Another question on clothing sizes
There have been several threads on vanity sizing, and the whole trend does drive me nuts. I'm 5'3" and 131 lbs. - I should not be a size 6, but that's what I am in most things now. My measurements are pretty even (36-29-37) and based on the way sizes used to run I would be a 10, with my ultimate goal about an 8.
I went shopping this weekend for some new activewear and underwear and noticed something very interesting. The activewear seems to be cut much smaller than street clothes. I tried on several pairs of capris/long shorts(by companies like adidas, nike, new balance, etc)in a medium and all were really tight on me! In fact, I ended up buying a large without trying them on because I assumed they would fit, and they're pretty snug too!
Same with the shirts(the moisture-wicking type ones ) and sports bras. I like my sports bras to be really tight anyway for jogging, but I don't like the shirts too tight.
And the underwear were even worse! Again, I didn't try them on and I bought some mediums and some larges based on what they had and how it looked. Some of the larges are a bit snug on me. These were simple cotton hipster and boy shorts.
Guess it all goes back to what my mom says - you have to try everything on!
