Default 1400 and not losing...

I have been eating about 1400 a day (I had one day of 2100) and I run about 4/5 times a week for 3/4 miles. I am also trying to keep the carb/protein/fat percentages in the recommended areas, but I haven't lost an ounce! It's only been a week, but I wanted to record at least a small loss. My BMR recommends 1400 calories, but should I cut calories, give it more time, or change the types of food?

I feel like I eat pretty well, but I do struggle with eating enough protein. Most of the protein I get comes from dairy and soy. My husband is a vegetarian and I don't like preparing separate dinners for myself so I eat mostly vegetarian too.

I lost all of my weight in the past with WW, but I was spending too much money on buying diet food instead of really making a lifestyle change.

I wouldnt cut the calories.. but actually increase them! With all the running you are doing, I dont think you are actually giving yourself enough fuel. (I am a runner too.. just temporarily side tracked due to a knee injury thus the weight gain..) Protien is important for runners too. You want to strive for 40% of your calories coming from protien as a runner. Have you thought about adding protien powder to a smoothie?

riley--you and I run about the same distance...I also do some strength training...I lose but very slowly...my intake is 1500..I do not "eat back" my calories or whatever..I would say give it more time....if after another full week you have no loss, than you can play with the numbers.

I haven't tried protein powders. Is there a certain type/brand that is better? What would you recommend?
