Well this was exciting enough for my first post in the mini-goal forum.

I joined 3FC 3 months ago and have been on this process for the last 90 days. As of Saturday when I hit the official 90 day mark, I also hit my official 50 lbs lost mark.

Started at 260 and am down to 210.

I'm thankful to 3FC, reading and posting here has been a big contributor to my progress thus far. I've been posting regularly in this progress thread Randomcard's Progress Thread (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/weight-loss-support/187965-time-change-story-ongoing-tracker.html) which has a lot of fun stuff about my successes and failures.

Progress Pics
I just posted progress pictures in my thread...
50 lb loss Before/After Pictures (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/3191030-post144.html)

While a lot of things have contributed to my progress, most of which are detailed in my thread, I can sum it up in a few key points....

Nutrition
Used TheDailyPlate to calorie count, goal of hitting 1800-2000 cals a day, but zigzagged quite a bit from that range. Focused on getting a lot of protein, low fat/carb, but did not technically restrict any foods. Drastically cut down on processed solo carby food (bread, chips, pasta, etc.). Completely changed how I eat on the road since I travel a ton.

Exercise
Working out 4-5 times a week in the gym. Never repeat the same exercises within a week. Mixed up cardio between machines, running, basketball, sprints, swimming, etc. Plenty of weight lifting interspersed. Incorproated a lot more physical activity into my day, especially in playing with my toddler.

What's Next
Still have 20 lbs to hit my current goal of 190. I think I'll be pretty pleased at that weight (although still considered quite high for my height). I might reevaluate, but don't want to to start losing muscle mass so we'll see.

Thanks to 3FC for letting a guy in here, and for all the fantastic advice, support, and inspiration I've received every day!

Wow!! Congratulations!!! keep it up!

Maybe I need to show this to hubby for encouragement. He is 5'5" at 235. I worry about his health everyday. He worries too, but is too tired after work to exercise.

SpinQueen, that is tough. I have found that I have a really hard time going to the gym before or after work. I literally had to make adjustments to my job to allow for a longer 90 minute break in the late morning/lunch time. Not only did it help with the gym, but helped me make my lunches better choices. Not everybody has the flexibility to do that which is tough, but we all have to make due with what we've got.

For me it's been so hard to travel 2-3 weeks a month. It was hard for me to stop eating out 3 tasty meals on expense account every day and instead buy grocieries and skip the unhealthy food. But those are the cards I was dealt so had to make due.

Good luck!
