Do any of you take these on a regular basis?

I'm currently taking Vitamin D as recommended by my GP because I have a deficiency. But other than that I don't take anything else.

I take a Multi, a grotesque amount of Calcium + D, and Glucosamine & Chondroitin, all per my doctor. I also take Feverfew daily, even though my Dr thinks I'm a lunatic for it, because it helps my migraines.

Vit D 1000 mg daily on Dr's recommendation. Edit: Actually I have dropped to every other day due to indications I might be getting too much D. May be adjusting after next test for blood level.

Fish Oil 1200 mg and 1 baby aspirin daily - started this on my own based on data I had read and my Dr ok'd later when I first became her patient.

Multi daily.

Calcium carbonate to supplement dietary calcium if food log shows I was low that day.

I take a multivitamin, calcium w/ D, magnesium, fish oil supplements and baby aspirin every day.

Feel great too! :D

I take these:

Glucosamine & Chondroitin
Vitamin D & Calcium

iron supplement (I have been anemic)

These are all per my doctor.

i take a Bcomplex and a combined iron and vitamin c supplement because my doctor found a deficiency in both B vitamins and iron, the vitC is so the iron is absorbed properly.

Right now just a multivitamin. Thinking of trying probiotics (some intestinal issues) and don't have the nerve to take fish oil that's sitting in the fridge. I don't like fish at all and the fishy burps I'll get when I take them (used to take them many years ago, the burps is what made me stop taking them) is making me hesitant.

Does anyone have any pointers on how to prevent the fishy burps? And also, does anyone else have an issue with swallowing pills? I tend to gag on them, no matter how much water I take them with.

I try and take a multivitamin every day. I was taking Milk Thistle but currently, I'm not taking any other supplements.

Oh, and I'm so with you Amber on that fish oil. Gross fishy burps. Totally turned me off.

I take:

Multi Vit w/DHA
Calcium w/D
Omega 3 Fish Oil

Oh and Iron

Try supplementing with flax seed oil and include sesame and sunflower oils in your diet. You'll get the same result without the fish. ;)

Also, chewables or drinkable! My 13 year old can't swallow pills, so I look for adult chewables for her. Recently, my husband found a powder kind that you add to a water bottle.

Thank you, Rhonda! I'll be sure to look for flaxseed oil capsules. At your suggestion I checked to see if One-A-Day makes a chewable vitamin and it turns out, it does.

I take a multi-vitamin for chickies over 40 (how'd THAT happen??) and also a Lecithin pill. My dad's dad dropped from a heart attack at 43 and my dad's doc told him he had the same weird lipid thing in his blood and that a soy lecithin a day would solve the problem. Dad's 71 so I guess it worked LOL I take one too!

What's with all the baby aspirin??? is that for prevention of heart attack?

My doctor, after careful scrutinization of my food plans and macro's... okay'ed me to stop taking ANY supplements except my baby daily aspirin due to my blood clotting disorder :)

Do you find the Glucosamine and Chondroiten help with achy joints? If so have any of you tried the Elations drink? I'm horrible at remembering to take pills, but would probably remember the drink, if it's not high cal or tastes like doodoo.

09-29-2009, 06:18 PM
I take a multi vitamin once a day, fish oil capsules 3 times a day and biotin 3 times a day.

09-29-2009, 06:18 PM
oh!! I am so gonna read this thread later! Just marking my spot by posting now. I am tired all the time, and was anemic years ago, I don't take a daily vitamin so looking for some options....

09-29-2009, 08:44 PM
Glucosamine & Chondroitin in my savior when it comes to my knees. DH takes it too, as per the Dr, for his carpal tunnel.

09-29-2009, 10:58 PM
I take calcium pills supplemented with magnesium and vitamin D.

Thank you, Rhonda! I'll be sure to look for flaxseed oil capsules.
Just wanted to add that I can back up Rhonda's suggestion on the flax seed oil capsules (I have a seafood allergy myself so it's an alternative I looked into long ago).

You may also want to consider eating actual flax seeds, which is what I do now instead of taking the oil pills. I add ground flax seeds to various foods I eat, especially smoothies. :)

I do not absorb vitamins and minerals like I should, so in addition to getting as many vitamins and minerals in my food, I take super vitamins and vitamin C. I am very devoted to natural healing for a severe candida issue, so I also take a rotation of supplements, antifungals, probiotics, etc. prescribed by a naturopath.

09-29-2009, 11:07 PM
I don't take any except an iron pill every once in a while if I can't get enough iron in through food (I'm anemic).

09-29-2009, 11:20 PM
shcierf - From what I've read, chrondrotin doesn't do anything but glucosamine definitely does. I have osteoarthritis and was told by my doctor that I should take glucosamine. I can definitely feel a difference when I take it versus when I don't.

09-29-2009, 11:40 PM
I have a big bottle of it, I'm gonna get it out, set it next to the coffee pot and take it. If I set it by the coffee pot, I won't forget it.:D

WildThings - I've started to think I might have a candida problem, as well, after doing a lot of research. What problems were you experiencing, if you don't me asking? And has the naturopath's regime worked for you??

I'm curious, why are so many of you taking baby aspirin?
