Default Why drinking at the bar and the inevitable eating fries at 4AM is great for my diet

Last night I went out to a club and had plans not to drink, but we all know that it's pretty difficult to go to a bar and not drink. So of course I did. And of course, I ate poutine at 4AM.

For those of you non-Canadians, "poutine" is an invention of the Quebecois. It is a big plate of fries, covered in cheese curds and gravy. The cheese melts and the whole thing becomes this mess of fatty goodness. This is Quebec's gift to the world.

Anyway where was I... oh yes... why is this good for my diet, you ask?

Because I looked *good* at the bar, and I got compliments, and guys were talking to me. So it's a great motivator.

congrats on the compliments!

I wiki'd that. Now, I love cheese fries, I like fries, and I LOOOOVE gravy. I looked at the pictures and it didn't look appetizing. Do the fries get soggy?

hahaha! I absolutely can't wait to go to a bar and not feel horribly out of place! There are some fabulous places in the city and I would just love to be able to go to one all spruced up and feel good about myself!!!

Thanks for yet another motivation to keep going!

ps. I had poutine on a high school trip to Quebec... Can I just say delish!

omg. Poutine should be in its own food category, i swear...

Daimere, they dont get soggy because you eat the poutine so fast, it doesn't have time!! (hah)

Letting yourself slip every once in awhile isn't that bad of a thing.. so it is okay fsc

Mmmmm, poutine.

And yeah, the fries don't get soggy usually because the gravy is poured on it just before it's handed to you... and no one can have a poutine in-hand and not be chowin' down on it.

Congrats on lookin' so fiiiine and gettin' all those compliments chica!

Sounds like the offering we receive at "Chicken Gourmet" after a night out in Civic lol. Oh so very good.

The favourite here is the "Grog Bog" - a hot dog bun filled with bacon, cheese, chips (or fries) and gravy.

It usually has its namesakes effect in the morning - one way or the other lol.
