General chatter - Pet/Nicknames for our S.O.

As Mrs Dorson (sp sorry?) stated it would be neat to see what we call our cherished ones! All fun please no nasty names please!

My fiance and I call each other "Cucciolo" and "cucciola," Italian for "Puppy" (or rather, a lot of different baby animals, but especially puppy). But of course, cucciolo gets shorted by me to Cucci (coo-chi) and cucci face and, finally, just "cooch." But I don't mean cooch in THAT way :)

I also call him "Poopie" and "Poopie face" and a few others too. It's weird, but I seem to call him the same names I call my 12-year-old golden retriever lol.

We're lame. (Oops - that word again! :) )

We call each other bachula. It's Spanish baby talk for the work "basura", which means trash.

Yes, we call each other trash. My parents don't get it either.

I have a few I've used over the years right now I have someone who I refer to as "pumpkin." But I've also used "love" in the past as well. So uncreative. :lol:

I also was dog sitting this past week and called the dog both of those. :o

I don't think it's too bad, but I sometimes call him "lustybuns." I think mostly they're cute, but a little sexy (which disturbs alot of people, seeing two fat people call each other sexy nicknames).

A lot of his friends do raise their eyebrows when he calls me "hottie," (and it's not like they're a bunch of babes, themselves. In fact, the babes of the group aren't the ones raising the eyebrows - they think it's "sweet").

I do tend to be more likely to use the names in public, no matter how silly. Which I think is why hubby does the "I am Sweetie Pie" or whatever I call him in his superhero voice, in response. To cover his embarassment.

Oh, another "sweetie pie" story.

My sister always called her oldest son, "pumkin" when he was little. We took him shopping when he was around three, and I called him "sweetie pie," and he said very indignantly "I'm not a tweetie pie, I'm a puntin."

Okay, I was just thinking about it and I remembered the weirdest name I gave to an SO. It was "Slater", as in AC Slater from Saved by the Bell. He got this nickname because of his toilet.

***Explanation not for people who don't get toilet humor*****

He's German and I was living in Germany. His toilet was one of those weird ones that instead of a bowl, it had a shelf and at the very front of the toilet there was this deep hole. The only way I could figure out to get number 2 in the hole was to AC Slater the toilet, or sit on it backwards, like AC Slater would sit on every chair in the show. Thus, he became Slater.

It wasn't until I had visited a lot more people's houses that I figured out that this type of toilet was common there. A whole country of Slaters!!!

I call him Snugglebuns (Have you noted the "buns" theme in a lot of our nicknames?) and that gets shortens to Snugs. He calls me Bunnies -- not Bunny, but the plural. He says that it is because if the "bunniness" in my soul...I'm not sure what that means, but I think I like it. At this point, I sign my notes to him with two quickly sketched rabbits -- embracing my inner, big-eared, buck-toothed spirit guides.

Lets see we use - cheeseball, horndog, your standard babe sweethears, lover, sweetcheeks, honey etc. Butt (lol) my fave is to call him trucker butt. He is a trucker who is very healthy and fit and has the rounded skater bum cheeks that are so great to grab. And so does not have a trucker butt.

My husband does not have a cute butt, he has no butt at all. He collects frogs - and looks a bit like a frog from the back, because his legs just come off his back with no real butt to speak of, like a frog's, so I call him frog butt.

And after he calls me sexiehottiewife, I am horrible.

But I'll call him honey-bunny (he dislikes the bunny part) and sometimes I'll just add honeey..-bunches of oats! - we both love that cereal lol.. it's so cheesy. He calls me pretty much everything in the book, honey, baby, sexy, sweetie.. -- I wish we had more creative names to call each other! =P

now our cat- she has like 100 nicknames.

My mother points out that my dad call's her bee sh.. (honey). We actually had a debate as to whether it was more correctly bee poop, or spit, or vomit.

I only call him by his nickname when I am insulting him. This is mean. Dippydew. I got this name from the movie Scream. It is Deputy Dewey played by David Arquette. He is such a ding dong in that movie. Other than that, I think I would laugh out loud if something sappy or really sweet came out of my mouth. I have had several boyfriends give me nicknames however. My last ex probably hit the nail on the head with "Devil Woman."

He's my Sweeby.

I'm his Sweetness.

And, of course, we throw in the regular "Hey, Cutie" to eachother.

He's either my hunny bunny or buddha (he's got a round belly like one). We're really not much for the pet name thing I mostly use it when I want or need something and when he calls me sweety or honey I giggle like a little girl and he finds that quite amusing.

I call my kids - cuddlebugs...my 12 yr old boy cringes but 7 yr boy and 5 yr old girl are still ok with it.

Let's see - the Boy is boo-buggy (he hates it). the Girl is lady-bug or punkin-baby or heifer (she used to be as graceful as the cow on Cow and Chicken). She answers to all of them.

My ex is Bozo because he clowns me all the time.

I'm not too creative, but I call him "Hon" (as in honey) a lot. However, I've learned that I pretty much use it before I ask him to do something..."Hey hon? Can you empty the dishwasher?" The funny thing is, I only realized it after I started hearing my toddler daughter call for him the same way when she needs something. It's kinda embarrassing when we're at Target and I hear her yell "Hey hon!"

As for Angie and I...it's just BABE....always. We do use STALKER (me) and STALKEE (her) for our :o e-mail - textes - and card exchanges that are a little on the ...ahem....nasty side ;)

My husband calls me kitten or baby. He rarely says my name, what's up with that? I'm constantly yelling 'Mike!', but I never hear him saying my actual name.

Since having my son we both (son and I) call him daddy. Which is really disturbing come to think of it - fine for my son, not for me. I feel all yuck typing that out. :dizzy: I used to call him boo. That was better.

Ugh, FB that reminds me, my husband refers to us as mommy and daddy to our cat. I never in a million years would have thought I would be a cat's "mommy," nor that it would be my giant viking/biker looking husband to be the one who started the habit.


He'll tell the cat "go wake Mommy..." I resisted at first, but now I do the same thing, "go see Daddy." Yes, as much as I hate sap, I have become a cat's mommy.

As for nicknames, I'm called chickybird (big shock!) and he is called Ducky.

Oh... the cat's mom and dad. Yeah. Drives me crazy when people do that with their pets ... but we do it at home when no one else is around. :) What can I say - I never claimed to be consistent.

I call my husband my "Goober."

My DH does the whole mom/dad thing with the pets. I cringe. In my head I am thier human. Yet you will catch me calling the animals baby or babe.

Oh yeah, being a cat mom skeeves me out as well. Mainly for this reason - you see, I'm a very visual person and I get the creeps picturing myself birthing a cat or dog - claws, fur and all. Not to mention nursing. My god!

The mommy and daddy bit creeps me out, even when I use it. The funny thing is both of the cat's we've done it with, were very maternal with us, so if anything, the cat would have been "mommy." Although hubby plays that up too, sometimes calling us, as if from the cat's persective, the "big dumb kittens."

Believe it or not, my husband's nickname is Poop. Not by me, but a long time nickname given to him in high school. His last name has a syllable in it that sounds like "Pee" and his mature high school friends used to replace it with Poop. Then, it stuck. He is 34 years old, and will run into an old high shool friend, who yells across the public place, "Hey POOOOOP!" :^:

Most of the time I call my husband "Swee". Not sweetie-Swee.

My husband calls me Ames Jo (pronounced AMOS).

It all started about 9 years ago. There was a department store named AMES, and it was pronounced AIMS. My husband kept pronouncing it AMOS, and when he realized it bothered me, he started calling me AMOS, but spelling it AMES on notes, etc. :mad:

The Jo part came from the fact that everyone always assumes my middle name is Jo (it's not) because my first name commonly goes with Jo as a middle name. I am always having to tell people my middle name is NOT Jo. So, my husband, being the irritator that he is, started the nickname.

He writes it Ames Jo, but pronounces it AMOS JO. He has bothered me for almot 10 years now with this nickname. Even my Valentine's Day cards and holiday presents are addressed to the nickname.

I call my hubby Sugabutt. Cuz this one time he ate a ton of sour candy and sugar just got everywhere. And he carried some of the sugar to the bedroom on his behind, lol.
