Hey lovelies,

Well, it's been an interesting week around here. Seriously, I wonder at times whether I'm living in some kind of soap opera.

My neighbour died on Friday. I came home from work and there were police everywhere - on the balcony, looking in my windows etc. I was really happy about that because the place was a tip! Anyway, his daughter came to clean out the place over the weekend and told me that he was on parole after serving 7 years in jail for sex offences! Yeah, and they moved him in next to a single woman. I'm really angry about this - I can appreciate that he's got a right to privacy and that he could well have reformed, but surely I have the right to remain safe in my own home! So I'm in the middle of writing a letter to my MP. Not sure how much good it will do, but at least I'm guaranteed a response.

Apart from that, things are going OK. I've been exercising really hard and eating reasonably well which is good. Just waiting for the pay off to come through on the scales. I actually had a sort out of my work clothes and will be taking several tops and bottoms in for recycling at some stage - once I get around to ironing it. I'm not holding my breath for that to be any time soon. I loathe ironing!

My plants are still alive and dare I say thriving. I'm thinking about buying some more this weekend along with some pots and potting mix, but we'll see how that goes.

The menu today was:

B - muffin and vegemite

S - yoghurt and berries

S - muesli bar

L - leftover chicken stirfry, mandarin

D - lentil and bacon soup and flatbread.

IM here...
got glasses and cant get use to them. I kinda have a sicky feeling going on all the time.
I guess I will be taking them off today to exercise..
food -
breakfast - bar and berries
snack - string cheese
lunch = stirfry with pork
dinner- chicken fajitas with the last of the bells from my garden
water- a full gallon

Hi chicks - I hope you are all doing well! Food has been spotty..but, not horrible. As always - every day is a new beginning. (whether or not you've eaten well or not the day before)

stretches & strengthening
lots of water

put fork down between bites

breakfast - egg white scramble with ketchup, pnb toast, grapes

lunch - turkey sandwich, pickle, tomatoes

snack -yogurt

dinner - salmon with lemon, green beans, sweet potato

MJ - hope you had a chance to rest that knee last weekend. Just think when the whole thing is recovered from the surgery - how much better the quality of your life will be!! :) You take care now.

Nicolen - good grief - no one let you know you were living next to a sex offender. :( That's scary. In the US - you are suppose to be notified - if the system is working. Two streets over a sex offender out of jail went back to living with his mom. We got a post card. It's creepy. Glad your plants are doing well. It's spring where you live, right.

drammie - yes, new glasses are hard. Hang in there. Glug glug on the water. ;)

Nicolen ~ I hate to iron as well. I'm fine once I start it's just the getting started part that gives me issues...lol.

dgramie ~ I felt the same way when I went straight from no glasses at all to bi-focals. Took a bit to adjust to the depth difference.

beverlyjoy~ how right you are everyday is a NEW day and we need to leave yesterday behind and focus on the now. No use whipping ourselves up over something we ate that we shouldn't have or something we should have done. Can't turn back the clock.

I normally don't get into Mondays but this weekend was very emotional and somewhat stressful, so I look forward to my mind being occupied all day. I spent part of yesterday trying to unpack some stuff. It's hard to believe I just shuffle through boxes and then close the door after I find what I need for the moment. Just struggling to do this so it's going slow.

I'm slinking back again. I've not been much of an accountability partner and I apologize for that. My head has not been in a good place with my eating, but I'm ready to face the demons again. My plan for today is to eat healthier with lots of variety and no refined or added sugar. I began the day by pouring out my leftover regular Pepsi. Small steps, right?

Hi everyone. I've been around but haven't been posting much. My computer at home is in the shop and I've been busy at work, so no time for my personal stuff!! The nerve! ha!

Anyway, it is going fairly well. I've been exercising/going to the gym and that's been great. I have good days and bad days with food, but I'm working hard to get back into the zone where all the food days are good. Getting there!

Rhonda: Dumping out Pepsi is a BIG step! Good for you.

Jab: Sorry you are having a tough time. You are going through something very painful, so you'll need to be gentle with yourself!

Beverly: Good way to put it that every day is a new beginning!

dgramie: New glasses are tough. I need to go in and get some new ones too, but I'll put it off a little longer.....

Nicolen: That's really scary. I'm glad he's no longer there. Stay safe!

Good Morning!!! I woke up w/ a horrible sinus headache and just felt icky this am. I actually called in sick to work....something I rarely do. My knee hurt really bad too and I felt kind of feeverish....figured I would be better off staying home today, rather than trying to push it.

nicolen--Oh my, I don't blame you for being so upset!!! Keep up the good work, you are doing awesome!

dgramie--Ooh, hope you get used to them soon!

So resting my knee as much as I could this weekend, may have helped a bit, but it is super sore this am. I am going to stay on track w/ pain meds, ice, and elevation and REST today and see how it goes. I may need to call the drs office tomorrow.

I am starting to feel a bit better.....I am going to take a SUPER hot shower....that sounds really good right now.

Since I felt crappy this am, I didn't get on the scale. I will do that tomorrow and update my ticker. then it's ONLY down from there! LOL!!!!

Hi ladies
I have just come back to this website, I am trying to lose weight, I think this accountability is great!
I started last week and I have worked out everyday, I usually walk/run on the treadmill, I try to do about 50 minutes and then do jari love three times last week. I feel good,i feel lighter, the scale isnt moving and it gets very fustrating, especially when you see the weight lost on here.
I am controlling on the eating part now, trying to get it right and proportions right. Good luck to everybody else this week and prayfor me that my week goes well too!

GirlyGirl~ I know pouring that pepsi down the drain was hard to do. That use to be one of my addictions. I think it's a combo of the caffeine and the sugar and yes I still miss it. If I close my eyes I can almost taste a big iced up glass, how sick is that!! Congrats on another big step forward today!!

Lottie ~ good to hear the b'day was a good one and you had fun.

Today was super busy at work, which got my mind out of the funk. So that was a good thing.

A customer brought me a nice big box of chocolates today at work as a thank you. I unwrapped them , sniffed, smiled then wrote help yourself on the top of the box and walked away...lol. I hope they are all gone when I go back in tomorrow...lol.

I came home famished though. Played with the dog, split my soup with my bird and walked into the room holding my boxes of stuff did a spin around the room and walked right back out. I had good intentions going in but couldn't seem to make myself unpack anything. But I have to do some kind of maneuvering this week because my son is coming to stay with me for the weekend :carrot: and he will need a place to sleep. Which means I atleast have to move the clutter off and away from the bed.

Hey everyone,

I just have to post this - I was back to my ticker weight this morning! Yay! I was going to adjust it so it was correct, but yeah, I don't need to now!

Anyway, session with he who is yummy and evil. He's definitely going to Antarctica in about 4 weeks, but Afghanistan is a bit up in the air at the moment. So, yeah, have to find a new trainer. Hopefully one who's just as yummy but slightly less evil. He's going to get my email address before he goes, so that sounds promising. Anyway, he said that all the staff are talking about how good I'm looking, so it's getting noticeable.

I'm still writing the letter to my MP. I don't think that there's much they can do - privacy laws here are very strict, but at least it's something they have to officially acknowledge. My boss is going to check the letter over for me before I send it, so that's good.

And I had asparagus for dinner tonight. I looove asparagus!

The menu today was:

B - muffin and vegemite

S - yoghurt and berries

S - muesli bar

L - soup and flatbread, mandarin

D - Quiche, asparagus, colesaw (I know it sounds strange, but that's what I wanted).

Dgramie, my sympathies for the new glasses. I hate that whole adjustment thing that goes on!

Beverly, that salmon sounds sooo yummy! I love fish and lemons.

Jab, awesome job with the chocolate! I'm impressed - I don't think I could do that!

Rhonda, yay good to see you back! Well done for dumping the Pepsi!

Good morning!

I made it through on-plan day #1. I did have a horrible headache before I went to bed, but I slept deeply and woke up refresed. It has been a while since that happened! I needed the reminder that not all symptoms of sugar detox are negative.

Jab - Sauerkraut, huh? Not sure that will be on my menu anytime soon, but it is a healthy option. :D
Parveen - Welcome back! I will certainly add you to my prayers.
MJ - Are you feeling better today?

Today, I will continue concentrating on eating healthy and will start drinking more water. My goal is 8 cups today.

I feel so much better today, like night and day--really! Very glad that I stayed home yesterday to rest. I have packed my healthy lunch and I am going to the gym tonight. I still have to take it easy, which is hard!!!, but I also need to re-develop my routine.

today was another good day, I walked on the treadmill and did some weights too. I am actually writing down everything i eat and then logging it into Dailyplate.com. This is helping me a lot, when I see what my goal t eat should be and what it was. arms are hurting from the weights, but it is a good hurt!!

Mj5 = glad you feel better and good thoughts to all for the rest of the day!

Hey guys,

How goes it? Me, I'm a little bit miserable. The cold has flared up again and the boss ended up sending me home from work. I'm feeling better now than I was - the cold and flu meds are slowly kicking in, but yeah. Two years without getting a cold and I get two in a month!

So it's been pretty quiet today. I'm going to see how I feel tomorrow before deciding whether to go to the gym and work - I want to, because I've realised that I really hate sitting around in front of the TV these days. Talk about a change in attitude! And I'm supposed to be going out for dinner tomorrow night and it's probably not a good look to take a sick day and then go out...

Today's menu was a little bit messy, but I guess that's what happens when you're sick.

B - muffin and vegemite

S - yoghurt

L - fruit salad and ice cream - that was weird; I NEVER crave ice cream!

D - teriyaki beef stirfry

Beverly, I hope everything went well with your Mum.

nicolen~ I'm so sorry you got blasted with the cold again and so soon. That is miserable. I hope this time round it goes by the wayside much quicker than before.

Feeling quite a bit better today. The cough is much much less and I am so happy about that. Work has been so busy the last two days and I expect the same today. Helps to keep my mind occupied but leaves me very drained when I get off so that I am less productive than I want to be.

Hey everyone! Went to the gym, today was weight lifting. I didn't get there as early as I should have, so I had to hurry. I think that was a good workout though, with fewer resting minutes. My arms feel a little shaky now. ha!

A couple people mentioned my spin class comments. You know, while I'm in it, I can't really say that I am having a GREAT time. The instructors are good, so it makes it more fun, but I do watch the clock a lot, hoping it will be done soon. But, spin has been the best cardio workout I have done. It is great for your legs, too, and it just is such a good feeling for the rest of the day. I think it really helped me lose some weight. I have felt so much stronger since I have started that class.

Food choices are back in line now. It took awhile to get my discipline back, but I think I'm doing much better.

Rhonda: Would adding Crystal Light to your water help? I did that at the very beginning so that I would get more water in, and then I went to just water. Glad you're back on track, you're doing great!

Jab: Glad to hear you're getting rid of that cough. So annoying!!!

Nicolen: Darn! I hate getting sick! I hope you get better soon.

Parveen: I use Daily Plate too. I think it helps to see what you're eating!

Slashnl - I heard spinning is very good, it looks tough too! i feel you about the arms, i did too many squats and my butt is killing me today!

Girlygirlsebas - I have trouble drinking water too, I use crystal light too, it is sugar free and very low calories

I had abad day! I worked out, started really well, great breakfast and great lunch, then went to walgreen and bought a white chocolate truffle bar!! i said to myself one serving is all i will have, but it didnt happen and the bar was devoured in minutes!! so I am very disspointed in myself. I have a habit to self sabbotage, especially when I receive compliments, I dont know why! well, hubby told me I look good and am losing weight, and i start sabotaging got to control thiS. help me with any adivice you have.

I am going to be sore tomorrow. Yummy trainer worked me very hard - think lunges, burpees, press ups, squats, crunches and there was more as well. And up and down the stairs carrying weights. Soreness awaits me!

Not sure whether I'll go into work tomorrow - boss pulled me aside today and asked whether I should be there because I was coughing. I feel fine, but there's one woman who's giving me absolute grief about coming in sick. I'm not sick. Boss also asked if I was eating healthy etc - I did point out that I've lost 31 lbs this year and I certainly haven't been doing that by eating rubbish! So, yeah. I'm thinking why bother at the moment and might just have a long weekend.

I was suppose to go out for dinner tonight, but the person that I was going out with cancelled on me at the last moment. I'm a bit angry about that and about the meeting with the boss, so I reacted rather badly - by going to the mall and buying Chinese for dinner. Stupid of me.

The menu today was:

L - beef teriyaki stirfry leftovers, fruit salad

D - lemon chicken and fried rice

Hi Chicks...the last couple days have been crazy. My mom's surgery was rescheduled. She's been sick - but, is feeling better. Her surgery will be in a few weeks.

My food has been OK - down .5 pound when I weighed today. It's two sticks of butter and I'll take it. :)

My sister is coming for an eight day visit. :D:D It's been over a year since I've seen her. I am so excited.

Today I go to the doctor was a check up on my anemia. I think it's gone - but, we have to keep checking.

Hi everyone. Made it through spin class this morning. It was ridiculously hard and I know that I was not the only one who was just dripping sweat. TMI, I'm sure. Feels good to have that class done for the week. I go on Tuesday and Thursday, so it makes me happy when I've done both. Tomorrow I'll have a little easier work out day. Eating was on plan yesterday and I'm going to have to be really careful today because I'm going out for lunch. Must be careful!

Beverly: How cool that you get to see your sister!

MJ: Stay sane through the busy times!

Nicolen: Ya, that would be irritating to have your boss question your eating habits. Whatever!

Parveen: First of all, forgive yourself. You just have to keep fighting those urges for the treats. We all stumble, but just don't let yourself stay down! It will get easier.

Hello ladies, I'm doing good. seems I am officially back on track.

today is a weird menu as I am going out to state college pa today to see a movie (about 2-3 hours away) and we'll be eating dinner there, and then seeing a movie and after the movie we plan to eat at a diner on the way back so I have sort of 'banked' most of my cals for that.

l: 1 cup black bean chili
d: taco salad with black beans, no meat, no cheese, no sour cream

Thanks for the support ladies, I eat lightly for dinner and started againt his morning. I think the toughest time is from lunch to dinner time. I seem to atart grazing at that time. I knwo I am bored, but what to do, I am thinking of drinking water through that time and that might get me through, I guess i have to go one minute and a time!

Ok, I will concede that I'm sick now. I went to the gym, intending to go to work afterwards and struggled through my workout. Had a shower and got changed and decided that no, I didn't want to go to work and bussed home. Just as well - I just got home and started coughing up a lung again. Anyway, I rang in sick then rang for a doctor's appointment and I've got bronchitis.

It was actually funny - you'll have to understand a bit of the background to appreciate this. When I was a baby my immune system was pretty much non existant and I basically got every bug going around till I was around 15. I'm very healthy these days, but the size of my medical file has to be seen to be believed! I have a new GP who I hadn't seen before and the look on her face when she pulled out my file....

I don't actually feel sick, I'm not running a fever, no issues with sinusitis and my lungs are fine... So I'm on strict orders to not go anywhere near the gym till at least Monday which means no spin and to take it easy and don't do anything too strenuous this weekend. Except my parents are coming over tomorrow and this place looks like a tip... I'll do what I can - I'm more tired than anything else.

So yeah. Quiet weekend for me, I think.

MJ, sounds like things are going well for you. Hopefully you'll have some time soon to catch up.

Beverly, go you with the weight loss! Brilliant! How did you go with the doctor's?

Diane, go you with the spin! I'm living vicariously through you for spin this weekend, OK?

Hi chicks! Life has been busy. My sister is here from California for a week. Tomorrow DH is going to Cleveland to pick up my stepmom. My mom has been over practically the whole time since my sister arrived. Monday - my DS, DIL, & GS are coming for three days. Yikes. Lots of company.

I have been enjoying time with my sister, indeed.

My mom's face/eye lid/cancer surgery is being rescheduled to be done by a different doctor in the group that specializes in that area.

Today I made a HUGE pot of beef vegetable soup.

Slash - so glad you made it through your spin class.

MJ - glad you are getting to the gym. Hang in there!!

Nicolen - I hope you're better soon. Drink lots of water and rest when you can. The doctor padded and wrapped my foot/ankle and it helps. It won't cure it...but, it buys me some time.

Parveen - it IS one moment at a time some days. Maybe write down things you can do to detour you from eating between times - water, a phone call, deep breathing, take a walk, journal. Good luck.

Good Morning everyone! I am up way, way too early this am and I can't even blame the dogs today! LOL!!! I have no idea why I woke up so early, but at least I know I can take a nap later. Pretty sad when you get up thinking about when you can nap, but I've been wide awake since 3:30am, so I think I deserve a nap!

Diane--How are you doing? How is spin class?

nicolen--Hope you are finally feeling better! That's funny (well, not really...you know what I mean!) about your medical file. Sounds like the file for my knee....just keeps getting bigger, too!

jab--Glad to hear you are finally feeling better too. Hope work slows down a bit...it's good to be busy, but not so busy that you are drained at the end of the day.

Rhonda--How are you doing w/ getting enough water? I struggle at home. At work I drink lots. Not sure what the connection is there. Hmm, I better figure that one out!

lottie--Keep at it, you are doing great!

Parveen--ok, bad day the other day....I'm sure you dusted yourself off and kept at it! Yep, if it takes going one minute at a time, that that's what you'll do.

Beverlyjoy--CONGRATS on the weight loss! Hope your mom feels better! Have a great visit w/ your sister!!! Thanks for the reminder about the reward chart! I put it back in the cupboard when my nephew came over...didn't want to explain, and I haven't gotten it back out. I will do that now. You know I love makeup! What shade of lipstick are you looking at? Enjoy all of your company!


So, even through all of the busy, hectic-ness at work, I was going to the gym. Of course I still can't do my 'normal' workouts yet, but at least the routine of going and doing something is good.

Yesterday I did a little retail therapy. Didn't find much, but I did find a bathing suit on clearance for $10. It's two pieces and really doesn't look that bad. Now I need to get the info for the water aerobics classes at my gym. They have a 'therapy' pool (it's heated to a higher temp that a regular pool), so that will be excellent for getting my knee going again.

Unfortunately, I was horrible w/ food. Boy, it's scary how fast old, bad habits come rushing back. I was busy around the house (didn't eat), left to go shopping (again...didn't eat), so by the time I thought about eating I realized I was starving and not feeling well (hmmm, maybe because I hadn't eaten???) and overate on junk. Then my body let me know that it was NOT happy w/ my choices.

Today is a new day and a fresh start. I have dinner all planned--some whole wheat pasta w/ lemon zest, evoo, garlic, mushrooms, fresh parsley, and fresh grated romano cheese and grilled chicken breast.

This coming week is going to be hectic again at work, so I will apologize now if I just pop in quick at times. The good news is, that as of Friday at 4pm I am on vacation for a whole week!!! This was planned long before my surgery and hubby and I didn't want to change it, so we didn't! No major plans, some cleaning, just spending time w/ hubby--his work schedule has been weird too.

Phew. Not sure if anyone is still reading, LOL! I'll probably be around later too...my brother fixed the wireless internet on my laptop--not sure what happened, but it just stopped working for some reason. Gotta love having a brother to call to fix that kind of stuff!

Today more company is coming! I am making good choices and trying not to eat too much.

It's wonderful to have so much family around. I feel like it's xmas!

MJ - you're so funny - thinking about your nap when you wake up. But, at least its the weekend, so you CAN nap. When I belonged to a health center they had a therapy pool. It's so wonderful. You will LOVE it. The heat of the water will help your knee and all your other pieces and parts. I don't know what color lipstick I'll get...put I dearly need it!
