I know that this has been talked about on different threads but couldn't remember where I saw them. Is there anyway that we can request certain people that we work with? I keep getting this one that acts all cocky and gives out all this advice that I find to be inconsistent with everyone else...such as:
When I started I was told that an HNS would buy me approx. 2 hours until I had to eat again. He told me no, it was 5 hours. The one I spoke with last night said absolutely NOT 5 hours, more like 2.
Then he told me not to work out more than 1 hour 5 times per week and then told my mom (who is on the exact same plan with the same struggles) that this program was designed for only 1/2 hour workouts 3 times per week...nothing more! What the heck???? No wonder I was starving all the time!
Then I was told by the 1st person I tt that you could have string cheese. He told my friend that string cheese was a no-no! That mozzarella was NOT on the plan since it was not block and you cannot shred it. Um yes it is in a block and yes you can shred it and some of my MRC cookbook recipes actually call for mozzarella!
I think there was something else but I cannot recall right now. It seems to be this one specific person that is giving misinformation. But I really want to work with one specific person that knows my weekly struggles. Do you think I can talk to her about it and see what she says? Is that wrong?

no i dont believe it is wrong. You are paying big bucks for this program, and if you rpefer to work with someone in particular, or NOT with someone, as the case may be, then you have every right, in my opinion.

I say that YOU are a paying customer and if you have a specific person you would prefer not to consult with, then they should honor that. Your reason is valid. If you continue to get inconsistent information, what other conclusion can there be. Perhaps you can handle it with discretion. If you do it in irritation, it will just make you look difficult. All the Best.

I was in my center this morning and there was a client waiting. When the next counselor pulled her file she said she had an appointment with the director. So I think you should just make an appointment with whomever you want to meet with. You don't even have to say why.

I agree. There are several people at my center who ask for certain counselors when they go in for WI. Just ask them.
I have been happy with different counselors so far. Each one has given me different insights that have been helpful.
You are paying for this service, You should get what you want.

You are paying for this program and can request to speak with a certain counselor. I was just told to write that individuals name next to yours when you sign in. I have done it before and you may wait a while longer but it does work and you will get to talk with whom you want. I too have had problems with newer consultants not knowing my struggles, etc and have felt horrible after talking with them so the next time I went in I requested a counselor that I am comfortable with and even told her about the person I had issues with and she said they are all trained the same, etc so would find out why that person told me what she did (ie that I can not eat pepperjack cheese and I had been eating it on plan for over a year and no one else had ever said anything).

The other thing to do would be find out when the counselor works that you like and only go in when they are working.

For my own clarification---does the HNS buy you 2 or 5 hours---I thought 5 myself.

Also--I was told no more than 200 minutes of exercise per week.

How the heck do you all put your answers following a specific paragraph of a "quote"--I just looked at my above response and I obviously don't know what I'm doing!

I believe the HNS buys you an extra 2 hours and for the most part I am able to eat within 7 hours of the previous meal.

My center told me no more than 4 hours of exercise per week.

I click the "Quote" box and when the Message area comes up, I put the cursor on the first letter I want deleted and hit the delete button on my keyboard until the cursor gets to where I want to keep the words. I then put the cursor on the first letter after the quote I want to keep and start deleting again. Be sure to keep the [Quote at the beginning and [/Quote] at the end. (I'm not meaning to sound like I'm talking down to you - it's hard to put something like this in words so it is not misinterpreted. You can also highlight the area you want to delete and hit the delete button, it that makes sense to you.)

2 people told me 2 hours...1 person said 5. I am going to say majority rules and stick with 2. The way one explained to me is that they want your system burning actual food at least every 5 hours and a HNS doesn't count as physical food.

Welcome QueenD! I love this board, it has gotten me thru this first month.
You can have a HNS (your drink) as a snack in between meals. You are supposed to eat every 5 hours on program, but like today I ate breakfast at 8 but won't be able to eat lunch until 3...so I will have my HNS as a snack at 1 to buy me 2 hours time. Does that make sense?

Yes that does. Thanks! I never knew that was what the drinks are for though. Are there other threads on here too for the MRC diet. I want to do this right this time since it is costly and usually you can get ideas from others that are helpful, at least for me they are.

Well on the green menu (not sure which menu you are on) you are supposed to have:

1 with breakfast
1 with lunch
and up to two as snacks

My menu is yellow Day 1-4 but that is what is on my menu too.

What I meant about other peoples ideas is the food part and how they do there menus. And their everyday journey. I always thought the HNS were for energy and help with the weight loss, then a freind of my joined a few weeks ago and she called them protein drinks. They were always called enhansers when I did MRC 10yrs ago. Some things are different now than what it was.

Hi,

I go to the center on 120th and Blondo too. I know who you are talking about and I did find that certain people worked better for me. So I have started going when I know that person is working and requesting her. It just works for me better to work with the same person. I will have to say at the beginning I got information that was different or confusing so I learned to write stuff down and be specific. This is your program and you pay for it so do what makes you feel good!

It is so good to know that I'm not the only one! I feel kind of bad since I'm sure anyone that goes there knows who I am talking about but it is just frustrating!
How do you know when certain people are working? I go the same time the same days and it's not always the same people working.

Glad to know there are a lot of you on this thread that go to the same center as I do. I have a feeling I know who it is you are referring to - does her name start with an S?????

I have a friend that went to the Bellevue center and she was saying that her cousin had a problem with a gal at their center too so would request a certain person when she would go weigh in.

You can always call the center on the day that you are planning on coming in and ask who is working and if they say someone you really like then ask what their schedule is for that day because they may not be working all day long. You can also ask for their week schedule if you so choose. I have done that. Oh and I found out to put a name next to mine when I sign in from the consultant that I really like.

Maybe we really need to start an Omaha thread to compare notes, etc for various reasons.

Hello there........I also go to the 120th & Blondo location and agree we need to start an Omaha thread! I have been told different things about exercise too, one person said 3x per wk 30 min the next said everyday for 30 min? BIG difference. Soooo who is this "S" person, I think we all need to help each other and if I am getting wrong info. I also want to make sure I don't go to her! Thanks ladies, I LOVE having you all here for support!

Actually, I was speaking of a "male" at the center but I think that pamperedmomoftwins is speaking on a female starting with "S".
I took the advice last night and requested someone and they were fine with it! When I had my one-on-one I told her my concerns about seeing multiple people and how frustrating it can be when no one knows what is going on with you and it takes a half hour for them to catch up. She said that it is just policy that you see multiple people so that you can get other point of views...and maybe something from another staffer will help you better than the others. It makes sense but after all the misinfo and inconsistancies of everyone I would rather stick with my "one". She said it was totally fine as long as she was there. Not a problem with me...if she is there I will wait, if not I will go w/someone else.
She suggested that we do a tatiana reading next week and I asked if we could also do measurments since I'm over a month and she was happy totally fine with that! It feels good to speak up and get what I want!
BTW- 4.5lbs down yesterday!!!!! My plateau is (hopefully) over for awhile!

I am glad that you wrote a name down last night and were able to speak with her and get what you want. Congrats on your weight loss this week too! Great job! The most I ever lost in 1 week was 3 1/2 pounds! I would love a higher weight loss.

I almost wanted to do a tanita Friday as well as measurements but it was busy. I just wanted to see where I was since I am kind of starting over. Maybe there will be time on Thursday.

Okay, after reading this thread, I was in a panic. Main reason is I'm an insomniac (much to my centers best efforts) and I have to stretch myself to the limits on meals and HNS' to make it through the day. I read this and called my center (bellevue). I had always been told it was 4 - 4 1/2 hrs max (treat it same amount of time as a meal) I told her I had talked to someone from the Blondo office and they had mentioned 2 hours on the HNS. She said "Nope, it resets your time so you can take it another 4 hours or so without a meal". I've been told the same by other counselors there. We've had this discussion because there are nights I may have to have a 5th if I'm up for more than 20 hours (happens more than you may think). So, that's what I've heard.

I really wish all the people could get on the same page. There are so many details to this plan. I think it would help if corporate took the time to write out all the details, send it out and give everyone a copy as they sign up and keep one posted in each office.
