I need advice here folks....

I wasn't able to keep my hands off the little wieners yesterday...

As soon as I walked into the room I knew I was in trouble...big... little wiener trouble...

There they were right on the appetizer table....so cute...wrapped in bacon with some sort of maple coating....

I tried to keep my hands off of them...

The guacamole was to die for...haven't had onion dip in a couple of years, tried some with chips...yummy...

Healthy carrots :carrot: celery and radish decorated the table nicely....

I tried them all...

But I just couldn't keep my hands off those little wieners...no matter how hard I tried...

I couldn't lock myself in my room....or drown my sorrows in beer....

I was at church....

I need advice for next year...

How would you handle the situation?....

Don't even get me started on the cheese....wrapped in deli meat slices...

if you eat one, you're lost, heh heh.

I'd say, eat as much of the healthy stuff as you can, and keep telling yourself you can have a wrapped weenie later, later....

that way, at least if you start eating them, you won't be as hungry.

I feel for you. tis the season!

OMG those are my favorite... my saving grace is the friend that has them at her party is not going to be able to have her annual Christmas party. The 1st thing I thought about was "yeah, I won't be tempted with those little bacon wrapped sweet wieners." Dang, they have all the tastes...sweet salty. Boy oh boy I don't know if I would have survived NOT eating those. And I KNOW that I couldn't eat just one. Appetizers is a big problem for me. I would have to say I could not eat anything! Zip. Zero. Nada. And stay away from the table. Sometimes it is easier for me to do NONE vs limits.

That is me...sorry you and the appetizers had a tangle yesterday...and it sounds like they won :(

Hang in there... I don't know what I would have done if my friend had her annual Christmas party this year....whew. **deep sigh**

Tell yourself you can't have one until there are less than 5 on the plate. Then, short of standing in front of the plate and eating all of them at once, you can only do so much damage. Or allow yourself 4, with no dessert, and then you have to exercise for a half hour for every one over that that you eat.

Come'on...you can do it. Look how close you are to your goal!

OMGoodness K8T...there were about 100 on the plate...50 when I quit eating them! If I had to exercise after everyone I would be called Jack Lalanne!

NO, You cannot!!!!

It's not harassment.... It's TOUGH LOVE!!! I know, you're not used to that. What you need is a steel-toed work boot up your butt to make the pain sink in, not a danged Ding Dong!!!

If you WANT to lose those last 10 lbs..... YOU have to REALLY work for it. You know that!!! You have been on this site long enough to know that. Now....

GET OFF YOU WHINING BUTT AND DO IT!!!

I'm not ashamed of myself. I wanted a 1/4 pie slab of the Kahlua pie from Marie Callendar's that I PAID FOR. But, oh no, I only got a 1 inch sliver and none of that fruit tarte on cheesecake that my SIL brought. I have nothing to be ashamed of. :p

Is it my fault my family (Angie and I) had to have 3 Thanksgiving dinners so everyone was satisfied?

Operator265

YOU decide how much of the food at those dinners that goes in your mouth. And, don't EVEN bring Angie into it. If it weren't for her, you'd have a whole lot more than 10 lbs to go.

Come'on EZ....you have to make up your mind here. How good will it feel to reach your goal? It's the holidays, and the chances to slip are going to be at every corner - if that's what you want to do.

So, what comments did you make about the knitting project?

Oh I know! I actually had way less of those great appetizers than I really wanted that's for sure! Since I started this journey I really do make better choices...sometimes not great ones but better!

Oh, it wasn't so much what I said really about her knitting project...she had it on the floor, stretched out, something was wrong with it she said...I said it looks like it is messed up here...and put my foot...in socks...on it...she said it was fine where I had my foot on it...I said " Well, it still looks messed up to me!"....I was told to get my foot off her project....

Oh dear.... :bomb: No wonder she was annoyed. What you did with her project was rather ungentlemanly of you - and just the other day you were lamenting the lack of civility and decorum on the television...tsk...tsk...

Ya' know sometimes tactful retreat is called for...You should have changed the angle you were looking at it and said, "Oh yeah, must have just been the way I was standing," rather than continue to point out where you thought her project was "messed up". Craft projects are about having fun and lovin' someone, not being perfect.

Now, go make up to her. Give her an unexpected hug :hug:and tell her what you said to us in your post.

If it wasn't for Angie I may have given "everything" up years ago...

Go on....:frypan:

In my behalf gals...I really didn't stand on the knitting project...I used my toe as my "pointer" to what didn't look right to me...since it was on the ground and she was on her knees straightening it out....

I asked her yesterday morning if she figured out what was wrong with it...she said yes...

I left it at that...

Looking back on that evening...it probably had more to do with how much I drank more than what I said about her knitting...
