Default Calories in ground almonds??

I'm so confused!!

My grocery store has a big bin of chopped almonds that you can ground into almond butter. On the bin it says that 2 tbsp is 170 calories. Yet when I look online at ground almonds, it says 1/4 c. is 135. This doesn't make sense to me!! Peanut butter is 190 cal in 2 tbsp, so I suppose that almond butter is probably pretty similar, right? So the 2 tbsp = 170 cal is correct?

Do you have a scale? Almonds are about 170 cal per ounce (28 grams). Maybe the source they looked at had them chopped a different size. Weighing would be the most accurate in this case.

Almonds are great as an acid reducer.
I eat 2-4 almonds after eating. Now I don't have to take tums.

I had a big problem with acid indigestion, now it is under control.
You can find out more about the healthy aspects of almonds by searching in the internet.

Could the two tablespoons for 170 be referring to the almond butter you would make from those chopped almonds? That would be about right for almond butter.

Definitely weigh them.
