My daugter just turned 15 months on the 1st, and I still look 4 months pregnant! She was born 11lbs, 4 ounces, so I gained a TON of weight! I probably gained around 50 lbs... I was SO big!! Now its over a year later, and I hate my body... is this normal?
hello! it probably is normal to hate it sometimes, but its good to try and focus on the positive too- it made a beautiful baby girl! If you weigh 180 pounds and are 6'6'' tall, doesnt that put you at a healthy weight?
I assume your 5'6" right? I'm 5'4", gained 45 lbs and had a 6 lb 15 oz baby. It's almost a year later and I'm still 10 lbs up from my starting weight and also hate my body. So yes, it's probably normal.
That said, you've found a GREAT support group here at 3FC. Welcome! You can lose the baby weight for good.
Wow, I had a ten-pound baby and thought that was big! I'm very impressed! I'm guessing that after having a 11 lb 4 oz baby, your body is still in recovery mode. Having said that, please know that it IS possible to lose the baby weight. It looks like you've already lost ten pounds so that's great.
Don't waste precious time hating your body; your body is a miracle that carried and gave birth to a beautiful big baby. Stick around, read, find a plan that fits your lifestyle and you'll soon be on the road to a healthy weight. You can do this!
Wow...thats one big chicka...I worked in the NICU years ago and we had a 12 pounder...funny!!!!She looked like a sumo wrestler compared to the 2 pounders.I gained over 60 lbs with all 3 babies! Its possible to be happy with your body again!

Harismm, my ten pound baby spent 2 days in the NICU when he was born and he looked really funny in there, because most of the other babies were preemies. He was 5 times their size!
My daughter was in the NICU for a week, her roommate was 3lbs... it was so funny to see the difference!!! Thank you for all your support... I am trying the Jillian Michaels Shred 30 thing... its day 2, and I feel good after doing it...
I think it is normal, at least I hope so. My daughter is about to turn 2, she was 8lbs 10 oz. I gained about 40lbs. I was not at my ideal weight at the time I got pregnant either. I lost about 20lbs after having her. The last 30lbs I wanted to lose have been sitting around for the past 1 1/2 years. I tried to lose weight fast, but that doesn't work for me. I started something that has worked for me for the past 3 weeks after finally accepting that it will take time to lose the weight. I have hated my body for at least 2 years now and it's time for a change. The way I feel about myself affects my interactions with others. I want to be happy with myself again so I can be happy with others. So for me it is normal that I hate my body, but I'm finally dedicated to doing something about it.
Daisyray... that is exactly how I feel... Its good to know that I am not the only one. I am dedicated to doing something about it too... day 3 here I come!
