Calorie Counters - A more calorie concious homemade pancake?

Anyone have a recipe for a from scratch pancake that is a bit lighter on the calories?
My traditional one didn't seem so bad...so I made it this morning and it worked out to be MUCH heavier than I thought. I'll suck it up this morning since they are sooo good and the kids love them, but there has to be a more calorie friendly from scratch option....(please no cottage cheese pancakes, I don't see my kiddos or hubby going for that!). Maybe something with oats? I have no idea. Mine are so light and fluffy and melt in your mouth *sigh*

I am also a calorie counter. I make mine out of 1/2 whole buckwheat and 1/2 whole wheat. You need baking powder, egg whites, a couple of tbs. of olive oil and unsweetened almond milk.
The whole wheat/buckwheat is excellent as opposed to white for many reasons. Buckwheat is especially good for young children--high in magnesium. This combo is very filling as well. Using egg whites will bring down the calorie count as will the unsweetened almond milk (1/2 the calories of skim) You can always top it with sugar free syrup (I wouldn't give it to children though) and 5 calorie Smart Squeeze butter. I hope this helps. You could even do without the olive oil--it is so good for you that I hesitate to tell you to axe it.
Note: if you like light you will want to really go heavy on the baking powder!

What are the measurements on those ingredients? I'd really like to try that!

Not quite a traditional pancake, however I LOVE making protein pancakes! I eat them several times a week.
1/3 c. Oatmeal
1/3 c. cottage cheese
2 egg whites
dash of vanilla, cinnamon and baking powder
packet of Splenda if you like a little sweeter taste.
Blend to a batter like consistency (I use an immersion/stick blender)
You can get creative with toppings. I usually throw some blueberries in while they are on the skillet. Top with syrup (I use SF), mashed banana, peanut butter....
Works out to about 200 calories (plus toppings).
Yummy!

Pancakes are really one of the things that I refuse to let go. Now, I haven't eaten them too many times this year. But, I limit myself to one portion and use light or diabetic syrup. There are two recipes that I use for my family.
