Thanks everyone! 3 pounds really isn't anything to sneeze at is it?

:tired:
Anyway, I've had 4 hours of sleep in 2 days. My 3 year old's "cold" morphed into no voice, 104º fevers, chills, hallucinations and a good ol' febrile seisure for good measure last night. I called the doctor on call because his laboured breathing was really bothering me and she didn't call me back for an HOUR AND A HALF! By that time, things were still bad, but starting to settle down a bit. (It was 2:00 in the morning) By 3:30 he was finally in a real sleep and his fever down to a respectable 99.5º

Of course...the baby woke up at 4:30 for a diaper change and bottle. Then the rest of the family was up at 6:30. I was on the couch with my 3 year old all night, with the baby sleeping in the playpen.

It was a long night. The night before was just as long. High fever and a cough, but none of the dramatics of last night.

We see the doctor at 10:20.

Did I mention the baby has bright red cheeks and a bit of a cough this morning? He is acting out of sorts too.

:kickcan:

I guess the gym can wait a bit longer. Sick little ones trump working out.

Numina You have got to be the BEST damn cheerleader EVER! LOL! You RAWK!

Oh, good grief, Sarah --- sounds like you are under siege over there! I hope you manage to snatch some rest yourself later today or YOU are going to be sick, too! The rec center will be there in a week when everyone is 100% again.

Give your little guy a hug from me and try to stay healthy yourself, kiddo. (Maybe we need to work in some virus assassination along with the fat pound assassinations, huh? Sheeeeeeeesh!)

Hang in there, Sarah !

I forgot to check in yesterday and say that my weekend mini-goal was accomplished. However, I was kind of bummed because no weight loss was made. I lost a total of 5 pounds for the week though. So I'm not too bummed. LOL. But the scale hasn't moved since then. Oh well I'm gonna keep it up to reach my goal for this challenge!

meredith that dress looks fantastic on you!! congratulations!!

randi i understand your frustration. but don't let it get you down. don't let it make you wanna quit. work that much harder!!!

purplecrush so sorry you're not feeling well. i hope you get 100% real soon!!!

jen you can do it girl. just keep it up. work towards it and you will get there

sarah you poor, poor thing!!! i hope everything gets better for you soon....and isn't numina the best!!! Such a cheerleader and motivator. she makes me feel like i can do anything!!!

I'm hoping to meet with a trainer today so I'm pretty pumped. and I got my taxes!!

Back to check in. I was able to meet with Clay, a trainer at CG. He gave me a list of excellent exercises that focus on abs, gluts and legs. Awesome!!!! I tanned and did 45 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes on the ab exercises. I'm hoping to see a loss tomorrow!!!!

Randi - Thank you! And  sorry that you're less-than-psyched about your weigh-in, but hey--1 lb is nothing to sneeze at!! You worked hard for that 1 lb, missy! And Numina is absolutely right; you can't let this discourage you... You have to be more stubborn than the fat! LOL. Easier said than done, of course, though personally I am incredibly stubborn, so that attitude might actually work on me, heh.

purplecrush - Oh my, sounds like you have definitely had a pretty crappy past few days! Poor baby... And the kiddies, too! You definitely have my sympathy, girly. :( A thousand kudos to you for not going crazy off-plan! I know when I'm sick, all I want to do is self-medicate with food, heh. :o And I don't think anyone would blame you for taking a break from losing weight until you're back at 100% health. Your physical well-being comes first! Hope you feel better soon. :getwell: Oh, and thank you!! I practically wanted to throw myself a party when I finally beat the 177-lb-blues! Hehe.

gin - Wow, thank you! And oy, I absolutely loathe bouncing back and forth between the same 3 lbs like that! SO frustrating. You should be proud of yourself that you are staying strong and are NOT going to throw in the towel over this little lag in your losses. I would not be surprised at all if switching plans shakes things up a bit and throws your weight out of whack for a bit, but if you still with it the pounds will come off! Don't give up. Even if you don't end up meeting your goal for this challenge, your support means a lot to the other team members! :D

Numina - I must agree with others on here who have said that you are just about the greatest cheerleader a person could ever hope for!! :cp: I mean WOW, your posts just make me feel like I am really something special, hehe. :D Yes, the Clan O'Fat is a tricky little devil, making me feel ugly for so many years... But I will beat him yet! :s: Thank you sooo much for all of your support, seriously! It means a lot to all of us. I think, until St. Paddy's Day, I am going to be hearing your voice in my head every time I'm tempted to make a bad decision, LOL! A toast to Numina! :hat:

irishsarah - Yipe! Sounds like you have a LOT on your plate right now!! :yikes: My goodness... I certainly hope you will be able to get some sleep soon! And I'm sorry to hear about your baby being so under the weather; hope he is feeling better very, very soon! And if you have to skip the gym or something so you can take care of him, please, don't feel guilty even for a nanosecond! IMO sick little ones absolutely trump working out, any day! You just do whatcha gotta do, and everything else will eventually fall into place. :dizzy:

nicki rose98 - Thank you! :D YAY, we both met our weekend mini-challenge goals1!!! :yay: I am SO proud of both of us! And honestly, who cares if you didn't have a loss this weekend? Allow me to remind you that you still lost 5 lbs in a week, which is pretty d*mn spectacular if you ask me, hehe! I'm sure it won't be long before the scale starts moving again... And you are already sooo close to your St. Paddy's Day goal that it should be pretty smooth sailing from here on out.

WOW NickiRose --- you are really turning up the heat on this Lean Mean Green Challenge! A 5 pound WEEKLY loss is simply wild --- and you KNOW that you will be losing more in a couple of days. Your body is still in shock over all the changes, I think --- but it will soon recover and say: "Oh, those ugly fat pounds simply don't go with this lovely new tan! Out they go!" Keep up the excellent work!

And Meredith, you are our very own one-woman OnederLand GrrrlRock Band! And while I don't necessarily recommend smashing guitars and leaping into the mosh pit as exercise for everyone, it sure is working for you! You have been working hard in this challenge and you are reaping the just rewards of the sweat equity. So keep it moving, baby! Rock on!

This challenge has been a great way to build up some energy and pass it around --- lots of great support and some actual FUN squished into all this weight loss stuff! So thanks to you two ladies for keeping me working in this!

Time now for a wee bit of Ireland get your Wednesday up and moving and to put the fear of LEAN in that Clan O'Fat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zk_9TbFK-ik&feature=related

LOL Numina, that is a great video!! I LOVE "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"--it always reminds me of nights during my childhood when I'd be perched in front of the TV watching that show and the Drew Carey Show with my brother. Awww, sentimental value. Hehe, thanks for sharing! :D

well last week KICKED MY BUTT.... not in a bad way though ... just sucked up ALLL my free time

started my spring cleaning early and tackled it head on taking no prisoners and finding long lost jewelry along the way :)

then I got sick...which had me laid out for several days

but I am happy to report that I am down 3 lbs since last week!!!

Hope everyones chins are spirits are up up up and reminding themselves how fabu they are!!

Ive been walking here and there when the weather permits (gotta love the midwest for 70 one day and snow at 18 the next) but I feel like Im making excuses to get out of working out... well as luck would have it my 9 year old is a distance runner. Shes getting ready to run her 7th 5k in 2 years in a few months AND is training for her first triathlon this summer!!!!!

incredible I know! so I decided that without entering anything.. I too want to have my own little triathlon of sorts..realistic self challenges...so Im thinking about joining the Y thats close to my house and getting started
Im actually really excited about swimming. I was a competitive swimmer growing up but when my softball team started traveling I had to give it up.. so its always been something I enjoyed so...... I made up mind :) Im gonna do it

so its been a week full of decisions most of them positive and healthy in all respects :) only a few little food demons poked me with sticks so far :)

keep up the good work ladies!!!

TATATUMMY!!

I have been thinking of you --- I should have guessed that you got smacked with one of these stupid illnesses that have been making the rounds. It has been a really bad spring for flus ---- glad to hear you are feeling better! And you managed to do your spring cleaning AND lose 3 pounds in that same general time frame? And came out from cleaning the couch with bling between your teeth?? You RULE!!

Kudos to your daughter, too! Running races and getting prepared for her first triathlon at 9 ? --- she can come in and be our challenge drill sargent, if she wants the job! I think the idea of designing your own triathlon is very clever. What exactly are you thinking about doing?

Welcome Back, TATA and great job on that 3 pounds!

good googly! I forgot my song of the day..week .. as its been :)

song of the day: invincible by Pat Benetar

aww thanks Numina :) hugs and high fives lady!!!:high:

ok my version of the triathlon FOR NOW is the same as hers...only obvious time differences... and instead of entering myself in a race... race day is EVERYTIME I try...so I tackle it head on once a week maybe. And Im thinking once I get goin at the gym Im going to incorporate all three.. swimming, biking and work my way up to a jog (dont want black eyes or knocking over of small children in my way :) ) but the more I thought about it.. heres another Triathlon challenge I could do

10 up/down stair climbs (I have 18 steep steps in my house)
100 jump ropes
25 situps/ 25 pushups

or any combo obviously....

i wish i had a treadmill and a stationary bike...but I need to get out of the house and move anyway today is a high of 65 and tomorrow is a high of 74!!! so I should hit the track!!!

Hello, TaTaTummy!! Congrats on the 3 lbs, girly! That's awesome! And LOL about the food demons poking you with sticks! Poke them back! :s:

I am soooo happy today; we got back our term papers in one of my classes, and I was really worried that if I hadn't done well, I would end up binging... Cuz that's essentially what happened with the last paper. :o (Curse you, emotional eating! *shake fist*) But somehow, miraculously, I got an A!!! :yay: That's the best grade I've gotten on a paper in a looong time, and I am so freakin' proud of myself!! I was even a little tempted to have some kind of treat as a "celebration" (yep, when I'm not emotionally eating to numb pain, I'm doing it as a reward for something good happening!), but instead I bought some pretty new makeup and nail polish when I went to the drugstore to pick up a prescription... So my reward is going to be to paint my nails tonight and make them look all nice and pretty. It'll just be a few minutes of pampering, but I'm looking forward to it! I've earned it!! :D

Hello! I've been MIA for the past week. Life got in the way a little bit, but now things are back to normal. How's everyone doin'? I'm not going to have time to read the

of posts y'all have put written. Wowzers! What a supportive little group we have here!

I've been doing really well on the WL. 1 pound to go for my St. Patty's Day Challenge! I met my 5% weight loss goal over the weekend too. My treat is to go downtown to my fave coffee shop & get some of my fave beans. Yummy coffee all next week!

Hope everyone is well & now that things are back to normal I'll be checking in every day again.

Nitey nite!

Have you guys ever heard of the book, Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm? Well, this challenge doesn't have her; we have something waaaay cooler --- our very own Rebecca of DONNYBROOK Farm. (Definition of donnybrook : a brawl or fracas.)

Yeah, our Rebecca was minding her own business, just lifting a glass or two of that delicious green water at a local ale house when 5 members of the Clan O'Fat tried to slither in. In the twinkling of an Irish eye (that was smiling, no doubt!), the air was filled with flying fists, rivers of green water, broken glasses, shouts, limericks, deadly ninja shamrocks and one heavy pot of gold. When the dust and poetry settled, those five nasty pounds were nowhere to be seen and Rebecca, our Rebecca, calmly sat back down and ordered a round of water for the house!

So lift your glass to the lass who brought about this pass: 5 MORE POUNDS DESTROYED! EXCELLENT WORK, REBECCA!

ANOTHER NINE POUND POST! What have you and Heather been drinking in those water bottles, anyway? Whatever it is, pass it around! You two are on fire!

A memorial toast to the 9 slimy pounds O'Fat that lost their lives to our deadly teammate, ChefsGirl: Water as our drink and carrots our snack, here's to nine pounds that ain't NEVER coming back!

First, good job on avoiding both the "eating because I am upset" excuse and the "eating because I deserve a treat" excuse ---- now, where have I heard those before! You are definitely learning how to incorporate this weight loss adventure into real life --- and that is probably the most important challenge of all.

But I really wanted to say: WAY TO GO ON THAT PAPER, WOMAN! Your hard work in other areas is really paying off, too! And THAT is something to sing about!

Numina you are so totally cracking me up. That toast is too funny. I will say that I had a bit more than water as my drink yesterday…..went to our favorite pub for a few. Boulevard……..yummy.

9 pounds of slimy fat……that’s a great way to think of it. It’s nasty, nasty stuff & needs to be off my body!

Congrats on your 2 lb loss!!

Apparently, just logging on to 3FC makes me lose weight. I met my goal today.

NickiRose, so who's the birthday boy/girl? Is it YOUR birthday, lassie, hmmmmmm? Since you are going to Hooter's, I am assuming the birthday belongs to your man, but maybe the food is just really, really good at Hooter's. (?)

And don't let those numbers on the scale fash you, lass --- your trend is DOWNWARD and that isn't going to change. Lots of things can make your weight fluctuate --- water retention, a heavy meal still in your system, even the muscle gain your man was talking about. Don't let the numbers blind to you what is REALLY going on --- you are getting stronger and healthier every day, you are building some great habits for the rest of your life and you are getting closer to goal weight. This is just another little game that the O'Fattie Clans plays on us to try to get us to go back to our old, bad ways. But they won't fool you, right?

Oh! And if this IS your guys' birthday, tell him we will be at Hooter's too, to give him a 21-kazoo salute! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agJ5QF0Thzo&feature=related

heather88 - HOLY GUACAMOLE, did you say 9 lbs?? I am so impressed I'm practically speechless, and y'all must know by now that that's a big challenge for me!! LOL! Well done! And I hear ya about the machines at the gym--I never really take advantage of the gym at my school (I usually do DVDs, or just walking), and I really want to start, but I don't actually know how to use any of the machines... And I don't want to look stupid trying to figure them out on my own. :o I'm thinking about asking a friend to show me, hehe! Anyways, good luck with the assessment!

Numina - Thank you!! I am STILL on cloud nine about that paper, hehe! It's been motivating me to stay OP all day today as well as yesterday... And I was especially determined to stick to my plan today because I know I have to weigh-in for this challenge tomorrow, and darnit, I want to have another loss! (Yes, I'm selfish, LOL!). But ANYWAYS, on to more important things--WTG losing those 2 lbs, woman!! You are doing awesome! If I were those last 5 lbs, I would be feeling miiiighty scared right now. ;) Hehe!

ChefsGirl - WOW, you already made your goal!!! Hey now, don't you know that St. Patty's Day isn't for another week and a half?! You're makin' the rest of us look bad! ;) LOL, jk! That is sooo awesome, girly! Now you REALLY have an excuse to celebrate on St. Patty's Day. And I agree with Numina--you might as well try to evict a couple more pounds between now and then, hehe. But either way, you are a weight-loss ROCKSTAR! :cp:

nicki rose98 - I'm sure the minor spike up is nothing to worry about, chicky... Especially if you've been working out more often lately, your muscles are probably swollen/retaining lots of water while they repair themselves (I'm sure you already know this, heh, but it never hurts to get a reminder! :^:). It's like we always say--if you're doing the work, the pounds WILL eventually come off, even if it feels like it's taking forever! Fat cannot defy physics! Hehe. Oooh, and I hope you have/had fun at the birthday dinner! You deserve a little treat for being on such good behavior lately, hehe. :D

Merksie - Congrats on the 4 lbs lost!!! You're really narrowing in on that St. Patrick's Day goal, aren't you? ;) Good luck for this upcoming week!

I'm hoping for physics to come through for me tomorrow, too, since after my crazy whirlwind of losses last week, my weight has been bouncing around quite a bit this week--even though I have literally been doing the exact same things I did last week! Just goes to show that you never know what your silly body might choose to do at any given moment, lol. It certainly keeps a gal on her toes! :dizzy: But I am hopeful that I will have squeezed out at least 1-2 lbs this week. Wish me luck tomorrow, ladies! :crossed:

I wanted to come check in really quick. I have to say a big thank you to everyone for the support. The scale decided to move in the right direction for the last two days so I'm actually lower than when I started, by 1 pound. WOoo!

But I have a big challenge this weekend since I am going to a women's retreat. EEEP! I went last year and I think the food choices were kind of diet friendly, so I'm hoping there are good options. It is buffet style so at least I can be in charge of what goes on my plate I am tempted to pack all my own food, but since I'm not really announcing my 'diet' to the world yet I don't think I will, plus there aren't refridgerators or a kitchen for us to use so that would be an obstacle. There is a Sundae bar on Saturday night so I will have a very VERY small portion of ice cream and then I plan on making really good choices the rest of the weekend.

I wish I had time to reply to everyone but I wanted to say y'all are doing great and keep up the good work. I still have to pack and I have a busy day tomorrow getting things ready because my sis-in-law is coming over to watch my son.

A warrior colleen known as Merksie
In her battles stayed upbeat and perksie
she killed 4 pounds of fat
In a week. It was that
which struck fear into pounds where they lurksied.

Another Lean Mean Green challenger brings it on home! Congratulations on a wonderful week of losing, Sargaent Merksie! Now, whatever it is that all you colleens have been drinking in your water bottles that has led to these impressive losses --- PASS IT AROUND, WOULD YA?

Thank you for the encouragement, Meredith --- I am trying to focus happily on the 5 pounds I have lost in this challenge and not the 5 pounds that still loom on the horizon. (Last year, I would have been amazed at myself for losing 5 pounds and now it just makes me want MORE! Such is the magic of 3FC..)

Bye the way, did you change your profile picture? Didn't it use to say 80 pounds gone and now it says 90 pounds gone? Alright!

Yay, Gin! Another evil member of Clan O'Fat has been tossed out on its chubby little rear and told to NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN, BOYO! Nice moves, there, chickie!

Your weekend retreat sounds both challenging and fun. You handle the fun part and let us help with challenge:

IrishSarah will be your water baby, sitting on your head and reminding you that not only does water help you feel full, it makes everything in your body work better. She has been given the magic bubble wand of the faires to help her with this task.

TataTummy will be your drill sargent, reminding you whenever the chance arises to get up and move that thing, taking short walks or stretching, whatever seems to fit the time and location. She will have the gift of the bards for the occasion, making you hear fast-moving music to speed you on your way.

Randi will sit on your left shoulder and be your "no no" voice --- she will remind you that certain foods are particularly bad for combating fat and that you should avoid them. She will (of course!) carry a shillelagh to help her enforce that code!

CrazyCurls will sit on your right shoulder and be your "yes yes" voice --- she will point out those foods which really fit into your plan, help control hunger pangs and that are nutritional heavyweights. She will borrow a lasso from the Happy Trails, Pardner challenge so she can snag them doggies and pull them right to you.

Have fun, Gin! I think you are going to do just fine.....

You Lassies RAWK! :cheer2:

I was able to hit the gym for the first time since the little ones got sick. Me thinks I am a going to have to rethink my "going after they are in bed" strategy. While it was nice knowing they were all in bed and unaware of my leaving, by the time I got home, took a bath (I had to soak my bad foot) and got to bed, it was dang near 11:00! I had a hard time falling asleep and the baby is VERY congested, so he had a hard time sleeping for more then an hour or two straight.

I AM BEAT!

It doesn't help that our little cat, Penny, keeps coming in and bringing her toys into our tiny room and jumping on the bed...and knocking DH's glasses to the floor...and trying to rub all over us. :dizzy:

I told DH last night that once a week is not going to cut it. Saturday I usually take the boys swimming but that is more for them then me. I am going to just have to bite the bullet and go while they eat dinner or something. I want to workout at least 3 times a week, plus Saturday swimming with the boys. Its like a tease to go ONE day. I did workout for a good hour though. :)

Sarah, you went to the gym AFTER putting in a full day as mom to a whole passel of sick boys? Kudos to you, my dear! Fitting in some "me gym" time into your schedule is going to be challenging -- but hey! we know you tackle challenges head-on! The rec center doesn't have any kind of child watch program, do they? (That would be too simple....)

Any other challenge members have some ideas on how to get mom to the gym when you have little kids?

I am impressed by how determined you are to get in to that gym and do your hour, Sarah --- and congratulations on kicking Fat Behind for a solid hour, too.

Keep it going, Team Leader, keep it going!

busy busy day... Im taking my niece who just turned 18?!?! shopping for her birthday today!! very excited. I just wanted to check in since today is my weigh in day.....

im down another 3 lbs!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

I am loving myself silly!! Very proud of myself these last couple weeks and cant wait to see what lies ahead. Next step is getting to the gym so I can shake it IN PUBLIC (gotta give the people what they want) Im sure my fans (the guy on the treadmill and the woman on the stair climber who without knowing it became my fans simply by being in the same room lol) at the gym will appreciate my performances. :carrot:...its a lot like this one... only a tad more magical

I think I will reward my loss so far with some cute yoga pants Ive had my eye on...

Song of the day: Brand New Key by Melanie Safka

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Congrats to everyone for their losses!!!

Hello ladies!!! Isn't today just the most beautiful day you have ever seen in your life? :D Now you might say, "Hey Meredith, why is today so wonderful?" WELL, to that I would reply that today is a wonderful day because I weighed in at 169.6 lbs!!! AAAH! Not only am I juuust barely edging my way into the 160s (oooh, I hope I stay there!), but I'm only 0.6 lbs away from meeting my St. Patrick's Day goal! WOOHOO! :yay:

Stats:
SW: 177.0 lbs on 2/20
Last week's weight: 172.8 lbs on 2/27
CW: 169.6 lbs!! (on 3/6)
GW: 169.0 lbs
That puts me at -3.2 lbs this week, and a total of -7.4 lbs down for the whole challenge... Not too shabby!

Numina - I think another weekend mini-challenge is JUST what I need! I am SO FREAKIN' ECSTATIC to be so close to getting into the 160s that I'm willing to do just about anything to make sure that I'm still there by the end of this weekend! LOL. I'll do my best to make you proud! ;)

TaTa, you lost another 3 pounds? WOW! You have a lot of fans here, too!

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-music012.gif

You are seriously kicking butt on this challenge (there are a LOT of people that are doing really well!) and I can't wait to see where you end up on St Pat's Day! (And thank you for another great daily song!)

KEEP ROCKIN' IT, TATA!

Hey Meredith, why is today so wonderful?

YOU MADE IT INTO A NEW DECADE! Yessssssss!!! And you are less than a pound from goal for this challenge? You are disappearing before our very eyes! No wonder you are bouncing off the walls and from the ceiling!

http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-bounce015.gif

I am going to try to seriously hit the program this weekend --- aim for a little UNDER my calorie count, UP the water some and make sure the exercise is more than just going through the motions. And it is going to really help to know that somewhere out in cyber-land, you are working it, too. We are SO going to kick some O'Fattie behinds this weekend, girl. (And by the way, how could anyone NOT be proud of you when you are trying so hard? It ain't the results that make us all stand up and salute --- it's the effort. The results are just icing on the cake!)

I vote we REALLY shake things up this weekend!

Hey guys! I got some bad news last Friday, and haven't really been posting since then.

Actually, I've been crying. And eating. And drinking soda. And not counting my calories. And not exercising.

And now I have more bad news. I am up 0.8 lbs. I know why, but it doesn't help my overall mood. I guess it could be worse, but I am not going to lose 7 lbs in ten days, so I'm not going to make my goal.

I'm sorry. :(

Congratulations to all who are rockin' it. You're my heroes!

Ah, Anmitche. I am so sorry that you are hurting. We have missed you on the thread --- we should have known it was something big to keep you away. And as far as apologizing for not making your goal? Sheeesh, woman! We are your team when things go to Heck just as much as when things are spinning along smoothly.

So, you know that we will be thinking about you and sending you our prayers and good thoughts, right? And that you can come here (or any other thread) and rage or mourn or maybe just to talk about something totally different from what is in real life? We are here to SUPPORT you --- to support YOU -- in whatever way we can in this strange cyber-way.

As for the eating, I am guessing that things are going to be chaotic where you are for a while, both in terms of events/things that need to be taken care of and also internally for you in terms of emotions. Maybe it would be good if you can make a real effort to eat a strong breakfast each day? That would help keep you on an even keel physically and give you a solid foundation on those days when you never know when or how or what you will eat. And I will say from personal experience that sometimes it feels good to be eating correctly when there is lots of bad stuff happening -- it made me feel like at least I could control SOMETHING. Do what works for you, kiddo.

I wish there was something more substantial, more real-world I could offer to do. You take care of yourself, OK? And remember that we are here if you want us.

anmitche - There's no need for apologies, sweetie. Not a single one of us is perfect - I guarantee it! - and we all know how incredibly challenging it can be to try to stay on-plan when you're dealing with some serious emotional issues. Don't feel bad, and please (even if it's just for my sake!) don't beat yourself up about it! This is just my personal opinion, but if you need to cry instead of exercising, then CRY. No one can fault you for taking a break from weight loss during a tough time... Weight loss will always be there, but for now you need to take care of you. We're all here for you!

As for me, I have some good news and some bad news today... Okay, the bad news first--I'm afraid I have to confess that I didn't really rock the weekend mini-challenge this time around. :o Yesterday I went a little overboard with some FiberOne chewy bars and a Luna bar... And way too much peanut butter (ack, my weakness)! :yikes: It wasn't a crazy all-out binge, but I'd definitely classify it as "off-plan." :p HOWEVER, the good news is that even in spite of overeating yesterday, when I weighed myself today, I actually had a loss!!! I don't know whether to trust it, but it was at least very comforting to see that I'm still in the 160s (and getting further into them, even!). I'm definitely expecting good news at this week's weigh-in. ;)

Thanks guys! I feel a little bit better. I knew I would after coming here. I know I don't KNOW you guys, and I don't post too often, but you are the closest thing I have to friends in the area I live in now.

Everything was going so good in my life- I was finally losing weight, I was starting to get to know this area better, and actually making friends (which is hard when you move to a new area and aren't in college or school) and then -WHAM! I lose my job.

The worst part is they won't tell me WHY. My boss even told me I have the potential to be a great educator and he has no problems with the job I have done thus far. If that's the case, why are they not renewing my contract?

So, now I'm looking for a job again. And in the education field it's SO exhausting because of all of the documentation you have to send with every application. I'm hoping to move back to my hometown area, but am afraid I'll have to move somewhere else that is completely new and start all over again. I have no doubts I'll find a new job, it's just so much effort (much like weight loss). And on top of it all, I have three more months of teaching left in this district, where I have to deal with the people who laid me off every day.

But today, I wore a shirt that was too tight a month ago. My roommate even said it looks baggy, so I am doing some stuff right!

anmitche  I am so sorry to hear you are losing your job. It is most likely due to budget cuts; try not to take it as a personal failure. Trust me, if they didn't like the job you were doing, you'd know it. Don't beat yourself up.

I too haven't been totally OP either. It is just EXHAUSTION plain and simple. I got the first really sick boy over (well mostly over) whatever germs were making him so sick, the baby is maybe 1/2 better, and now my 6 year old gets hit with it. I am so freakin' tired from not sleeping and it isn't even funny. My thinking is a tad fuzzy and I am just a zombie. I just sort slip back into old habits when I am not focused. Plus, I still have to take care of the non-sick kid and the just starting to get sick husband. It is all nothing but excuses but that's why I haven't been around too much. It is also why the scale is only reflecting a 2 pound loss, and I think the scale is being generous. (I question the accuracy of that scale.)

Meredith!!!! :carrot: Way to go GIRL! That is incredible!

Cfmama, you always RAWK my world!

Numina I bow to your amazing supply of positive energy. You are the WOMAN!

TaTa, another 3 pounds! WTG!

I just suck. That's all there is to it. I gained 4 pounds in four days and almost back out of ONEderland. There's no way I'll reach that St. Patty's goal now. I'm so mad and frustrated at myself. Back OP today but not a happy camper with myself.

Down a half-pound.....

Hanging in there.... feeling very envious of others - and feeling guilty about that.... sounds like the start of a vicious circle... :o

Anmitche - So sorry to hear about your job - keeping you in my thoughts!

Nicki Rose - you got back on plan and that is what matters!!

I have become addicted to the song "Fighter" and "Bodies" it seems like no matter what I am doing at the gym - when either of those songs come on - everything just goes a little bit faster and a little bit more intense.... I keep playing them over and over on my IPod...

irishsarah - Sheesh, you must secretly be Wonder Woman to be able to juggle all of the craziness that's been going on in your life lately!! You poor dear... I always hate to hear about people not being able to get enough sleep, because I KNOW how rough that is, and how difficult it makes it to function in your everyday life. You shouldn't feel like you're just making excuses; I think those are pretty legit reasons to take a rest from weight loss! AND you still pulled a 2-lb loss?! Fantastic! MAJOR kudos to you this week. :D

nicki rose98 - HEY NOW, young lady... I will have none of this "I suck" business!! You know that is not true. You have done amazingly well on this challenge, and even if you slipped up a little bit, what little damage you might have done is NOT permanent, and I know you will get rid of those extra pounds in no time (and then get even lower!). You will NOT leave Onederland; I won't let you!! :kickbutt: Hehe! Plus you know those 4 lbs are probably like 80% water weight anyways. Just dust yourself off and get back into the swing of things--sounds like you already have anyways (congrats!), so you're doing great! Even if you don't reach the St. Patty's Day goal (and really, I definitely wouldn't rule it out just yet if I were you), the purpose of the challenge is just to be a fun motivator, NOT to make you feel guilty! It's okay to slip up as long as you don't let it discourage you from getting back OP eventually, you know? Hope you're feeling better about things today.

Randi - Hang in there! Even if the half a pound doesn't feel like much to you, it's only going to put you that much closer to your goal--so I say, congrats to you! ;) And hey, a little bit of envy of others is totally normal and not something you should feel guilty about... (I mean, god knows I'm freakin' jea-LOUS of some women's bodies, LOL). We're only human! :p Oooh, and I'm glad to hear that you've found some new motivating tunes! What artist does those songs? I'm always on the lookout for new songs to love, hehe. :dancer:

RN BSN 2009 - LOL, I'm glad you said it ("it's better than a gain") before I had to--cuz that's exactly what I would have said! Actually, no, to be more specific, I probably would have said something like "WOOHOOO, you lost 2.4 lbs, that is AWESOME! :yay:" Hehe! But it's funny how we always love celebrating others' accomplishments, but when it comes to recognizing our own, we always want to belittle them... I'm totally guilty of that, too. But for now, you definitely deserve a biggole pat on the back for evicting those 2.4 lbs of fat OFF of your body. WTG!

As for ME, normally I post my weigh-ins for this challenge on Fridays, but I have some GREAT news to share today... *drumroll please* I met my St. Patrick's Day goal today!! I actually weighed in at exactly 169.0 lbs yesterday, but I wasn't sure whether to trust the number... But then today I was 168.8 lbs, so I'm countin' it! YEA! Now all I have to do is be on my best behavior for the next week to make sure that I don't have to meet the goal again, LOL! I'd love to see if I can actually get under 169 lbs by the actual day of March 17th! :D

Thanks SO MUCH to all of your ladies for your support on this thread! Of course I'm not saying goodbye to this thread or anything (you can't get rid of me THAT easily, muahaha...) but I want to take the time to let you all know how much I've appreciated this challenge so far! It's been so fun, I just might have to start setting time-oriented goals more often... :chin: Hehe!

Hang in there, IrishSarah! Eventually, everyone in your house will be healthy again and you will be able to actually sleep! Until then, you are the one holding everything together and that has to take precedence over weight loss, etc. Just keep trying to make good choices when you can and make sure to take care of YOU along with everyone else!

And killing two members of the Clan O'Fat is no small deal! Did you point a sick kid at them and order the child to cough really hard? :D The members of the LEAN MEAN GREEN MACHINE are so inventive in how they get rid of fat!

And to magic you back from Doctor Mom to Butt-Kicking Assassin of Fat, Team Leader Sarah, I'm sending some of those wee Irish leprechauns to help charm your sick family members back to healthy.

I know the numbers you posted were the day before the weigh-in, but Shivering Shamrocks, they were such good numbers! Two more of the O'Fat clan destroyed by one determined lady with a wicked backhand on a shillelagh!

They ganged up on you, NickiRose !

You know the Clan O'Fat is sneaky and tricky and cheats whenever it can, so occasionally they win a battle here and there. BUT they DON'T win the war unless we walk away from the fight. And you simply will not do that --- you have tasted Onederland and you will not be pushed out of that prime real estate by a bunch of fat pounds armed with nachos, Twinkies and Big Macs!

They had ganged up on poor NickiRose
And knocked her off plan with their blows.
She now had a plight:
She could fold or she could fight;
Thus faced with the challenge, Nicki ROSE.

Kick some serious fat butt this coming week, Nicki --- just unleash that inner insane fighting woman!

Hey, Randi ----

Yeah, it's hard to not get jealous sometimes when other team members are losing 3 or 4 or 5 pounds and we aren't. It's human nature. I say let's NOT feel guilty about it; instead, let's take 5 minutes and really indulge that feeling. Savor it! --- revel in it! --- and then be done with it! :D

Once we have dealt with that emotion, we can get back to assaulting slimy Pounds O'Fat and kicking their ponderous, pendulous, pigeon-hearted, putrid butts out of our house and out of our lives, 1/2 pound at a time if that is what it takes. Bring on the martial artist leprechauns to show us how its done!

RN BSN 2009, you are heading in the right direction! This whole weight loss thing is bloody hard work and make no mistake! But the alternatives, while easier to achieve, are a heck of a lot harder to live with: heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, damaged joints, etc.

As long as we keep trying, then our bodies are shrinking instead of lives. And if it takes us a while longer to get to goal than someone else, we are STILL getting healthier with every good choice we make. And that is no small thing!

So be of good cheer, colleen, and hoist a glass of delicious 3FC green water with me. Here's to better health and better clothing choices! And to NEVER giving in to the pernicious Clan O'Fattie!

As some of you may recall, I hate Mondays and they hate me. Well, yesterday, with the time change and all was like double-Monday around here. We all got up late, we got hit by some nasty weather and the entire day was a series of stubbed toes, broken dishes, frantic calls from the school for forgotten homework, etc. The best I can say is --- it's over!

Weigh in:
Start: 252
Current: 246, down 1 this week
Goal: 242

As you can see, I didn't do all that well this week and have a rather unrealistic number of pounds to lose to make the St. Paddy's goal. HOWEVER, I have to say that my weight is still moving in the right direction and I am learning how to make better choices (even if I don't always do so!) I am re-committing to this challenge and intend to push myself this last week to see just how many Pounds O'Fat I can vaporize in one week.

THE LEAN MEAN GREEN MACHINE IS SHIFTING INTO OVERDRIVE FOR THE LAST BIG WEEK!

It is very obvious to me that I too, will not make my St. Patty's Day goal, but I am at peace with that. As long as I am moving in the right direction I am okay. I sat down for two minutes yesterday and took a look at my goals.

IF (that is a big IF) I can pull a 3 1/2 pound loss a week, from this point forward, I can be in Onderland by my birthday. I know that while the change hasn't been huge so far, I feel somewhat different. I'd like to keep going with that and a HUGE victory would be Onederland by June 30th...my birthday.

Hey, I am Irish everyday, if I don't hit my St.Patty's Day goal, I can have a HUGE, mock St. Patty's Day celebration when I hit Onederland. You will all be invited of course. Hope ya' like beer. :D

Don't get me wrong though, I am still gonna pull for a big number this week. I aint goin' out without a fight. :boxing:

What motivation I can find on this forum!! I L-O-V-E it!!! I do feel much better today. I think I was just overall cranky yesterday. I stayed OP all day yesterday and did my strength. Today is cardio day and I wanted to try Zumba but if my car isn't ready in time I may have to stick with DVDs at home. Which I enjoy doing anyway. Some 30DS, some chair dancing, some 10 min exercise. I think I can fit it all in.

I am down a pound today so I was happy about that. I haven't completely given up on my St Patty's goal and if I don't make it, I don't make it and I'll just work on my next challenge. Sorry for the self-pity party yesterday. I am much, much better. I am happier. I am on track and I refuse to let myself get knocked down.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Congratulations Meredith on reaching your goal. That is fantastic!!!! What an inspiration you are!

You can make it Numina. It's not out of your reach yet!!!!!

Even if you don't make your goal Irish sounds like your still fighting the fat off and that's motivational in and of itself

EVERYONE KEEP IT UP!!!!! ST PATTY'S DAY AIN'T HERE YET!!!!!

THAT IS INDEED THE COOLEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN! I am at the libary and I will happily spend my ten cents to print this out! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

good job on getting out of your funk nicki!

not making a time-frame goal is no big deal, the main thing is that you still lost weight!

CW: 261.8
GW: 258.6

10.8lbs lost 4.2 to go

maybe just maybe if I try working REALLY hard this week I can make my goal. I just started using the weight machines at the gym and I'm trying to swim laps twice a week, so we will see! Good luck everyone! This is our last week of the challenge, so lets finish hard.

Numina - Thank you thank you!! I couldn't have done it without your awesome cheerleading skills! Hehe. And oh dear, I absolutely abhor Mondays, too... Somehow they always manage to turn out yucky! Kudos to you for keeping your cool amidst all the craziness, and DOUBLE kudos to you for eliminating another pound this week!! WTG for winning the team yet another triumphant victory over those EVIL Pounds O'Fat, hehe! And I'm so proud of you for sticking with the challenge 110%, even if you don't think you'll be able to meet your goal. Your dedication really shows! So I say, since this IS the last week - crunch time!! - let's go out with a BANG!! :s: The members of the Clan O'Fattie had better be shaking in their little Leprechaun boots!

irishsarah - Yes yes yes, I could not agree more--as long as you are making progress, who gives a rat's a** about when you meet the goal?! The only thing that matters is that you DO meet it sooner or later, and I know that you will! :D And oooh, the mock-up St. Patty's Day party sounds like a blast--I don't know if you were suggesting that seriously or not, but you should totally do it!! I'm super-Irish too, hehe, so I say you should take any possible opportunity to celebrate "our" holiday. ;) And if you do make Onederland by your birthday, great, but remember that if you don't, that is 100% okay, too. :dizzy:

nicki rose98 - Hehe, I just reread over the message I wrote to you the other day, and I realized that it packed a little too much "kickin' ya in the butt" and not nearly enough "hugs and support"! I really hope I didn't come across like I was telling you to quit whining and suck it up or something like that, because I totally meant everything in a joking manner! You absolutely have the right to throw yourself a pity party ANY TIME you need one, and you can make me #1 on the guest list! Don't ever apologize for confiding in us... I am honored that you trust us enough to share with us when you're just having a straight-up crappy day. But I am SO glad to hear that you are feeling better already!! Sounds like you are well on your way to getting your groove back, and I'm sure your newfound determination will reap some awesome results this week! Good luck! :D

heather88 - WOW, you've already lost 10.8 lbs for this challenge?! That is truly amazing! :yikes: I mean sheesh, and I thought I wasn't doing too shabby just from meeting my measly little 8-lb goal, hehe... But I aimed very low when I set that goal, cuz I had been plateaued for so long at that point that I honestly thought I'd be lucky to lose 1-2 lbs by the end of the challenge. :dunno: But instead you chose to shoot for the STARS, and you have done really, really well for yourself so far! Who knows?--at the awesome pace you have goin' on right now, maybe you WILL meet your goal. :chin: We'll be here cheering you on all week! Go hard or go home! Hehe. :cheer3:

Let's make the last week of this challenge the BEST one, ladies! Get out there and kick some weight-loss butt!!

Hey IrishSarah ---- you know it will be a day of celebration whenever one of us makes it to the promised OnederLand and there will be such partying and goings on! And I don't think we have seen the last of the headstones for Clan O'Fat erected by you on this challenge. You Irish colleens are a darn stubborn lot, so I know you will be working it hard this coming week. We already have plenty to celebrate come St. Paddy's --- we will have to hold a great big Irish wake for all the O'Fat clan members we have eliminated!

I sure have enjoyed this challenge with you Irish Sarah --- like I said in the beginning, you can really throw a party!

Go, Nicki Rose!

Look how much you want the healthier Nicki to show up! --- you are re-arranging your whole life to get to the gym, to eat well instead of conveniently, etc. Your dedication to this new way of living shows in every post. You have done fabulously this challenge!

And I detect by that sly twinkle in your Irish eyes that you have something special planned for our dreaded nemesis this week --- I don't know if it involves knives or gunpowder or a rubber trout, but I think there are going to be some very surprised Pounds O'Fat come St. Paddy's.

Kick them right in the begorrahs, Nicki!

Thank you for the vote of confidence, Meredith! It really helps me stick to my program when I feel like I am part of a team and it never hurts to have such a dedicated cheer leader! Is it my imagination or have you cranked up the old confidence level to atmospheric levels? Kudos to you for your strutting new attitude and for that new svelte body to strut in.

"Go hard or go home!" Love it!

And now, time for some serious shillelagh work on my oh-so-stubborn freeloading pounds O'Fat! DO you suppose smacking fat with an Irish baseball bat while singing "Oh Danny boy" counts as a cardio workout?

star Girl!!! Sometimes I need the kick in the butt too!! But I didn't take offense or get upset for ANYTHING you had said! Thanks for everything!

I am back at 195.5. Like the horrid weekend never happened. So I am super stoked. I am also super stoked because apparently I pi**ed my ex off (my daughter dad...the one that's not paying money). I dont' know what I did but I just feel good that I made him mad enough to send me a nasty text. LOL

Today is my strength today and I am gonna try to also fit in a 30DS tonight after work!

Wow! Y'all are doing just great. I'm just checking in to say that my weekend went great and I stayed within my calories the WHOLE time! I didn't measure everything out but I am getting pretty good at estimating and I was trying to estimate with rounding things higher. The good thing was they had pretty healthy choices and even whole wheat pasta. Yea!

When I got home on Sunday night my two guys had the flu. This morning I woke up with a headache, sore throat and muscle aches :tired: The good news is that I'm not the least bit hungry. So my plans to kick it into high gear with exercise isn't going to happen (for a few days). This week I was down 2.5 pounds. Certainly less than I was hoping for, but moving in the right direction again.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! It really helps... I am gonna do this - I don't know that I will make my goal - but I am not giving up yet!

Star2Be - the songs - Fighter is by Christina Aguilera (Not sure if I got her last name spelled correctly or not) and Bodies is by Drowning Pool. Bodies is pretty much metal.

I do have one really proud moment for today - at the gym I did the crossramp - I got in 5.35 miles in 65 minutes. I was all about myself for a good long while afterwards.... LOL

AH HA! Nicki, you sly colleen, you! This whole "gained back some weight" routine was just a ploy to lure new unsuspecting Pounds O'Fat into your house for a weekend ceilidh and then MASSACRE them! ZAP! POW! KABLOOIE! And suddenly there are simply less Pounds O'Fat in the world to mess with us!

And now, you are so close to making your LEAN MEAN GREEN COLLEEN goal --- I see you have pulled on your steel-toed boots to add some oooomf! to your kicks and have a whole bandolier of ninja shamrocks across your increasingly buff shoulders and back --- that last Pound O'Fat doesn't stand a chance!

Wonderful work on staying strong over the weekend --- it sounds like you made great choices and really worked that plan! And in the midst of it all, you managed to exterminate 2.5 Pounds O'Fat! :high: Sorry you won't be able to begin your exercise routine due to the flu, but it sounds like you have your exorcise routine down pat!

Hope you get to feeling better very soon!

I certainly like your attitude, Randi! After all, every single solitary Pound O'Fat that we destroy during this challenge is one more pound that isn't dragging us down and keeping us from our most healthy selves. The numbers we pledged on the LEAN MEAN GREEN MACHINE challenge are just a little added motivation.

But just in case you can use some help, why don't we sneak Heather, RN and Rebecca over to your place to perform a few sneaky assassinations on unsuspecting Pounds O'Fat? You can never have too many ninjas!

Bring on the Ninjas - they are more than welcome - I will leave out fresh fruits and veggies as treat for their butt kicking efforts!!

I am not even going to try that workout from you tube - I am relatively sure that I would be sliding off the counter and landing on me head!

Did 11.09 miles on the bike tonight in 49 min and 44 sec - I have over 20 miles in so far this week (more mileage to come tomorrow or Saturday) - if the scale does not move more than a half pound this weekend - then OFF WITH IT'S HEAD - because I have done some Irish Ninja style butt kicking in the gym this week!

Just have to say - I really like how you have managed to keep the theme going in this challenge....... It has made it really fun to read the posts!

Well now, Randi me dear, I would be paying money to see THAT, I would! (And what is this "crossramp" that you talked about yesterday --- it sounds sort of Jame Bond-ish (which is of course VERY different than James Bondage....)?)

The Three Little Ninjas asked me to thank you for the fruit-and-veggie tray you put out for them yesterday. (You didn't even see them, did you? aren't they great? but if you check the Laughing Cow in your fridge, you will see they drew tiny little shamrocks on the top of each wedge...) They did a complete overhaul of your weaponry --- sharpened some edges on a few shamrock throwing stars, added some weight to your O'Fat kicking boots -- but in general, they said you were right on track and working hard. The numbers WILL move on that dratted scale --- you know this is nothing more than a head game from the O'Fattie clan.

I salute the amount of hard gym work you have been posting on this challenge, Randi --- and I bet a pint of green water and a low-fat corned beef sandwich that you will writing the obituaries for a couple of more pounds before this challenge ends!

Guess what????? Reached my goal!!!! :cheer:Actually a pound over!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

I'm so excited. I kicked some behind yesterday :kickbutt: I did 30DS while DD was sleeping. Then when she got up we came to the gym and I tanned. After I tanned I did my strength (since I knew I wouldn't have time today) and I did 30 min on the elliptical!!!!!!!! :strong:

So today there is no cardio/strength in store but I'm about to do some serious filing and that burns a lot of cals and I'm waitressing tonight :hun: so I should still get some cardio in. lol

Good luck to everyone!!!! :goodluck:

nicki rose98 - Looks like that kick in the butt was exactly what you needed, hehe, because you met your St. Patty's Day goal!! And you're even already one pound below it?! WOOHOO!!! :yay: I am sooo happy for you, and so proud! Since I've been with you through all the ups and downs of this challenge, I almost feel like it's my own victory, too, LOL. WTG!! You rock!

gin - Mmm, that whole wheat pasta sounds really yummy! Good for you for making healthy choices... It makes such a big difference! So sorry to hear that you/your family have been feeling under the weather, though. Bummer, man! Hope you are already feeling better, and best of luck to ya for a very speedy recovery. :getwell: OH, and CONGRATS on being 2.5 lbs down!! Awesome job this week! :cp:

Randi - Ooh, okay, I know that Christina Aguilera song! I love that song, too!! I will definitely have to look up the other one... I'm into all kinds of music, so I always love "discovering" new stuff (or having it introduced to me, hehe!). Thanks! And WOW, well done getting in all that exercise! You're a lean mean (green ;)) workout machine!! :exercise:

Numina - WTG on the 2 lbs!!! YAY!! :dancer: Looks like when I told you to "go hard or go home," you really took it to heart! Hehe! And lemme tell ya, there's no way that you enjoy writing these posts even HALF as much as I enjoy reading them! They always bring such a smile to my face--this challenge has given me some of the strongest motivation to lose weight that I have ever had! I don't know what I'll do when it's over, LOL! Best of luck to you with smashing out those last 2 lbs before St. Patty's Day, chicky--YOU CAN DO IT!

cfmama - LOL, sometimes you just have to yell at your body a little bit in order to remind it who's BOSS: "Hey Clan O'Fattie, I'm the one in charge here, and don't you ever forget it!!" Good luck getting rid of the last 2 lbs (darn that TOM water weight!) and meeting your goal! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for ya! :crossed:

As for ME, today I weighed in at 167.6 lbs!! I might be a tad dehydrated, so I'm not 100% sure that it counts, but I'm still so happy! Here are my stats so far:

SW: 177.0 lbs on 2/20
2 weeks ago: 172.8 lbs on 2/27
1 week ago: 169.6 lbs on 3/6
CW: 167.6 lbs on 3/13!
GW: 169.0 lbs

That's a loss of exactly 2 lbs this week, and a total loss of 9.4 lbs for the challenge! :dancer: This is going to be a bit of a craaazy weekend--I'm preparing for final exams next week (noooo!) and I have a paper due Monday, but I'm also going to a concert and a party tonight (alcohol, eek!) AND there's a chance I'll have a date on Saturday! (You can find me gushing all about that in this (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166657) thread, heh, though he still hasn't called so I don't know what's going on! :dunno:) So yes, there will be lots of fun times, but also LOTS of stress, which has been known to push me to emotional eating/binges in the past... But I really would like to see if I can get even further below my 3/17 goal, so I'll do my best to plow on through! :s:

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! :goodluck: See ya for our LAST weigh-in!!

Lean Mean Colleen Advice: eat a good breakfast Saturday and Sunday because chaos is bound to ensue, remember cramming means info into your head not calories into your mouth (a hard lesson I learned in college lol), drink your water anyway and if you are going to be drinking the Demon Rum put some food in your stomach first so you can better control how drunk you get and how fast. Now that my mom is doing well, my youngest has been on antibiotics for a few days and I got the report from my doctor that my thyroid is STILL off (so I know I am not just going INSANE)...hopefully NOW, I can focus more on me and the clan o' fatties.

My scale is reporting a loss of two pounds and maybe a bit more. I am not sure. It was sorta trying to make up its mind between 252 and 251. I went with the higher number. That way, maybe tomorrow I will hop on the scale and see another pound gone. ;) Motivation is a strange thing, it doesn't have to make sense. LOL!

While I may not have made my St. Patrick's Day goal, I AM on track for my new and improved goal list. (I'll have to update my signature line with it later.) Actually, I am a pound LOWER then what I planned on being, so that is a positive. :D

Just .2 more lbs by tomorrow! I have NOT been eating on plan the past couple of days. 2 days ago I ate a double meat whataburger with cheese and bacon along with a large fry and large soda after a long night of drinking 6 beers a margarita, yager bomb, and a jello shot x.x. The next day I was still down .8lbs which put me at 258.8 but yesterday all I ate was pizza for breakfast AND lunch, and for dinner I had pot roast. I'm lucky that I did not gain any weight, but today I really have to kick it into high gear and MAKE SURE that I exercise because I also have not been doing THAT for 2 days straight.

In good news, I can now comfortably fit into a size 18 jeans WOOHOOO, when I get down to a size 16 I will have reached one of the goals that I set for myself!

I weighed in this morning - figuring that since this was what our challenge was about - good luck and all that to find out that I lost a great big ole goose egg..... This is really beginning to tick me off - when I started this whole new way of life - the pounds came off nicely...... Now it is a complete battle. I am guessing that I need to go find some camo, face paint and combat boots. Okay - enough whining..... I just need to find something to shock my body back into pound dropping mode.....

Congrats to everyone that has done so well in this challenge - you are giving me hope!!

Thanks, Randi ---- my son is pretty sick this morning too (luckily, they just finished all the state's standardized testing last week), so it is officially the flu.

Sorry the scales are stuck for you, Randi --- my guess is that they will change in the next 3 days just to be contrary! (The camo face paint is a cool idea, tho). I am impressed that you are sticking to the plan, even when your body is no longer cooperating --- your determination is helping ME stick with my plan even tho' I seem to be stuck here in plateau land as well, so thank you! Numina I hope all are healthy at your house today! I am getting ready to run out the door, there are parades to watch, dancing to do, music to listen to...so I must bid you all a Happy St Patrick's Day and be on me merry way. While I did not make goal, this has been the BEST challenge! You all have been so wonderful!
I'll try to weigh in ONE last time before I head out the door, but right now, I have to get some things organized. Congrats to all that tried, to all those that succeeded and especially those that KICKED ARSE on the challenge!

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig!

So I didn't meet my goal for this challenge, BUT I did lose 6 pounds! I briefly saw 269 flash on the scale but I was back up again today so I'm officially staying at 6. I don't even care about not meeting my goal because I've had MANY NSV during this challenge including going away for a weekend and not going over my calories :carrot: I also made it through the last week of having the flu while still making healthier food choices and not letting myself wallow in misery and eating for comfort. The first few days were easy because I was mostly sleeping and did not even want to eat but even after that I stayed mostly on plan. I was lacking veggies and eating more toast but not a complete derailment which is what I have done when I've been sick in the past. Thanks all for the support. I'm so glad that so many of you have smashed your goals! WOOOOOO!

I went back through the numbers folks posted and, as best as I can tell, this rocking group of ladies obliterated a total of 129 Pounds O'Fat in this challenge!

Team Leader IrishSarah --- do I have your permission to officially change the title of this challenge to LEAN MEAN GREEN COLLEENS?

Congratulations, everyone, for the weight loss, for the amazing amount of support you all gave to each other and most of all, for committing to a better way of living each and every day --- MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Thanks Numina! It is not to terribly hard to stay focused (even when I am not losing) when I see how well everyone else is doing. Even if I do occasionally whine about how unfair it is (THAT WAS A JOKE!!!)...

Besides - I put my foot in my mouth and signed up for something in May and now it is a case of do it or fail and be horribly embarrassed. Guess what my goal is.... LOL

Watched the links the Dancing was awesome - I would love to see it live... the commercial was FUNNY!!!

Okay - enough chatting - just wanted to say how awesome everyone did - you all rock! I wanna be like ya'll one day!!

Numina - hope your son is feeling better soon!

So what is the next challenge?
