Default Anyone here doing C25K?

I decided that I'd try to do the Couch to 5K program. I had plans to start yesterday, but my gallbladder was acting up ( hi cfmama!) and I knew that exercise would not go well with the feeling that someone was stabbing me in the middle of my gut with a hot spear (and that the people behind me at the gym would not be appreciative of the accompanying gas!).

ANYHOO, I went tonight and wooooo! Like the punchline to the old Little Johnny joke, "Rectum? Damn near killed 'em!" I was only able to get about 15 minutes in before I had to just walk for the last 20 minutes.

So, I'll keep it up, but I think it's gonna be more like Couch to 5K in 9 months rather than 9 weeks!

I started running with the c25k program. It took me more than 9 weeks too. In fact it was about 4 months

Just keep at it!

I'm doing it too... Just starting my second round of week 2. I'll be taking longer than 9 weeks as well.

I have considered it, and even tried to do day 1(lasted 10 minutes of the overall 20 before I felt nauseas), but I'm wayyyy.....too out of shape!! I'm going to try again when I am a little more used to a good cardio workout.

I made it to week 2 day 1 and then I hurt my knee. I guess it is not the right thing for me at this time. I am sitting here with a brace on and hoping the pain improves so I can go walking again. It has been 3 days now. Ice, ice baby.

I've been thinking about it: but I don't think I'm quite ready yet. I'll probably revisit it when we get back from vacation in August.

I am doing it and just did Week 5 Day 2 this morning. I can hardly believe it!!

I have never...not even before my weight gain...not even as a teenager... been a runner so just to start the program was a huge leap for me. To be more than 5 weeks in is amazing!

There is a thread in the exercise forum that I have been following about this program too but not many of those chicks are in the 100+ club (there are some though, I think)

I am really enjoying it and have made a commitment to not beat myself up if I have to repeat a day (or a week) but to just keep at it. I bought the C25K app for my ipod so I can listen to my own music and be cued when to walk and run and it is really good.

Give it a try!! I am pretty sure that if I can do it...you all can do (knee injuries being the exception for now )

I'm doing it- I just finished week 2 (although i'm thinking i might do week 2 again- don't think i'm really ready to move on to the next level!) I do think it is doable though- i feel great afterwards, and pretty proud since i'm not really a runner either. Nice to hear others are not motoring through all the levels either! I figure any day where my butt is not on the couch is a positive change :-) I recommend it!
