Anyone seen the movie Yes Man?
I think its a great new approach to show that by saying YES, one trys to do new things. But, what if instead, we said NO and not YES?
Not to say anyone can't already do this, but doesn't it seem like a good way to tell one's self "I don't really need this, now do I?". Mostly consentrating on high calorie foods and snacks, I think its a great way to cut back. Think of it as a test against yourself and your cravings.
I've actually been trying this idea, and have noticed a great improvement in myself, both mentally and physically. I can literally go to the icecream, snacks or dessert aisles, look at something I want/or crave, and then say "NO, I don't need this" and walk away. Recently, I've even started to pass these aisles because I've been saying NO to myself so much. Its even working when I go out to lunch or dinner with friends. I've always had the compulsive need to eat dessert after my meal even if I was full. Now, I can litterally finish, when I'm full, and not think about eating more.
Just call me "NO Girl".
