like you are all off to a good start :carrot:

I do flex at home since I don't have the $$ too. You all are right this might be a tough week with the holiday but I am going to try something a bit different to get me through.....bring my own small plate to the table then do the divide rule....half plate non starch veggies, 1/4 plate protien (yum turkey) the other 1/4 bread/starch --and the biggie no second on anything other than than the good veggies!

I will survive!

11-23-2011, 05:57 AM
hey all.
nice to see some new 'faces' in this thread.

maryL -
congratulations on quitting smoking.
i quit in february and i allowed myself to put weight loss on the back burner.
i think it's important to fight one battle at a time.
now that you have had many non smoking months behind you, it's a great time to face the weight battle.
i wish you well!!

nancylmrn -
it's great that you have an action plan for the holiday.
i really believe preparation plays a huge role in being successful.
you can get through it!

i am about half way into week 2 and i'm feeling great!
i have earned 15 activity points so far this week.
that's really something for me because i am quite inactive.
one of my goals for this journey is to become an active person.
i don't just want to lose weight - i want to be fit and active.

i hope everyone is doing well and feeling strong.
i will check in soon.

11-23-2011, 12:50 PM
When I was doing WW purely online and not going to meetings I found it really hard to stay on track. For me it was important to have a weigh in somewhere else and I found the group meeting helped me stay on track. (Not everyone needs any of that of course).

I am now going to WW meetings but if I was in a situation where I couldn't or the budget didn't work I think I would try finding a TOPS meeting nearby. That is very low cost and you can use whatever eating program you want (which could be WW) but might help get back on track.

11-23-2011, 06:08 PM
i know someone that went to our local tops meeting.
she said they were very off track.
weight loss/support wasn't the focus of their meetings she told me.
maybe i will hunt around to see if there are any other tops meetings in my area.
good idea.

11-26-2011, 03:25 AM
lol still looking for that points list. The first week back wasn't a flying start, but a small loss is better tha none I guess.Hope you are all doing well.
