Default you guys...lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, for real

thank you guys so much for your support

really and truly, i didn't expect to have so many good vibes and prayers coming my way, but they must have helped because yes, I did it!

so, since we live together and neither can afford to move out, we're in some strange territory now. i felt closer to him last night than i had in a long time...ah, emotions, so unpredictable. regardless, i know i did the right thing and now its time to move ahead with my independence, while still sharing the same bed for now (which has been used for nothing more than just sleeping for months now!)...

again, thank you all so much!!

Good for you! I hope you'll be able to find an affordable place soon (or both find new roommates). I remember how hard it was for me when I broke up with my bf while he was staying with me for a weekend and he still had to sleep over that last awkward night, while we were both in a lot of pain and it felt like emotional closeness. I know you'll stay strong and stick with the right choice for you!

Oh Sonja, I'm glad to hear it turned out okay. I didn't get to the other thread in time to jump in with good vibes and well-wishes so I'll have to give them after the fact. Being in such close quarters is going to be awkward but you'll get through it. I've had friends in that position and they all made it out on the other side. Good luck with this!

I'm glad things turned out "Okay". It'll be strange, for sure. But, with time you'll be able to properly move on.

Thumbs up

We knew you could do it! Here's to staying strong and getting through this next challenging part. My ex-hubby and I had to share the house for 3 months after we broke up, for the same reasons and it was not easy, but it was do-able.

Wow, that takes a lot of courage! Good for you! The living situation sounds tough, but as long as everyone acts like grown ups you guys should be alright! Are you apt hunting now?

I am half-heartedly apt hunting.
Everything in my life right now feels really open -- whether I'll graduate with my masters at the end of the summer, whether I'll move to NY, stay here in Boston, I just don't know...so I REALLY don't feel like moving right now if I'm just going to move again in May or June or Sept!
Thanks again, all. It's esp comforting to know that others have survived this awkward situation!
