So, as of this morning I've lost nine pounds (in two weeks!). I can tell because my pants no longer leave deep welts at my waist, but I'm not at a point where others can tell yet. That's okay, because I'm doing this for health reasons, not vanity reasons, but I'm just curious: How many pounds did it take for y'all before people started commenting on your weight loss?

Well, for me it was 20 lbs (9 weeks), but they knew I have been trying so they might be looking to see the change more than somebody who doesn't know.

I think it is harder for people who see you everyday to notice as much as someone you haven't seen in awhile. For me it was 40lbs when I ran into someone I hadn't seen in six months and she said "Wow! You have lost so much weight! How are you doing it?".

40 or 50 pounds, actually, but I "carried it well." heh...

It depends, some people don't want to say anything. I'd estimate about 70 lbs before someone ever said anything to me.

No one except my husband said anything until I lost around 50 pounds....now everyone is noticing. It's weird once it starts rolling lol

30lbs. A girl said to me "oh my God, you've lost so much weight! How much weight have you lost?" and I said "Oh, 30lbs" and she said "Wow, I wouldn't've thought you had 30lbs to lose!" I don't know if that last bit was a compliment or a dig.

Still, I've gained it all back now *stupid*

It was probably a good 8 months or so... 80lbs about before anyone said anything.

At 30 pounds, a coworker noticed and made a really nice comment.

At 40 pounds, another coworker noticed and made a really nice comment.

At 50 pounds, my husband finally noticed :D And so did my dad and stepmom and some other people.

It was right around 45-50 lbs for anyone to say anything to me.

I work with a bunch of women who have no problem at all drawing attention to my weight and discussing my weight and commenting on how my clothes are fitting etc. etc. LOL, sometimes it's annoying, but I know they mean well and they cheer me on, so it's nice.

Anyway, they started to notice when I'd lost about twenty pounds, I guess, but I'd already lost 30 before I started this job.

For me it was around the 20 pound mark and for some reason - I lost a lot in my face or something because for about a week people where looking at me and saying things......kind of like all of a sudden it struck them that I was losing weight. It did not bother me until someone made a comment in a room full of people - some that I was meeting for the first time... {CRINGE}

I've never had an unsolicited comment. One of my goals is to finally hear my Dad say, "Look at you! You've lost so much weight!"

I had lost over 60 lbs before I was noticed at all. Really bothered me.

My cousin had lost like 40 and everyone was like Wow.. **** You look great. They didnt even notice I had lost. But once everyone started noticing, it was great.

Of course Ive gained quite a bit back, so Im back in the waiting boat myself.

I think I really started getting the compliments at around 50 lbs. Now, it is almost all the time (I look really different). People are asking me my secret, and I guess I am inspiring people as peole are now coming up to me to tell me how much weight they have lost.

At 30 pounds folks started to notice. The real key was when I had to stop wearing my "bigger" clothes (which had started tight and were now very loose) and begin wearing things that fit better.

Someone I work with just lost 22 pounds. I didn't notice...I really felt bad. Once she told me I could see some subtle changes (and I don't see her every day.) I suspect when she loses another 10 or so it will be very obvious.

Gosh, I was so impatient for people to notice - once they did, it snowballed and I'm impatient for them to stop. My size is a tiresome constant conversation piece. How about the weather? That's a lot of weather we've been having lately.

Starting at 5'10", 295 pounds it was 60-70 pounds before anyone outside of my circle noticed. Coincidentally, it also took that long to truly change a pants size (I hate muffin top! Will never squeeze into anything).

The last time I lost weight it was around 35 lbs... I heard later that a lot of people noticed but didn't say anything.
