If your clothing is fitting better I am tempted to go for the easiest answer: your measurements were wrong the first time. Or perhaps not consistent with measuring style this time around.
You know you are losing weight on the scale and in the clothing so that is good!
I wish I had some great words of wisdom for you. You know you are making progress if you jeans are falling off. I too took measurements for the heck of it and in the past two months have not lost any inches. Hang in there. You are doing great!!!
Also, maybe you measured in a different location than you did two months ago. Like the upper waist vs lower waist and hips are always tricky to measure.
If your jeans are falling off then I'd say you've definitely lost inches. Perhaps your measurements were off last time? Either way, you've definitely lost so WoooHooo!!!
I think that when you are measuring yourself, there is just huge room for error. I'm surprised you "lost nothing", though. I mean, you know you lost something so... I've never quite understood the whole pounds and inches thing.
The others have a point, if the jeans are "falling off" then something is smaller... I actually take notes on the exact location of where I measure :P I have a beauty spot on my arm, so the tape measure always goes over that, I also measure 2cm under my belly button, etc. Besides, at the end of the day, you are losing weight and your clothes are looser, trash the measuring tape :P

My thoughts exactly. If you jeans are looser then you have lost inches! Congrats.
I hate to be the Debbie Downer in this thread, but have any of you considered that she may be losing muscle instead of fat. Yes, there may be room for error in measurements, but there would have to be a lot of error in her measurements if she has lost 15 pounds in the past two months and has not seen any movement in her measurements. 4myself also does not mention how her jeans fit when she took her measurements in September, so I am not certain how relevant their fit is now. To me, inches are more important than the scale. It means that my body is getting slimmer and healthier. Are you exercising during your weight loss journey? If not, I would start. That way, you will be losing weight AND inches and will also improve your health. Once again, sorry for my Debbie Downer post, but I hate to hear that someone is losing weight but not inches. It usually means that they may not be losing weight the healthy way, which may not be the case for 4myself but may also be something she needs to consider.

I agree I didn't want to be the downer so that's why I posted the article So thanks princessgina I agree too, the first thing that came to mind was that she's losing muscle instead of fat.

I read the responses and the article. I'm adhering to a low carb/high protien diet, so I don't think it's lack of protien causing muscle loss.
I could very well, though, be lack of exercise. From around the 1st of August I was (literally) walking my butt off in a very hilly area; then, when I actively started MEASURING myself, it was the day before I began Jillian Michels biggest loser 6 wk video program. During that week I lost a total of (if I'm remembering correctly) 30-something inches over my whole body. September was my last measure-taking.
I'm still walking, although more sporadically since it's getting darker earlier and the DH and kiddos "need" me, but I haven't been doing any kind of toning exercises.
It doesn't "shock" me to realize some of the firmness I had developed while exercising has left--I don't know why I didn't come to that conclusion on my own
BUT--I'm glad I'm still losing pounds, just now I know I need to get back on the exercise wagon and stop relying on the low carb/high protien WOE.
Thanks to everyone who responded!! I hope this will help someone else!
This is one reason I refuse to take any measurements. Every time I do I end up measuring incorrectly or in a slightly different way or a slightly different place, and I end up with skewed results. In my opinion, measuring inches can be just as flawed as measuring pounds on the scale.
If your clothes fit better, that's all you need to know!
