That's a really interesting question... I love movies and know a decent amount about them, but after thinking about it for 10 minutes, I got nothin'!
Sadly, the only thing that comes to mind at all is Thinner, which, if you don't know, is a horror movie about a guy dramatically losing weight because he's cursed. lol, I don't think that's what you have in mind.
I can't even think of many movies that have weight as a central focus, just Shallow Hal and Baby Cakes.
Hopefully someone else will be able to come up with something!

There is a documentart on oprah on vhs. Its pretty old but that movie inspires me so much! Its called MAKING THE CONNECTION . It shows here at her heaviest, saddest and how she feels and all heavy women can relate! There was one thing she said that made me feel like we connected.. she said she was walking up to the stage to accept an award and she was worried about if her fat would shake and jiggle , so she walked as slow as possible up to recieve it.. You really gota see the movie! its gard to find but 100% worth it. her friend is in it too and it shows her losing 50 some pounds too!
Two "makeovery" movies are Strictly Ballroom and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The Mirror Has Two Faces deals with weight loss (a bit), but I'm not a Barbra fan, so I haven't sat through the whole thing.
The only thing I can think of that even remotely does is Bridget Jone's Diary, and that's barely in there.
Really? I've never seen the movie, but I read the book and it was a major focus of the book. That's the movie I assumed people would talk about in this thread, lol. Goes to show that the movies aren't always just like the books.
You know what weirds me out about Bridget Jones's Diary (the book, not the movie) is that is is so weight-focused, yet EVERY SINGLE ONE of her daily weigh-ins is less than I have ever weighed (and I've spent plenty of time in the "normal" weight range)! And her height is never mentioned - but it makes her seem pudgy at those weights - so she must be pretty short, eh?
I always thought that part of the point was that she had this warped view of herself... that she was actually an AVERAGE, healthy weight, but she always wanted to be skinny model thin. But Fielding really never gets that point across that well because OTHER people seem to comment on her weight, too. So maybe Fielding just has a warped view of weight...
What always bothered me about the movies was that they make teensy tiny Renee Zellwegger (who probably weighs in just around 100 pounds or so) gain 30 or more pounds and it just looks unnatural and BAD. The second movie especially. They could have gotten a "normal" person who wears that same amount of weight really well and would look really slim at 135. Instead, Renee looks kind of puffy and yicky... especially in the second movie.
I really like the TV movie "Babycakes" starring Ricki Lake. Although it never really gets into her trying to lose weight, it revolves around issues about being overweight. It is more of a fat acceptance kind of movie. It's a feel-good fat chick flick.
