Default Countdown to 200

I remember reading someone's post about how many pounds to get to 200 instead of her ultimate goal since it's such a far away goal. My ideal weight is 160 and frankly I have never weighed this since the 8th grade! I think instead of putting my goal at 160 which seems so defeating I will put 200 and just countdown to it. It seems so much better to me to think "you only have to get to 200" which is "only" 48 more pounds. It seems less stressful to me. And heck, I'd love to be 200 right now and be able to maintain it! I am sure when I get there I won't be satisfied and will want to lose more, but for now that will be my goal, counting down to 200. It's just a mind thing. Does this make any sense?

anyone else care to join me?

This makes more than sense! I agree with you. This goal is in sight..not over the other side of the hill.

I'll count with you!

200 here we come!

Ok, this is just too wierd. I was thinking the same thing the other day. That if I could just get to 200 I'd be a happy camper!! So as you can see by my sig - I am with you!!

Although, "Just 93 lbs to go!" doesn't sound all that great, it DOES sound better than "145 lbs to go!!"

I hit a magic number today. One that I haven't seen in awhile. 258. What a difference that 5 makes!!!

58 pounds to go! I can't wait!

I'm with you guys. I weighed around 200 on our wedding day (which I thought was AWFUL!) and when I get down there again, there are a bunch of clothes (and LINGERIE) I can wear again.

That is DEFINITELY going to be a milestone.

Oh, I can't wait to get to 200 or so. I have a couple of skirts, pants, shorts, & undergarments that I will be able to wear again. Plus, a good friend gave me some clothes that are too big for her that I am excited to wear & should fit into right around 200 pounds. It's definitely going to be a milestone for me... Only about 29 more pounds to go!!!

I agree whole-heartedly! Only 9 pounds to go now! I keep saying that I will get there, but it sure is taking way too long for me, but it sure felt good to hit under 210!

I'm in on this one. 200 would be a fabulous milestone to hit. I "only" have 30 lbs. to go to get there! That doesn't sound like nearly as much as the 80lbs. it will take to get to 150! What a GREAT thought. Thanks! Peace. -Apryl

I am glad you guys understand! It does sound so much better to say 48 until 200 versus 88 to 160! Since it took me almost two years to lose 65 pounds 88 more could take me forever!

[COLOR=darkblue]i like your idea! it sounds so much less scary than my ultimate goal, even though i lose very slowly and 200 may be a long way off. i finally found a plan that is working better for me now and this goal makes a good addition to my lifestyle change. thanks for putting things in much better perspective. count me in./COLOR]

Angi-
I was 200 on my wedding day too! I remember getting on the scale that morning and now that number will never be out of my head. Even at 5'8 200 is kinda big, I was wearing a size 16 wedding gown!
