there can be LOTS of reasons for the leg cramps - did you just have your surgery recently? Sometimes it's as simple as the fact that you might be getting more exercise -or, as noted above, vitamins and water. or more calcium. or or or or
Do you have pain in your calf? Did you have leg cramps before your surgery?
How is your potassium? How is your water intake? Are you sitting and laying with your legs propped up? Oh, you went back to work! Hummmm....CALL THE DOCTOR!
When I was following atkins, high protien (low carb) I would get such cramps. What I did was take a magnesium/calcium tablet and poof! the pain was gone. Be careful with to much potassium.
I went to Doc. I starting having alot of pain in my lower abdomen so wen to for an MRI, two days for the results. Doc thinks the pain is a pulled muscle. He just said deheydration is the likely cause of the cramps and wants me to drink more water. Not sure how much more water I can drink I feel like a water cooler bottle as it is. I just drink a little pedialyte and took some liquid potasuim which seems to have helped a tad. Thanks for everyone's response.
MRI was negative, except small piece of fat that came off by the band. Surgeon says not to worry. I did pull a muscle which hurts like heck. More water and Liquid Potasium is doing the trick muscle cramps are almost gone
