Yep, in the can. And it's around a dollar. My store had them recently 10 for $10. I bought all they had (about 5 of them) and got a raincheck for more.
What are the other ingredients in it? What are the sugars in it? I am going to compare to mine. I bought a case of sauce the other day and yep, the cheap stuff. Mine is 40 calories for 1/2 cup.
Alright here is the nutrition info. I am typing this directly from the back of a unopened can. I stock pile food.

All in all it's not the most "processed" free sauce out there. But I at least recognize every ingredient in the sauce.
Our sauces are similar. Mine has no sweetners. I do have 1g of fat and my sodium content is higher @ 610. Of note, the Vitamin C is 15% if it matters. Sugars are 5. Fiber is 3. Protein is 2.
I have not ever found your variety of Hunts. Mine is the Garlic & Herb. It sells for .88 at Walmart. It is one of the few varieties of Hunts (like your own) that doesn't contain HFCS.
Thanks for sharing and yes, I agree--to me it's a bargain considering the calories and the versatility of the stuff. I am sure a food snob will be along soon to poo poo our party.
Are there any other inexpensive low calorie things i'm just overlooking?
Would also love some more easy, quick products that are low cost. (Nutritious and calorie-concious!) I already utilize bulk shopping, in season and on sale produce and the bulk bins--quinoa, oats, lentils, rice and the like.

qualifier on the "it's yummy" I start all pasta dishes with 2 teaspoons of olive oil getting hot in a pan, 1 small sweet (vidalia or red) onion diced, 1 large carrot diced, 1 bell pepper diced, 3-4 cloves of garlic crushed or minced, a bit of salt, and I saute them in the oil before I add my meat. (I always spice my meat with paprika, fennel (ground or whole seeds) rosemary, basil, oregano, fresh ground black pepper and garlic powder.) and a little cayenne (leave this out if you don't want heat) I'm pretty sure I could add plain tomato sauce and it would taste good. :P
