Mine went to the gym to day with me for the first time. He only has about 15 pounds to lose or so, and he is kind and supportive, but OUT OF SHAPE, I kicked his butt!
It was fun, to be together working hard, pushing each other, more me than him, and learning a little more about each other in turn!
Today will be " take your husband to the gym day" evermore!
I've taken my DH to the gym once. ONCE. We had a blast and I've never laughed so hard during one of my workouts. I found it kind of distracting to have him there. Maybe it would be different if we did this on a regular basis
Its great that you had a great time with your DH during your shared workout together. Motivating each other this way is great. Your right, there is opportunity to learn a lot about your partner this way too.
I do. We get on treadmills next to each other at the gym for a half hour and then move to recumbent bikes next to each other for another half hour. Or we swim laps in lanes at the gym's pool for an hour.
On days we don't go to the gym, we go for a walk in our neighborhood, holding hands at first and then--after warming up--more like a workout the rest of the way.
