So Mike and I love Kern's Nectar fruit drinks. Never really paid attention to the nutritional value till now. I always assumed they must be good for me since they are stampled with a "made from WHOLE FRUIT" label. They are loaded with sugar and carbs!!
I don't want to drink Diet Sodas because I read somewhere that among many other bad side affects Aspartame also acts as a preservative for fat cells .....umm GROSS!
Is there a nice fruity flavor full beverage out there containing less than 50 calories??
i'm afraid there probably really isn't. since i've started calorie counting, i've had to give up juice. or really all beverages that aren't water or tea or the occasional beer or whiskey. it's pretty tragic. i think probably your best bet if you crave some flavor is to buy a fruit juice and then just add a generous splash of it to a glass of water or plain seltzer.
I just drink water. But I've always done that. I don't like pop (soda). Occasionally I would have some sort of juice but all the ones that are just real juice are expensive and still have a lot of natural sugar.

I can't have aspartame... it gives me really horrible headaches! I really like water with (lots of) lemons in it. I also love a glass of organic nonfat milk from time to time! Also unsweetened iced tea with lemons! I love lemons! Vitamin water is nice if you need a little treat... I think that's about 50 calories/serving. Sometimes I drink tea with Splenda, although rarely! Those little packages of True Lemon, True Lime, and True Orange are good to put in your water!
Most fruit juices are full of sugar and carbs. It doesn't mean fruit juice is bad, but I don't really drink them unless it's for breakfast/going in my smoothie. You also consider that juice serving sizes should only be like 4-6 oz and commercial juices in single servings push 16-20 oz. That's a LOT of carbs and a TON of sugar.
So, I drink water. I feel so much better when I drink water almost exclusively. However, if you're looking for the "sweet" factor, you could try taking pure fruit juice (like 100% cranberry) and diluting it with water. Sweeten it up with a little sweetener like Splenda.
I also love tea. Sometimes I'll flavor my tea with lots of lemon and splenda (a la Arnold Palmer), or there's many many fruit-infused teas that are delicious, too.
Another favorite of mine is flavored sparking water. Canada Dry has a great line- my favorite is the cranberry lime seltzer. It isn't sweet, but it's SO refreshing.
I drink 1 cup of light orange juice a day. (50 calories) with my breakfast.
Other than that it is water, tea and then after my workouts I put a propel packet into my water and that makes it taste fruit but I do it for the health benefit.
If you're okay with Splenda, I know Walmart has a line of light fruit juice cocktail things that have 40 or 50 calories a serving. I don't know if they're good or not, though.
i dont know about fruit drinks.. the only ones ill have is v8 but im not sure on the calories on that, but if you want something that just tastes fruity and is low on calories.. i really like propel fitness water.. they are like i dont know 15-25 calories a bottle and really good. Also crystal light makes low calorie flavorings for water that are pretty good.
I drink diet coke. I usually drink like 1-3 cups of it a day. and I drink water and coffee in the morning with splenda and milk, though I'm trying to start drinking it with just milk but its a big adjustment as sad as that sounds, haha.
p.s. diet coke and rum is like every dieters dream drink when out at bars. that or vodka tonic.
You aren't going to find 100% juice with 50 calories per cup.
I usually drink water or unsweetened iced tea, and also berry seltzer (no sugar or sweetener added).
If I want something juice-ish I have maybe 1/4c juice plus 3/4c or more berry seltzer. Nice flavor, some fizz, no artificial sweeteners, not too much juice.
Vodka, water, whole milk, tea/coffee. In that order.
I really like Ribena (it's black currant syrup that you mix with water) but I don't think it's low calorie. It does have a lot of antioxidants though. I can't eat all the calories I need for the day without feeling full to the point of being ill, so I tend to drink 60-70% of them.
I've always loved Crystal Light, but I've been considering drinking some V8 Splash Pomegranate and Blueberry to help me up my veggie/fruit intake. Has anyone heard anything negative about it? They taste amazing!! But most things that do aren't always that good...
