As we all realize, our success in loosing weight or not depends entirely on our leader, our motivator, our cult idol. I still have a big butt. I, for one, am disappointed in this outcome.

Darling_Peaches 01-10-2003, 05:43 PM As we all realize, our success in loosing weight or not depends entirely on our leader, our motivator, our cult idol. I still have a big butt. I, for one, am disappointed in this outcome. Darling_Peaches 01-10-2003, 05:48 PM Kiwi, I'm sorry to hear about the business there. I'm glad though that you can post about it here and unload. Love you. PeachieSqueechie Lush 01-10-2003, 08:46 PM Kiwi, this is such a bummer. Not just about the job, also about the possibility of having your DH home all day long. Is he talking about the three of you getting on the sailboat and seeing the world? This is a good time to get a new car. It will cheer things up. I'm pretty movitated. I seriously thought about exercise; not just once, but several times today. I ate properly. I had energy. I slept well. I am channeling June. My butt's still the same size, though. XXOO Kiwonk 01-10-2003, 11:40 PM We went out to dinner with other idle employees and commiserated. DH has been drowning his sorrows all evening  . But on a brighter note, we got a car!! DH brought home a '99 Explorer (before he started drowning his sorrows :dizzy: ) -- Yay!!! It's got all the extras my old one had, but it's 2 years more recent. Price was right, too. :cp: I have been soooo good with my exercise videos. :barbell: Have not missed a day yet. Supposed to take one day off a week, and I guess that will be tomorrow -- we are going to a U. of Maine hockey game with some friends and then staying over at their house. Try kickboxing, Peaches. That'll get your butt in gear.... :dancer: Kiwi Lush 01-11-2003, 08:44 AM I'm off to DS12 basketball, then DS10 hockey, then DS 10 basketball. I will be watching all this exercise, in fact making possible much of this exercise. Kiwi, exercise guru, does it count??????? Should I drive DD 1 hour, each way, a week for better vocal instruction? I doubt I have any clothes clean. That is a problem, isn't it? Kiwonk 01-11-2003, 12:22 PM You ask a lot of questions for someone from New Jersey. Haha! I finally got to say that to someone from the right state! I have a cat walking across my keyboard. She is trying to deposit cat hairs into my salad and lick salad dressing off my fingers. Yes, of course, watching all this sporting activity is very good for your metabolism. 3 games = 3 exercise videos, plus extra calories expended for making it all happen. Driving your DD back and forth to voice lessons will also be a good bonding experience. I can say that because I do the same thing every week. Sometimes I send DH. Fathers and daughters have to bond too. Tonight I'm watching college students play hockey. They always have a very good hockey team here in Maine. So I'm thinking that watching such good players will be extra good exercise, dontcha think? Probably balance off all that pizza and beer I'm going to consume, eh? Later, all you hot chicks. Kiwi Wabby 01-11-2003, 12:43 PM Kiwi, what a major bummer about the mill. We have a mill here in town too, that has been on shaky standing for several years, but things have diversified so there are other industries to fall back on. Does it look like someone else will come in and buy out the whole thing, or is this just the end of things? You know things will work out, but I have a feeling you may be taking alot of long walks just to have a little solitude. Congrats on the new Explorer. What color? I'm back to doing laundry again. Wooo-hooo.:jig: Darling_Peaches 01-11-2003, 08:47 PM In a few months or sooner, I may be my new house. Wouldn't it be nice if you all (except Bagz) purchased from her things that she has made with own little hands and sent them to me as house-warming gifts???? That would be so lovely. We are trying to clean up this place so the landlord can come in and look and be proud and think how rich he'll be when he sells it. It's slow go. Ds is easily distracted and it's a genetic problem. Tomorrow we look at another house. It sounds good on paper. Herbie may meet us there. Probably will as he is an expert at this and can act like one without any dirty looks from me. Here's what we had for dinner: Two boneless pork chops were set in the bottom of the slow cooker. A can of yam was poured over them. They cooked in the juice, needed a little salt and pepper but were delicious. I don't know if this would work with more than two pork chops. ;) PeachiePorkchop Lush ... what is Rent about? Why aren't you supposed to take kids? It's here this month. Bagzz 01-11-2003, 10:15 PM WE HAVE A MILL UP HERE KIWI!!!!!!!!! COME ON UP HERE AND LIVE!!! COME TO OUR LAND!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHH dabrat 01-12-2003, 12:11 AM OK what does Bagz make? I have been MIA having a pity party due to PMSing. I am a B**** and proud of it. I am glad that you are all better Wabby. We live about an hour from each other! That is the closest I have been to anyone from 3FC.If you ever want to meet for lunch at Clackamas Town Center let me know that would be fun. Dreadlocks? I think sometimes they are cute but usually look nasty. How does DD look in them? D Darling_Peaches 01-12-2003, 10:02 AM Bagzie, I LOVE QUILTS TOOOOO> I want to take a class TOOOOO. Acutally, there is a quilting group here in Dogpatch. They are a bunch of uptight old ladies who want their pictures inthe paper every year when they make lap robes for the nursing home. One of them comes to the paper and says stuff like, "We want the pictures that reporter took of us for our scrapbook. That's all? I know she took more than that." Never thank you. Never acknowledgement that I'm standing there in the same room. I want a warm group that likes people who can't sew. But I love quilts!! DS and I both have handmade ones on our beds. His is beautiful. Mine has 1/2 inch long stitches. Same lady made them. I thought people just woke up and their hair was dreadlocked. I want to see this. Are you all praying that I'll find the perfect house for a reasonable price, get a new better paying job, and be happy for ever?:hyper:  :moo: Lush 01-12-2003, 12:52 PM Rent Libretto (www.wildeggplant.com/rent/index.htm) I think it is ok for a kid DS's age to see. Does he know how people get aids? There is some rough language, but nothing worse than he hears in the boys room at school. Well, maybe a little rougher. Anyway, it is a remake of La Boehm set in NYC instead of Paris and with AIDS instead of TB. DD loved it. I'm praying for your house. I hope you get an adorable place and a great new job. Wabby, I"m so glad you feel better. Don't do wash!!!!! Bagzie, we should talk about Sissy's housewarming present. I'm afraid my contribution can't be talent, I have none. Patience either. But I would provide moral support and supplies!!! I'm on my way to see Chicago. bye Bagzz 01-12-2003, 03:20 PM I will make sissy a stained glass lamp for her new house----i will take all the glory and you all can pay for the postage!!!!who is sad that a Bee Gee has gone remiss {newfoundland expression for "passed on"}i LOVED "stayin alive" the soundtrack!!!!!!!gotta go make roast beef dinner for the mother and mother in laws----and apple crisp. Kiwonk 01-12-2003, 08:17 PM I haven't made that in ages. I am so sorry to hear that Maurice Gibb died. He was so very cool. UMaine beat Northeastern in Hockey last night, Bagz. It was fun. Not the most exciting hockey game I ever went to, but fun. We went to My Big Fat Greek Wedding this afternoon. DD thought it was dumb. DH and I thought it was hilarious. Made me glad I didn't marry the Greek boyfriend, not that his family was that bad (and not that he asked..), but I think that was his grandmother too. I did not exercise yesterday and I am not exercising today, and we had roast chicken with roast veggies for dinner and I had lots and lots and I had :jeno: and beer last night. I ate a whole 9" pizza--with mushrooms, tomatoes and pinenuts! Doesn't that sound yummy? It was. Tomorrow I go back to good Kiwi. Can't wait for the housewarming, Pechez. Brattie, Bagz makes lovely stained glass. And apparently quilts. Kiwi Darling_Peaches 01-12-2003, 09:12 PM found a house found a house found a house found a house. Put down money put down money put down money. signed some paper signed some paper signed some papers. I like Big Fat Greek Wedding too. That girl was so unHollywood. Lush 01-12-2003, 10:12 PM My mom went to high school with the father in MBFGW. His real name is Gus Efstration(phonetically). They all thought he was "pink" in high school. Once he was famous he never came to reunions. Ha, ha on them. Lush 01-12-2003, 10:13 PM OOOOHHHH, and congratulation on the abode, Sissy. Details, please. Cherry Cow 01-12-2003, 11:50 PM Hello Cows! I have had success for my first two weeks. I've eaten a nice, healthy, high-fiber breakfast of Kashi every morning and have eaten healthy lunches. This week's diet change is to eat a piece of fruit for my morning snack. I worked out twice with my tapes, but walked 30-40 minutes each weekday. I'm getting a new workout DVD (woo!) this week, so that will be my new routine. Weights three times a week and cardio three times a week. And walks. I'm getting used to my new schedule. I should be in bed by now, but I flipped my schedule this weekend and now have to get back to the right schedule. I have to get up in about four hours for work. Kiwi, sorry about the mill news. Sounds like your DH will be able to land on his feet, though. I'd better go. Hi to everyone! SugP 01-13-2003, 05:35 AM Hi babes! Started getting really depressed last night (watching that movie with Michael Caine and Toby McGuire and the orphanage did *not* help) and realized that it was because I hadn't been on here for at least two days. Real life got in the way, can you believe it. Would love to reply personally to each and every one of you, but I have to go out and buy groceries, so I'll just say YAHOO!, WOOHOO! and BOOHOO! and you can take the one that applies to your particular life situation at this point in time. Guess what I'm FINALLY reading - only how many years late? The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood! I'm so out of it. It's very entertaining and highly depressing at the same time. Just like me. Lush 01-13-2003, 06:00 AM I'm trying enhanced mode because I want to experience complex nesting of tags. Let's try this. Now I am complexly nesting my tags. Isn't this attractive? This is so much fun because I LOVE to be up ALL NIGHT due to obvious MSG in the no MSG Chinese food I had for dinner. Sugar, it is always a mistake to allow your 3-D life to intrude on your true, cyber life. I love that movie, and I'm just re-reading the YaYa's. I finished The Lovely Bones which was very good. It is hard to read when you have a daughter.[B] I loved Chicago. It's unusual to see a musical on screen that works. This was very good. [/I] I'm going to go get in the shower to get moving. Have a great day everyone. Bagzz 01-13-2003, 01:34 PM i want to read the lovely bones but i have five daughters and it is true---IT IS SO HARD TO READ SUCH THINGS WHEN THERE ALREADY ARE ENOUGH REAL THINGS TO DEPRESS YOU----PEACHBUTT---GET OVER HERE AND DESCRIBE YOUR NEW HOME!!!!!!! SugP 01-13-2003, 05:07 PM Lushy, I just *loooove* what you've done with your tags! They make you look 10 years younger. Peachy, can we sing the "Found a House" song to the tune of "Found a Peanut"? Gotta go to bed. I promise I'll commiserate with all of yous and y'all tomorrow. Kiwonk 01-13-2003, 07:04 PM I'm typing in a lovely Peach color in honor of Peachie's new house. :bravo: Yayayayayayayayayay for Peaches!! :high::dance: :balloons: :flow2: Originally posted by Lush My mom went to high school with the father in MBFGW. I used to watch "Room 222" all the time when I was in high school. He was much funnier in the movie, though. My mother went to high school with Sorrell Booke -- he played Boss Hogg in Dukes of Hazzard. He died, so he doesn't go to high school reunions either. Way to go, Cherry. Sounds like you are really sticking with it. You're not getting the same DVD set I have, are you? Silly Sugar, groceries are boring. Come talk to us. I bought groceries the other day, um I think it was Thursday or Friday, and the bags are still on the washing machine. Of course I put away the perishables, but not only have I not put away those groceries, obviously I have not done any laundry either!! What a slacker I am! It's all this exercising I've been doing; I can't really do anything else :s: We still don't really know what's going on with DH's mill. He is updating his resume, just in case. Oh, and I got a navy blue Explorer. The old one was a more interesting color--kind of a plummy grey, but at least I have my power moonroof and leather seats :smug: Kiwi Cherry Cow 01-13-2003, 07:37 PM Hi! Kiwi, what DVDs do you have? I'm getting Cathe Friedrich's Pure Strength series. Yay! Today I did Cross Train Express Step and Intervals. I tried to start the week with my least favorite, but that wasn't it. I think it's actually 10-10-10, and the only reason I don't like it as much is because I'm so bad at floor cardio. I also did weight-lifting for chest. I also walked for a total of 40 minutes. I also ate breakfast, ate snack, ate lunch, and ate another snack. I have been ravenous today! I'm hungry right now. I also cleaned. How long will this last? Peachie, congrats on your new house! Do tell, do tell! Lush 01-13-2003, 08:08 PM See? Cherry is perfect. Did you see Kiwi's tags? I'm so impressed. Did you guys here over on the other thread that Wabby went to work????? She is TOO perfect. I'm not perfect at all. But my dog is adorable. I've tried to attach a pic. It isn't really my actual dog, since I don't have a scanner or any technical ability, but it is a dog that looks amazingly like my dog. I started a boring journal. I've been putting my lists there. Sorry, if you guys want special permission to see the list, just ask. bye Darling_Peaches 01-13-2003, 11:44 PM You have a dog? I thought you hated all shedding (live) things. That is an adorable dog. The house is small, purple (not my fault) and has new laminate floors, a glasstop stove, 3b/2b, carport, yard, trees and ..... Herbie, I think, is having this ego thing but I don't know. I am so helpless here. This man I work with, we'll call him Ed, printed off for me the listings in the area I wanted. Eight of them. I discussed them with Herbie and decided to look at this one and Herbie says "call the realtor and if I can meet you there, I will." Of course, Herbie and Ed are realtors also. So Herbie and I and the realtor, Bathsheba, looked at the house and Herbie decided to go home and take a nap and leave me alone to dothe contract. But he wrote stuff down to go in the contract. The realtor didn't put the stuff in the contract like he wrote it. For instance, he wrote the fridge stays and she said it doesn't and didn't write it. Herbie is p*****d. Herbie says it wasn't her decision and it was MY offer to buy the house with the fridge, etc. He says she tooka dvantage of me and I'm sure she did. But HERBIE WENT HOME TO TAKE A NAP and now I'm left all uneasy feeling about the whole thing. Plus she got all the commission instead of Ed getting any or Herbie. Rant, rave, rant, rave. Kiwonk 01-14-2003, 02:05 AM What did he expect when he went home and took a nap? After all, some people were born with negotiating skills and some people weren't. They can't leave someone like you or me alone with a salesperson and expect stellar results. This is why we let them come along in the first place. So, that simply isn't your fault, Peaches dear. If I'd had to go out and buy my own car, I think I would have resurrected the sad little snow-covered Saab pile out in the yard and paid a fortune to get that going again rather than deal with a salesperson. Have you ever noticed that you can flirt with mechanics, but not salesmen? Well, of course in a social situation you can flirt with anyone, but on the job, it's much easier to flirt with mechanics. Plus you know they wouldn't dare touch you because their hands are all greasy, while you never know with salesmen. So glad Wabbit is feeling better. At least she had better be feeling better or she should not be working, even if the place is becoming romper room and needs a den mother. Cherry, my DVD is from BeachBody.com, but it is also alternating 3 days cardio/3 days weights, so it is similar. You know a lot more about these things than I do--what is 10-10-10? I have a step video which I did once and never looked at again. Maybe when I get in better shape with these, I can add in some variety like step and yoga. Lush, that is one cute dog. Looks like a stuffed animal almost. I miss having a big furry dog around. If I stick my face in the cats' fur, I just sneeze. Kiwi Wabby 01-14-2003, 11:53 AM You've all been over here posting while I was on to the next thread. Kiwi, I like navy blue on an Explorer. It goes good w/ my jeans that I squeeze myself into. Actually I seem to have broken the jeans and a sweater rut I was into. Now I wear slacks and a sweater. I'm such a fashion adventuress. All this talk of exercise is wearing me out. I have another couple weeks before I'm supposed to go Curving. They were so sweet. They sent me a get well card from Curves. I think they just want to remind me I owe them for this month, but they didn't say so. One of our glass vendors sent me the most extravagant floral arrangement that I have ever received. It has all these tropical flowers like the kind that grow in Peaches yard, and lilies and roses too. It is almost as tall as I am and had 2 get well balloons tied to it. Now I feel like I should stay off work longer to justify all this attention. Lushy, your dog is adorable!!!! Even Frappe's dog would be jealous. And the best part is, he matches your carpet. No body will know when he sheds all over things. I made the mistake of getting a light colored dog when my sofa is navy blue. Not that she's supposed to be on the sofa, but she's sneaky. I used to sell real estate, Peaches, and there's always some big controversy over who gets the commission. Just handing you a list of properties doesn't earn a commission, maybe just a courtesy thank you gift from the agent who actually showed the property and wrote it up. And tell Herbie to get over it, if he wanted to make sure things were written into the contract, he should have stuck around. Don't let his grousing ruin your new house euphoria. I've really got to go get something done. I just can't be shchlumping around in my robe all day. Or can I?????:s: Lush 01-14-2003, 12:20 PM Originally posted by Wabby It goes good w/ my jeans that I squeeze myself into. Actually I seem to have broken the jeans and a sweater rut I was into. I think you still deserve credit, even if you did break it by shchlumping around in a robe all day. I napped, for two hours. Now I am ready to hit it. I mean it. I really do. Yes my dog is adorable. She is a Maltese. She doesn't shed. She weighs 5 lbs. I washed her with Johnson's baby shampoo yesterday. She smells like a baby, but she is housebroken. It's wonderful. My journal has had 27 views. That is SO SAD. I don't really write anything in my journal, I just keep my lists. Thank you for your message, Wabby, I'll write the story of the accountant and the spinach pie in my new romance novel. Peachie, Herbie TOTALLY let you down. Want me to smack him? I am still VERY excited about your house. It will be wonderful. Do you have a decorating scheme, yet? OK, I'm going to go make something of this day. DH will not be home till six, I prefer that. When he is working close, he is home earlier and he disrupts my day. How can I be lazy when he is so active? XXOO Lush 01-14-2003, 01:23 PM Me again. I just spent an hour in the laundry room sorting and organizing. Now I'm going to check out the kitchen. I'm lonely. Somebody post. Dahlia 01-14-2003, 01:40 PM Hi Lush, Can't have you being lonely... so I will say hello. I am busy working in my office, we own our own business.. but will take a break. Wabby glad you are feeling better. Just remember not to over do. You did just have surgery.... now... don't get well to fast *that they notice anyway* you can get at least another week or two of rest out of this...:) Lush, your laundry room must be Perfect now...:) I am doing that with the files etc. as I close off the year, and get things started for the new year.. putting more files onto the computer etc. I hate clutter.... Is that Miss Letty for real? She sounds like a real Nut to me. You find all kinds on here :) I guess I just don't follow what is going on..... Since I began a new healthier way of eating last monday with dh.. I have gone down 2 pounds.. and I find my stomach is shrinking ,, that is my goal... so I can be Perfect 2009 early.. Ok. well have to get back to work.. later gals, Dahlia Lush 01-14-2003, 03:23 PM Oh Dalhia, you are so sweet. My laundry requires more than an hour to become perfect, but it is coming along. I am making a lovely ham for dinner. No one is going out tonight, but me, so I can make a big mess in the kitchen. I am making my list in the journal, but that is so uninspiring. I'm going to post one now. Here. I'm listening to a Lisa Scottoline(sp) book right now. It is OK. It is keeping me occupied. It is overdue at the library. It horrifies me that I am actually paying to listen to this. It isn't worth it. It is so hard to find a good book on tape anymore. SugP 01-14-2003, 04:59 PM ...that Herbie should be made to fork out for the fridge that Peaches isn't getting because it's *all his fault*. A side-by-side with an ice maker in the door would be the least he could do. Hi Dahlia. Don't let Letty scare you. Rumour has it that she's just a fig newton of someone's imagination, but we love her like a sister. Bagzz 01-14-2003, 05:07 PM PEACHERS!!!MAY A BIG LOAD OF HUDDA BEFALL HERBIVORE!!!!!!!!!!!AND DO NOT LET MISS MILQUETOAST AND OATMEAL DO YOUR COLOUR SCHEME!!!!!!!!!!!! MATCHING DOGS IS NOT THE WAY TO GO Cherry Cow 01-14-2003, 05:22 PM Hello Cows! I have done my Cross-Train express- Power Circuit tape, which also has a back workout. I also cleaned my living room some more. You may think this means I am already Perfect, but alas, I still don't fit into any of my clothes. SugP 01-15-2003, 04:44 AM Just kidding, Cherry-cutie! You are doing so well! Makes me tired just reading your fitness journal. THIS will be the year we finally do it, right? I did 15 on the cross-trainer this morning. Praise me. It was all I could manage in my present state of exaustion, but it's a start. Watched some of Tea with Mussolini while I was on there. Where do they get all these adorable little boys for movies? Breaks my heart to watch them. Glad to see you up and about, Wabby! But please don't overdo it. Where can I get a wiener dog cursor?? Oh boy, Kiwi! Things are looking a bit rough, eh? Is dh optimistic about the whole thing? Off to fold laundry. If I had spent an hour in my laundry room (which I haven't), I *might* have been able to dig down to the second sedimentary layer of dirty clothes. It's just nuts in there. Wabby 01-15-2003, 10:55 AM Lush, the reason you need to be lazy when your DH is so active is because it keeps the universe in balance. The yin and yang principle, the opposites attract principle, all those principles would be thrown totally off if you changed your ways. That's why I let my DH work so hard. Just doing my part to keep the universe from spinning out of control. Dahlia, you're making me feel like a slacker here. I should be doing all that year end stuff w/ the books too. Yeeech. :p Let's talk about what you're growing this spring. Do you do mostly annuals? What kinds? Tell me more. I made a lovely ham for dinner too, Lush. Actually it was precooked from the grocery store w/ that honey glazed stuff that they crisp up w/ a burnzamatic torch. Then they spiral slice it and charge double for it. I only bought it because I absolutely couldn't think of anything to make for dinner. And the butcher guy was so nice. I went to the Dr. yesterday, he predicted that if I was feeling this good, this soon, that within 30 days I will be feeling 10 years younger!! He said that the condition of my gall bladder would had to have caused me to be dragging, whether I realized it or not. So go get your gall bladder yanked and you'll be a new woman!!!!! I have a feeling it will take more than that to make me feel 36 again. Sugar, you are my idol. I praise you. Good girl. Thatta gal. Way to go. Is that good enough? :^: And Cherry, same to you. You young'ns are an inspiration. I'll ask DH's gf where she got the weiner dog cursor, Sugar. I still have no hopes of actually getting to the bottom of my laundry room hampers. If I did, my DS would just excavate his room and I'd be starting over. Does anyone here actually get to the point of wiping down your washer and dryer? Kiwonk 01-15-2003, 03:08 PM Hi kids. That's about all I have to say. Except that Miss Letty disappears if she turns sideways. Way to go Sugar and Cherry. I am going to go do my workout right now. :jog: Kiwi Dahlia 01-15-2003, 03:15 PM Hello ladies, Wabby, I confess, I do wipe down my washer and dryer, whenever i give the bathroom a good cleaning, cause my laundry room is right in the bathroom. it's a large room...but that isn't to often.. my guestion is how can something that washes our clothing using soap and water get so dirty?? ever look inside between your tub and the shell... wowee.... !!!! (((((((I'll ask DH's gf where she got the weiner dog cursor, Sugar))))). Wabby, your dear husband has a girlfriend....????? I hope you mean you DS :o Wabby, what kind of business do you and hubby have? Do I remember right when I think construction., how many employees do you have? We plant a lot of annuals, but we also do some periennials, and also things like peonies, clematis, hostas, etc. I took the morning off to go to town with my ds and the grandbabies,, then they stayed for lunch and played awhile, so now I better get back to work.. have to get started on this year's price lists. Wabby, enjoy the get well gift.. and soak up all this attention.. unfortunately it don't last, the attention that is... so enjoy it while you can.. and also, if you can't lay around in your jammies now then when can you? It's as good an excuse as ever... :dizzy: Don't be in a rush to get back to work.. it will be there..H Hello to everyone else.. Peachy congrats. on the new house.. my DS#2 just bought one also, he is in Calif..... it's an exciting time. take care, Dahlia Kiwonk 01-15-2003, 10:49 PM Originally posted by Dahlia Wabby, I confess, I do wipe down my washer and dryer, whenever i give the bathroom a good cleaning, cause my laundry room is right in the bathroom. it's a large room...but that isn't to often.. my guestion is how can something that washes our clothing using soap and water get so dirty?? ever look inside between your tub and the shell... wowee.... !!!! Yeah, that's a mystery, isn't it? Or the dishwasher, even worse -- when it occurs to me to wipe out the inside of that around the edges, it's really horrific to see what has accumulated while I thought I was innocently washing dishes! We were looking at some old videos last night and DH commented on how "clean the house looked". Probably because the kitchen floor actually looked like it had been mopped in its lifetime. I had to inform him that it doesn't get cleaned anymore because whenever I mop it, several more tiles disintegrate and I don't have the heart to keep doing it. It's true. Only about 2/3 of the floor is left. And I despair of ever being able to do something about it. Today DH went to the bankruptcy hearings for his company. So far it looks like he will continue to be paid (vacation weeks) for the time being. Of course actually seeing the checks will be more convincing. But no real idea of when or if the mill will start up. This is really depressing, I can tell you. Not because we will be in terrible straits or anything, just that, selfishly, I don't see me getting my new house. Meanwhile this dump is in that much worse condition than it was last year. Did I tell you we have a black plastic garbage bag hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen to guide the water that leaks from the ceiling into a bucket on the counter? Aren't you jealous? Oh well. I did exercise today. I am almost getting better at it. I actually did some jumping jacks! {pat pat pat} Kiwi Wabby 01-15-2003, 11:25 PM Wabby, your dear husband has a girlfriend....????? Hey, Dahlia, everybody will tell you I'm easy going. ;) We gave a glass business, we do mostly new commercial construction aluminum storefronts & entrances. We have 3 guys who work for us, plus DS, DH & me. I love peonys, hostas & clematis!!! I have some of each, but of course I always need one more. I have a serious plant buying problem. The biggest problem now is finding a spot to fit the new ones in. Kiwi, just do what I do when the state of the house get to you - get out of it for awhile. Or look out the window at the view or just grit your teeth. I figure my time for the new house will come, and I'll just appreciate it all the more. In the mean time I try to concentrate on what I do have. Call me Pollyanna. Excuse me for being so perky. It's easy for me to give advice when I don't have a DH underfoot. He's busy w/ his girlfriend  dabrat 01-16-2003, 01:40 AM OK Wabby my darling you did say that DH has a gf? I was wondering about that too? You can not be that easy going or are you just being funny as usual? I want flowers here too. I hope to be able to plant some pretty stuff this year in baskets and stuff. I am going to grow tomatoes again can lots of them cause I  them so much.:T :T :T I love going out first thing in the morning and eatting them warm from the sunshine. I am going to grow strawberries again in planters this year also. Last year the birds loved me for my plants. I want to get stuff the will be pretty in hanging baskets. Kiwi I am so sorry about your DH plant closing. Ihope it starts up soon and he gets all his vacation pay. Has he gone for unemployment yet? I can't remember. :headache: Dahlia I have to laugh about washing the washer and dryer down. My ex was anal over that. I couldn't have a laundry basket on the washer even! :yikes: No wonder he is my ex! SugP 15 on the cross trainer means what to a unedumacated person like me? CHerry you also cross train? What is a cross trainer? It is like a cross dresser? Bagzz Miss Milquetoast means what? Geesh I am so off tonight I guess. Lush I have my laundry room done finally. I just have to fold one load and dry the other and fold that. Do I need to wipe down washer and dryer? Do I have to wipe down shelves above washer and dryer also? OK I am off now ladies sorry I had so many questions. Brattie   SugP 01-16-2003, 05:17 AM Just tying to confuse you, Brattie!:D The thing we have is actually called an elliptical strider. It's supposed to be a combination of an exercise bike, a stepper and a treadmill. Bagzie says it's like slogging through mud. I did 15 whole minutes yesterday. I have no stamina. Today I did my weight routine before the kids even went off to school. Felt slightly nauseated, but that's nothing new for me. Having my 10 o'clock banana and Diet Pepsi snack now. June would be proud. Gotta lose the Pepsi, though. Bad, bad stuff in there. I read it on the internet! My pregnant friend is about to pop any day. Her practically estranged dh was all keen on getting her a colour tv. She didn't want one but he insisted. When I was over there I suggested to her that she get a little freezer (about the same size as a tv here in mini-appliance land) instead, because all she has is a weeny one in her tiny fridge. She mentioned this to him and his comment was, "What the heck do you need a freezer for? You've lived here for 7 years without one. You can go shopping every day!" Oh yes, we all know how much fun grocery shopping with a newborn, or worse, a toddler, can be, especially every day. He finally broke down and she got her freezer instead of the tv. The guy is such a jerk. I'd like to kick him around the block a few times. She needs to get rid of him ASAP. He's hardly ever physically there, but the mental stress is driving her crazy. She still does his laundry, sweet soul that she is. He needs a couple of rounds in the looney bin, and I'm not just being mean, he really is nutz. Did I mention that the parental units have moved once again? They swear this will be their last house. They bought it from this darling little ancient Chinese lady whose husband died 3 years ago and Mummy swears the old guy is still walking the halls whispering advice about where to put things. Mummy's like that, you know, which is probably why I turned out like this! :smug: I am making chicken bacon brochettes for dinner. Basically bacon- wrapped chicken on a stick. With mushrooms in between. Yum. Lush 01-16-2003, 06:30 AM Originally posted by SugP I am making chicken bacon brochettes for dinner. Wow, Sugar, you are the happy homemaker. chicken wrapped in bacon sounds wonderful. Perfect 2009 is fine because I woke up this morning with no alarm. I am concerned about my new job. DS has been sick, I mean REALLY Sick this week. I haven't been able to work. What can I do? I had that great first week, they called me at the beginning of this week, but now they've stopped. Should I call? Kiwi, I'm sure the mill will start up again. In PA, where I'm from, the mills shut down between owners, but then start up again. Are there any other mills around? Is it the only game in town? I have a cold...again... our collective family immune system is not doing so well. We're constantly sick this year. Must go. bye SugP 01-16-2003, 07:42 AM Is that the ds with asthma, Lushy? Sick is not good, not good at all. :( Have you been having that cr*ppy, rainy weather too? I forgot, are you substituting? Can you call them and explain your situation and tell them how much you love your job? Bacon is still sealed up in a package I bought in early Jan. Hope it's still ok. The recipe has been staring at me from the cover of an old Candian Living magazine (that I *will not* throw away!) for about a week so I thought I'd better make it and get it out of my system. And anything with bacon has to be good. Calls for one slice per person (who are they kidding) so we won't be going to cholesterol h*ll.  Dahlia 01-16-2003, 10:21 AM Good morning ladies. Kiwi, #1, I am not anal...I said I only wipe down my appliances once in a while... however, my DH once said that about me in the office. I am too organized for him... but yet when he wants something and I know just where it is.. he is thankful..:dizzy: Wabby, we are just putting in a new retail front to our greenhouse,, I wish we could put in an all glass front, as it is, we are putting in double doors with glass... so I actually get to look out and see the parking lot and the scenery beyond which is of a lake.. really very pretty, instead of the usual plastic walls.:) When the baskets and containers are blossoming I'll take some pictures and try to post them to show you gals what we do. NOt sure how to do that, but maybe I could get some email addresses and share with you personally if you are interested. You gals are becoming habit forming... it is a great way to start my day.. I always seem to get a chuckle from someone's posts. Kiwi, why doesn't your dh fix the leak instead of putting up a garbage bag to direct the leak.. even a temp. fix would be better wouldn't it? SugP... your mommy sounds either funny or demented..I say that kindly, :D that she still sees or hears the old chinese man walking the halls telling her where to place things.. Brattie, I agree, there is nothing better than a fresh tomatoe eaten right from the garden.. have you ever tried sweet 100's. they grow in clusters like grapes. they are small and so sweet, we pick a bucket full of them and snack all day... simply love them. Don't remember who has the floor that is deteriorating, but you know there are cheap linoleums on the market, wouldnt' that solve your problem for a while and be more sanitary?:s: Sounds like we are all waiting for a new house some day.. I have been waiting for about 30 yrs. been promised one for the first 10 then told it wouldn't happen, now again there is hope... a retirement house sometime in the future... well there is always hope anyway... Ok. well I have procrastinated enough this morning, I must get to work. DS's gf is coming over this afternoon to hang out with me, so better get something done this morning.. You all take care and have a good day. I'll catch up with you this evening. Dahlia Darling_Peaches 01-16-2003, 09:51 PM Well. After that what is left to say? Bagzz 01-17-2003, 10:30 AM i say.let's start a new thread and start our affirmations again---we need June to help us,but she is tanning in her catsuit downt' Egypt--and I think she has Philosphy exam at Oxford in the morning.ANYway---here is my affirmation----- I am NOT a six-arsed Rhino--no matter what my mother says. Dahlia 01-17-2003, 01:42 PM Bagz, did your mommy really say that? that is terrible. but sometimes the ones we love say the worse things to us.. I find old people usually say mean rude things and don't think a thing about it.. NOt much to say, but had to comment on that remark you made..I am ready to start a new page and reaffirm my committment.. still doing good on my eating... getting healthier if nothing else... Hope someone else posts soon, need more to read...:) Hi to all. Later, Dahlia vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
