WAY TO GO KADY!!! Congratulations on such a wonderful loss. I am not going to WI this week. I don't show any gain on my scales I think I'm possibly the same. That's OK though. I'll wait till next week and see how that goes. I really need to get those numbers moving! I did take a short walk today though and I want to fit one in later today also. That will help a lot. Hope everyone else has great luck at the scales. Have a great week end all....Sis :D

Tina

How is everyone!?!?!

Kady - you did great !!! Keep it up.

Sis - staying the same is soooo good. I'm sure you'll have a loss next time with all your walking.
I haven't "officially" weighed in yet, however, my scales show I'm the same. I'll be happy with that.

Thanks Tina

Sis...staying the same is great..its called maintenance and its what we all need to do when we achieve our goals. Its proof that you can do it.

Anyone else waiting for the weekend.

I lost an additional 3 lbs this past week, so a total of 7.8 lbs... YIPPEE.. week 2 for me! ON my way or what? HUBBY is doing great, (better than I am as he started a month before me)... I just couldn't seem to get motivated to join in then. Sorry now, as he has lost a couple of sizes already, and is doing so great, he couldn't find anything to wear to graduation last nite... His clothes were too big, haha. POOR GUY. HE looks great, and has another 10-15 to go. HE is looking lean and mean. THE guys at work are asking him how he did it... WOW, hey? COOL.. kurly

Tina

Congratulations, Kurly!!!! Way to Go
Congrats to your husband, too. Men lose quicker than we do. It's aggravating sometimes when we do the same things and they lose faster. It's a metabolism thing, I think.

Keep up the great job.

Everyone have a good weekend.

Way to go Kurly and hubby.....when you make the decision to lose it has to be your own choice for it to work. You and hubby will have to celebrate your joint losses.

Karen....you are off and running. Keep up the good work.Remember how you feel now and keep that feeling as motivation for your continued loss. Keep your eye on what you really want and you wont be sidetracked by other things.

One thing I learned from my loss so far is that time goes by relatively quickly. Im amazed that such a short time has made such a difference in my life ( size) so far. If I hadnt started in Jan I wouldnt be where I am now. Even if you stay the same, lose little or even gain...the downward trend will continue and over time those little losses really add up.....slow and steady wins the race.

Wishing you all losses at the scales and gains in life.

I LOST 5 POUNDS SINCE SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so excited when I got weighed this morning! Since Sunday, I have been journaling, drinking plenty of water, hardly drinking any pop (real or diet), walking daily, I cut back on the one vitamin supplement I was taking because it had so many carbs in it. I think I'm on to something here! I know it is water weight right now that's dropping off, BUT THAT'S OK!! Seeing that lower number on the scales is a motivation.

I guess my goal now is to lose 10 (total) by the time I go back to school the end of August. Original goal was 5. Hope I don't overdo it on vacation. I know I'll still get plenty of walking in. We rarely use the car when we are there.

Hope everyone else is doing great!!!!

Tina
06-13-2002, 11:39 AM
Wow, Tammy! That's super!!! 5 Pounds Gone
You inspire me. Today I shall drink all my water and have only one diet drink . And, you are walking. That's super!!! (Can you tell I'm happy for you! :) )

Karen, Stenni, Kady, Kurly, Sis, Dee, all those I've left out (sorry), weigh in this week or do it on your own scales. It really helps.
I will not do it officially but will weigh on my scales tomorrow.

Good luck all.

WOW Tammy thats great.....about the 5 lb loss AND more importantly about the figuring out what works for you. It feels great when you uncover the mystery of your own weight loss. Yes those diet drinks make a difference. Not only do they contain a lot of sodium but I read somewhere that aspartame contains something that makes your body hang on to those fat cells. Keep it up Tammy I know you will make or break your goal.

Weigh in last night. I too was doing the happy dance. I wanted to hit a 50lb loss by the end of school ( june) and last night I hit it ( two weeks early) I had a 2.2 loss for a total of 50.6 lbs lost since Jan. I am thrilled.

I also found out that aquacise will continue in my town 2 times per week so I can keep doing that with my walking.

Come on everyone lets get moving.

Wishing you losses at the scale and gains in your life.

Kady--- Congratulations on that loss. Getting past that 50 lb. loss must feel great. You are doing the right things, so keep it up!!!!!!!!! :)

Tammy
06-13-2002, 04:05 PM
Kady, how wonderful on hitting that 50 pound goal!! That is super. Do you want to continue losing or are you satisfied with that loss?

Kady
06-13-2002, 04:34 PM
Tammy I plan to continue losing...while I am happy with the loss so far I have a lot more to lose ( at least another 50) so onward I go. If things go well and I keep losing at the rate I am ( which I cant believe will happen - I expect the other shoe to drop) I will have lost that at least by Christmas. At that point I still wont be at my "goal weight" they say at ww but I will be thrilled.

HOw about you? Do you have lots to lose or are you at the fine tuning point?

Wishing you losses at the scale and gains in life.

Tammy
06-13-2002, 08:23 PM
I know what you mean about the other shoe dropping! Just keep at it, and it will come off. You have done wonderful! If you dont' lose the other 50 by the end of the year, just remember how much you have lost and keep working at it!

I have oodles and oodles to lose. If I lose 75 pounds, I will be what I weighed when Bob and I met. About 65 pounds to what I weighed when we got married. He wasn't a good influence on me, was he? Meat and potatoes man.

In addition to the MOST RECENT 5, I would like to lose 50 more. I think I would be satisfied with that weight. I am 5'8" and have a large bone structure. That helps me hide some of the weight. People are amazed that I weigh as much as I do.

I will never be at the WW goal weight. I would not look good at that weight, and my doctor totally agrees with me.

Up 1 lb this week. Not bad though considering TOM and my hands were swollen. (holding water me thinks :) ) Hopefully it will be gone next WI. Hope everyone else had good luck at the scale. Have a SUPER week end! .....Sis :D

Tina
06-14-2002, 10:48 AM
Yep, Sis, I bet that 1 pound gain is from TOM and water retention. I'm in the same boat with the water retention.

I weighed on my scales this morning. I was down 1.5 pounds However, that's down from the 4 that I gained somewhere---somehow----:)

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!!! Drink plenty of water and have lots of fun.

Where is everyone---Tammy, Susan, Dee, Sis, Kady, and our new friends----Karen, kurly & Stennie ?????

I stepped on my scales this morning - it wasn't a pretty site.

I've got to make an appt. with my gyn. for next month's annual check-up. Boy, I'd better get going right before seeing him. :)

Hope everyone had a great OP day and will enjoy tomorrow--well, at least enjoy thinking about the weekend.

This is the last full week of June. Can you believe that! I can't.

Hope everyone gets to weigh this week.

I went to a Monday morning meeting today. I really needed some support today. I woke up bloated and really down about this weight. The leader was very good. She gave me tips on getting all my water down. :) She suggested putting some of that Crystal Light in my water. Also, and I do this sometime, she squirts lime or orange juice in her water. I might visit that meeting again someday.

Have a great week everyone!!!!!

How has everyone been doing? We finally got heat heat heat here; so I am drinking more and more water. Not really too hungry but trying hard to eat my points properly.

Lets see....WI results ...2 weeks ago I showed a 0.4 gain.....this week I showed a 4.0 loss.

With this loss I have lost 10 lbs in June ( I usually lose 6 or 7) so I am thrilled.

I bought a dress for my brothers wedding end of May...I had to return it and find something smaller. :D Not such a problem to have.

Next goal 14 lbs to get below 200. Maybe by end of summer.

Tina

Good Going, Kady!!!!!

That's a terrific loss. And, having to get a smaller dress, too. Wow! I know that made you feel good. I'm very happy for you.

Hope everyone has a great weigh in.

Well, after blowing it on my B-day and having still been under stress with my moms health and now my brothers, I actually managed to only gain 2 lbs. I was happy with that cuz I expected more. I am doing better the last 3 days and I realize I that messing up MY health won't help theirs. Moms doing better now,(if she will just keep it up. :?: ) will find out in a couple weeks about my brother. Anyways!! I hope everyone else had a good WI and has a GREAT week end......Sis :D

Sis, I'm so sorry you are having so much stress. I was hoping your mom was doing fine since you haven't mentioned her.
Is your brother in the hospital? Please let us know how things are going.
We are always here for YOU.

Dear guys

Hope you don't mind me crashing in on your weigh-ins, I'm a newbie, and as my first weigh in was on Thursday, was drawn to your thread. You guys are really inspirational, and I feel like I know some of you already! Hope everything is going well for everyone...

I've got about 45 pounds to lose to goal. And although I'm resident in the UK, I'm going back to New Zealand at Christmas to re-new my wedding vows with my husband. I really want to be silm and svelte and give my rellies a bit of a shock! (I've always been the fat one in my family). Also, with all the news about DVT on long-haul flights, I don't want to take any chances with my health. I'm doing Weight Watchers, and I've just joined the gym, so I hope that it's a reasonable goal to aim for. But it took me a long time to get to this weight, and I'm prepared that it's going to take a long time to lose it.

All the best for everyone

Jeenie

Jeenie, welcome to the group!!! It is a great group of supportive women that are on here. We share the good, the bad, and the ugly at times! LOL Seriously, we try to help each other with staying OP. Good luck to you in your WW venture.

I haven't been writing in my journal since we returned home on Thursday. I have been drinking the water, making smart choices, and getting in the walking.

Right now, I am going to go take a short nap. Don't know why I'm so tired this afternoon. Old age?????

Enjoy Sunday all!!

Tina

Hi Everyone,

Jeenie, Welcome to the Thursday thread!
You are soooo welcome to join us. Congratulations on deciding to lose weight in a healthy manner. I think losing 45 by Christmas is within reason. Good luck! We are here for you;
and, I hope you will help all of us, too. ;)

Tammy, taking a nap today isn't an "old age" thing. I think it's called "enjoying summer."
I wouldn't mind doing that right now, too.

We've gotten so much rain that I should go out and plant some plugs of grass where needed. I'm going to give myself an hour to rest and then see if I'm still ready to go plant.

Karen, Stennie, others, did y'all weigh in this time?

Thanks Tammy and Tina

I'm really looking forward to Thursday now and jumping on those scales (does this make me weird or what:spin: ) and sharing with the rest of you. I've also just given myself a mini-goal for this week which is to do weights three times, and also take one aerobics class. At the end of the week, I'm going to buy myself a little pressie - not sure what yet, maybe a nail polish, but it definitely won't be food related!

All best xxx

Weigh in last night and the scales say I am down a .4 lb. Not exactly the 4 lbs loss of last week but a loss is a loss is a loss.

How is everyone else doing?
