Question eggwhites in lieu of HNS?

Hello again,

Hopefully this is my last burning question of the day!

Anybody using eggwhites instead of HNS for their program? I saw another lady's post a few years ago (she was so helpful!) saying that she has used eggwhites mixed with powdered with crystal light, or alternately coffee & sugar free chocolate syrup.

I like them and have started out using them (about 1/2 cup per meal, which is a bit more than 15 g protein), but I do note that this is about 75 calories added. No carbs, no sugars, though.

Anybody used these successfully for program in lieu of HNS?

BTW when i was on my green smoothie kick prior to re-starting MRC the egg whites really upped the protein content and added a nice consistency, just FYI, in case you end up on a green smoothie adventure one day...LOL...i couldn't lose weight using green smoothies/lean meats/healthy fats but could TOTALLY see myself drinking a pitcher every day once reaching normal weight. they rock nutritionally!

Blessings,

I've heard of that, but frankly it sounds disgusting. You could use the powdered variety that's been pasteurized, but those are fairly expensive and wouldn't save you a great deal over HNS from dietdirect. While most raw eggs won't actually hurt you, I'd hate to take the chance so many times because you drink so many HNS. I've used the occasional raw egg in caesar salad dressing (pre MRC of course), but I wasn't eating it nearly as often as I do HNS now.

If you stock up from dietdirect when the HNS are on sale, it's not that bad. Also, I find HNS to be rather pleasant, so I'd hate to lose that since I don't overly enjoy the OP food.

it was meemo, look up some of her old posts ... I think she has the recipe
she was using plain unflavord whey powder (which she bought in bulk) and crystal lite ... the calorie and nutrition content was very much the same as the HNS
