Height: 5'4"

Default New and Full of Expectation

I am 45 and way too heavy for my 5'4" frame. I have tried several times to get this weight off and I do but I get to that mental block place and it all ends. I lost weight when I was pregnant and was two sizes away from my goal size. Well 20 months later I have ballooned up way past my pre pregnant weight. I was surfing the web for some help and found 3FC. WOO HOO. My husband will help me sometimes but if I ask him to go to the store to get me some junk food he will do that for me as well. I have a very active little girl and I want to enjoy interacting with her as well as living we are both old and good friends.

When I stumbled on this site I got very excited. People that started where I am and made their goal, people that are just starting and are motivated to get fit. I haven't told anyone but my husband about my journey because I have been wanting to do this for a while. When I get past my first mini goal of 10lbs I may tell my parents. I will only say something to my friends when they notice it. I look forward to the day I can say I have reached my goal, the day when the mirror and my mental picture are the same. This site gives me hope and encouragement to know I can do this. Everyday I read some new thread about a success I get even more excited. I have a hope and expectation that I have never had before. I guess that's why my first day, yesterday was so difficult.

Welcome, Jiggle! You have landed on the greatest place on the web for tips, tricks and support! I am back after backsliding and managing to hit my all time high weight. Two weeks ago, I was 5'6 and 283. Last Thursday (weigh in day) I was still 5'6 but 276! Anyone can do this if they set their mind to it! So post away....come back often....I am on here many times during the day. Good luck with your journey, you can so do this.....we can so do this!

Hi Jigglefree!
You're off to a great start - you're here! - I know you'll be successful in achieving your desire for a healthier and happier you - the support you need is here - we'll all be here to cheer you on.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated and inspired - you'll be a wonderful addition to any of them. There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of going off track or giving up. It has made all the difference in my success so far.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!

All the best - good luck with your goals,
Lee
