I went to my WW meeting this morning and got some great news: I have officially lost 50 pounds!
It has taken me just over 5 months and this is the lowest weight I have been in a long time. At my highest weight a few years ago I was in the low 350s so I've actually lost 90 lbs so far if you count that (but I don't really since I was off-plan for a couple years, lost, gained and lost some).
When the receptionist told me I'd reached the 50lb milestone, I almost started crying! I know people say this all the time and then regain but honestly I feel like this time it is for real, that I have actually changed the way I live and eat versus just thinking of it as a short-term diet. I love being able to do more active things and seeing how my body's endurance is improving. Being 'romantic' with my husband is fun again as opposed to being so turned off by my own body that I couldn't enjoy myself. Food-wise, I don't feel deprived and there's nothing strictly 'off limits' for me, but I prefer to eat better now and indulge in moderation. I love feeling in control. I have gone from a size 28 to 20 and lost a shoe size, too. I love people telling me that I am an inspiration to them. I love that the weight listed on my driver's license is now higher than my actual weight! I do 5Ks and spinning classes and am actually contemplating a triathlon in the future. There are so many good things about how I live now that I don't ever want to go back to how I used to be. I can't wait to see where I am at the next 50lb loss!
Anyway, I just had to celebrate and brag on myself a bit because I am so happy!
