Today ends week 3 of essentially being at the same weight. It's driving me crazy.
I am so tired of doing everything right and not seeing the results.
However, I am so thankful for my wonderful, supportive husband! He said he can totally see it. And he has been commenting alot on the differences the last couple of days. I just wish I could see it!
This week I tried to break through my plateau by busting out major workouts.
I worked out every day! Out of the last 6 days, 4 days I had 2 workouts. I also added weights. By body is TIRED!
Well maybe its water, you might say. Well I avg. 123 oz of water a day!!!!!
Maybe I need a kickboxing routine because I really want to hit something!!!! This really makes me want to give up. I'm not going to but if I was on my own with no support I think I would.
No I didn't, but I have never eaten at 1200 calories.....Way to low. My calorie burn is between 2500-3000 calories a day. I try and eat between 1500-1800 calories a day.
I am a MAJOR researcher and I've done enough to know to be kind to my body.
BTW, everyone always bashes me when I say don't eat 1200 calories a day.
What I am trying to say is that it is bad to eat below your BMR. Your BMR is what you need if you are lying in a coma. Sooooooo......when you are working out, moving around etc....it makes no sense to eat less. In fact if you are in a coma your BMR is what they would feed you in a hospital to keep you alive.
Well, you can do everything right and research all the knowledge you can, but your body is going to do it's own thing on it's own time. I know it's frustrating, but sometimes it just takes more time than we want it to take to lose weight.
I certainly understand each person has their own calorie requirements, but I think relying on calculators and set numbers doesn't always work as well as finding what works personally. Try experimenting with a different calorie range until you lose weight again. Try varying your food types, or changing the number of meals a day or even the times of eating. Get playful and creative with your diet!
Oh, and the quitting thing? The consequences of that is too gruesome to think of....lol.
Did you miss the "did everything right" part? If I was eating like crazy why would I even bother posting?
Well, excuse me!
This may come as a shock, but some 3FC members actually do post that they are "doing everything right" when it turns out they have an odd idea of what that is.
I must have missed the posts that bash people when they say they don't eat 1200 calories a day (and mean they eat more). Usually it's the other way around on 3FC. But then, I've only been here since... gosh, I forget.
Nice to know you're a MAJOR researcher... I hope you find your answers somewhere.
Research is all fine and dandy - on paper that is. The truth is we're all experiments of one and need to do our own *personal* research. No one or nothing can tell us the correct numbers for ourselves. Not some calculator, doctor, nutritionist, dietitian, body bug, magician, psychic reader or genie. I don't rely on research, not when it comes to something as individual as weight loss. Not when it is a known fact that those activity calorie burned calculations are waaaay off. At least that's what research shows...
Consuming 1800 calories at your start weight might just be the issue here. That's a lot of calories and probably isn't enough to create a calorie deficit (unless of course your running marathons on a daily basis).
And then of course there's consistency. Even one day off a week is enough to wipe out any hard work and calorie deficit created during the other six. Consistency is really essential IF you want consistent results, that is.
To me it makes lots (and lots) of sense to eat less than some calculator/formula tells you to eat if that number is not enough to provide a calorie deficit and use your stored fat as energy. That's what we're after here.
Come over to the Maintainers forum here and get some up close and personal research - from folks who have been there and done that - successfully. You'll see that most of us have found our own numbers through trial and error and that those number vary immensely.
