Hello all!

I was wondering if any of you have found a good product, supplement and/or technique for getting rid of red acne scars?

I am pretty pale and went through a bout of hormonal acne that left me with dark red scars along my jaw and on my neck. I cover them up with make-up right now when I feel the need to look like I have flawless skin, but I would like it even better if I could get rid of them them in a way faster than waiting out years for natural fading... and not applying spackling to my skin

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

I would try Maderma. I got a deep scratch across my face a couple years ago and used it and there's no sign of it. I did use it right away when i got it but it says it works on pre-existing scars too. It costs about $20 but it worked for me.

I got some Maderma at Stop & Shop yesterday, for $16.95 for a small 0.70 oz (20g) tube. It has a nice light slippery gel consistency and has a pretty rose smell. It says to use 3-4 times a day for 8 weeks on new scars, and 3-6 months on old scars. My fingers are crossed that it will act faster than 6 months

I'm going to look around online and see if I can get my 2nd tube cheaper somewhere... Maybe if I buy in bulk

I read on another forum that posters had good results with BioOil - I have never used the product myself so I can't vouch for it personally.

Glycolic acid should also help with the scars. Try an 8% toner. I've noticed that it's definitely help me lessen the appearance of acne scars and marks.

Try drinking 1/4 cup of cranberry juice in the morning and at night.
A friend of mine had skin cancers removed and the areas healed in 2 weeks time..no scarring or red marks.

I had to stop drinking decaf and regular coffee to get rid of my acne.
All I have to do is drink coffee after dinner, and skin problems crop up right away.

Another vote for Bio Oil, I used to use it all the time. Now I use pure Argan oil and I love it, not sure how it works for scars but I have had problems with acne and this is the best my skin has been for years.

As an esthetician I second the glycolic acid suggestion. You can find alot of cleansers, toners, and moisturizers with either glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acids (AHA). I have found on many of my clients that over time these will even out skin tone, reduce the appearance of scarring, as well as being a great anti aging ingredient. Hope that helps

You can either get it in creams, in the oil form or in capsules (that you take). If there are large areas of scaring it might be better to use the cream, but i've heard so people just burst open the capsules and rub it into the area

Might i add Bio Oil is also awesome if you have a minor burn .. i rub that on mine and it doesn't scar or even blister ( i used to be a school cook and a chef )
