Default Freezing Fresh Herbs

I have some lovely rosemary and thyme in pots in my back yard. I was going to freeze them when it gets closer to winter. Have you frozen fresh herbs before, and if you did, how do they come out of the freezer? I would think they would get mushy. Anyone have advice on this?
