Hi all,

Judy - Congrats on getting the job! I'm so excited for you. How is it commute-wise? I hope you enjoyed every bite of the latkes, as well as your steak dinner at Pete Lugers. I've heard of it. Did you get hit with the snow, etc. last week? Right now we are in the middle of a torrential rain, but at least it's not a freezing rain - yet. My joints are so-so. Going off the nuproxen was just as much a killer as last time. I think I get used to being relatively unstiff and pain free, and then bam. Advil seems to be working pretty well. I've having John check to see what our coverage for physical therapy is and I may ask my doc to prescribe a course of that. And I've just about decided to join one of the two nearby health clubs that have trains with a physical therapy bent. I'm starting to be the mirror image of my mom when it comes to getting out of the car, out of a chair, etc., but she's 80 and I'm 48 and I can't continue like this.

Sister of the Groom - I believe you asked in the last thread what a latke is. It's a potato pancake. Much goodness.

I think we've hit on a new eating right aid her in our family. Our church is still under debt from our new building and they asking for pledges of $X/per month over the next two years. We're going to do it, but the only way we can is to give up our ever-growing dependency on take-out and restaurant meals. So it's more cooking and healthier meals for us and that can only be good for my diet. And, with that said, off to get some groceries.

Talk to you soon.

Carla

Sister of the Groom - sorry I didn't get back to you last week. Yes, as Carla says, it is a potato pancake - fried, yummy and a traditional food for Hanukkah (and the only time I eat them.) They were certainly yummy.

Carla - I think that's such a great "bringing together" for lack of a better way to say it - giving to your church and cooking healthier meals. I'm sure you will feel better too. Tony and I always try to make at least one thing over the weekend that provides a few meals during the week. It really helps to have something that's easy to heat up when things get crazy during the week. I hope your insurance covers some PT - even if it's limited because the PTs can work with you and give you a home program to follow up with. I think it's great that you are thinking about joining a gym with a physical therapy bent too. Thanks for the congrats. I've only been to the new school from my old school but I've been to the district headquarters and it may be 5 or 10 minutes more of a commute - not bad. I'll have a better indication next Thursday when I go there for a day to speak with the teacher who is going out on leave.

It has been a horrible week eating-wise so far which started with overeating at my mom's, continuing at Peter Lugers and the snacking for the last few days. I'm sure it's stress - and the feeling that while I am very excitied about the new job, it's sad to leave the great people at my current school. Add in nerves about starting at a new place and it's not an easy time for an emotional eater. After the peanut M&M's last night though, I hereby announce that I am DONE with all that. It doesn't help me feel less nervous or sad. I've promised myself that my eating is going to be strictly Core today. The activity will probably be yoga for my back which has been very grouchy since the weekend but I'm going to try to do something. Thank goodness for my yoga classes this week - I've gotten pedometer steps in but no other workouts besides yoga class.

Off to work - have a great one!
Judy
