Default Sore feet after only 7 minutes of walking/running?

OK... so I'm restarting the C25K. I went out to go do it this evening... and ended up stopping not for the reasons I used to in the past. This time was sore feet.

I've NEVER gotten sore feet from running before. Plus, I had only done two of the running segments from week 1!!

I'm thinking it's probably because of my new job, where I have to be on my feet for at least 5 hours at a time. However... it's really annoying me, because I want to start running again... but while I can deal with shin splints, stitch in my side, and my urticaria... sore feet is something I just can't do.

I have good shoes, and I'm running on dirt, not concrete, asphalt, or a track. Maybe I should?

I'm wanting to go run with my dogs... and I love to once I actually do it... but... I can't/won't do it with sore feet after only a few minutes. Any ideas?

Have you been fitted for shoes? I was wearing brand new (what I thought were) good shoes, and my feet were still hurting after walking, jogging, and worse yet, going numb during zumba and on the elliptical. I went in for a fitting at the running store and they told me that my shoes were A. too small and B. not right for my feet. I switched shoes and haven't had any foot issues since.

Definitely get fitted by a pro... if it persists see a foot specialist you may need orthotics... I love my orthotics...

I've had these shoes for about three months already and they've never given me any problems before (no numbness, no sore feet, nothing)... but maybe they are now with my new job that requires me to be on my feet all the time?

I think it sounds a lot like it could be your new job especially since you said you've run in the past without this problem. Do you get to wear comfortable/supportive shoes whilst standing all those hours?

I too got foot (and calf) pain during the C25K runs (probably because I'm heavy and my feet were unused to sustaining the pressure of running so long) usually the 1st day of each week of C25K but only whilst running (not after I stopped), but I usually pushed through, and by the 2nd and 3rd runs of the week, it was better.

I wouldn't necessarily say you should push through, just so you don't injure yourself if your body is warning you. Maybe you could wear more supportive shoes at work (not just flats but shoes with arch support and air cushioning or gel pads or whatever).

Also check your running form, sometimes that helps with discomfort. I used to land on my heels and when that hurt once I started running more, I read up and watched some youtube videos about running form that really helped. I mean it doesn't yet come naturally for me to not land on my heels but once I begin to feel the discomfort, I become more aware of my form and how I land. This may not be your problem but it's worth checking if changing your form might also be helpful.
