Default Hello Again

I joined this community a while ago, tried dieting, stopped dieting, and now started again. I was (am) so sick of being overweight, and stuck at 165 lbs. So, for the last month, I've been running 4-5 miles 6 days a week (well, I went swimming today) and watching what I've been eating. And, during that time, I went on vacation, and managed not to gain weight!

My Achilles heel is sweets, so I've been trying to substitute some things for the oversized Monster cookies and delicious sweets I've grown accustomed to. I've found a love for 100-calorie snack packs, especially the Milano cookies, Hostess cakes, and Oreo snacks. Also, I always have jello fat free instant pudding on hand, and some non-fat whipped topping when I'm feeling saucy.

Anyways, after a month, I'm glad to say I'm down to 160 lbs, which is great after being stuck at 165 FOREVER. My goal is to get my BMI into the normal range (~140 lbs for me). I see girls all the time that are thin, and for once in my life, I'd like to be that girl. I'd like to feel comfortable in my clothing, and feel attractive to myself. I also have MS, so keeping my body in peak condition really is in my best interest. I am also an active performer, so much of my time is spent in front of a crowd, and at bars with delicious beer... another temptation. Another interesting tidbit is that I used to work in an eating disorder treatment facility, so I am perhaps over-sensitive to talking about dieting and all of that. But, it's nice to finally have a place to do that!

Now, if someone could just give me the ultimate low-cal, low-sugar cookie recipe, I'll be in heaven.

Sounds like you've got a plan and are committed to achieving your goals. I can't wait until I'm fit enough to start jogging, let alone running. I want to wish you the best of luck and welcome back.

Modify your current sugar cookie recipe as follows:

Add: FF milk powder to boost the protein content

Substitute: WW flour for white, and Splenda for the sugar

Cut the oil in 1/4 to 1/2 and add applesauce instead for liquid

Ideas: add walnuts and raisins/craisins for variety
