I know this is a different title for the menu thread, but I really need to start planning for more than one day at a time. I thought I was doing fine just planning my meals the night before, but I fell out of the habit when things got hectic at work. To remedy the situation, I'm going to plan for the whole week instead of just the next day. Here are my dinner plans for the week (as that is the meal I need to plan for the most!):

Monday: ham steak and steamed broccoli and cauliflower
Tuesday: turkey burgers and salad
Wednesday: spaghetti squash and pasta sauce w/ground turkey breast
Thursday: orange chicken and broccoli
Friday: probably will eat out--protein and vegetable
Saturday: broccoli, chicken, and cheese soup
Sunday: baked chicken breast w/bbq sauce, avocado, and Swiss cheese, mashed cauliflower

We have kidney this week. I hope I can fix it good. Other than that the usual salmon, haddock, I have marinated herring this week instead of the usual canned kippers. The sodium is better its a local produce too. Has anyone fixed kidney before?

02-27-2008, 08:29 AM
Spirit, I'm pretty sure kidney is a food to be avoided on SBD. I may be wrong, but usually organ meats are pretty high in fat and are a no-no.

02-27-2008, 04:51 PM
No, I'm pretty sure she means the kidney organ, like beef kidneys. Haven't ever eaten or cooked them myself. I wouldn't know what to do with them!

02-27-2008, 05:08 PM
Wow! I guess I have never had kidney organ meat before. :D Thanks for explaining.

So far this week, I have stuck to making my planned dinners every night. Yay! But I've also gotten into the bad habit of eating way too much in the evenings. Boo. I need to work on that, as I've been gaining back some weight--not good!

Here's the plan for today:

mini quiches
egg salad
salad - romaine, baby spinach, broccoli slaw, red cabbage, sliced almonds, chicken, and Asian sesame dressing
tuna salad
orange chicken and broccoli
2 string cheeses

02-28-2008, 07:37 AM

Yesterday was not according to my planned menu, and today is already veering off course. I'm not eating cookies or candy or anything crazy, but I'm not eating exactly what I want to, either. But, my division president is buying lunch for my team today, and not accepting is a no-no  So here's how today will shape up:

hamsteak with honey mustard (well, maple mustard? I made my own honey mustard using sf pancake syrup and Splenda instead of honey)
cafe sandwich--turkey, lettuce, avocado, Swiss cheese, and mayo on whole wheat, side caesar salad (instead of the potato ships the sandwich normally comes with)
dinner will probably be out tonight--maybe see a movie, too :)What a mess of a day--don't know why I even bothered to post it here :dizzy: I'll be buckling down more starting tomorow. My weight is back up to 312 as of this morning, so I need to get it going back in the other direction.
