Hey Makin' I use pilates bands that I got from Target. It was $10 for a 3 pack. There's a really great workout you do with them on the msn.com fitness site but you can find other workouts online too. For Cardio you could get a weighted jump rope. Jumping rope is really great exercise. You could pick up some 5lb+ dumb bells also. Good luck!

You could always walk, jog or turn on some music and dance around the house til you work up a sweat (this is a fun exercise) They also have mini trampolines you can buy & thats a good workout while watching tv

You can get some cheap stuff, like a hula hoop, hand weights, videos, jump rope. Mini trampolines at Wal*Mart are about $15. But even without this stuff, just get up and march in place while watching TV. Make it a real march, bring the knees up. Swing your arms. Or get something to act as a step. If you have a little stool or anything you can step up on. Grab a couple bottles of water as hand weights and step up while lifting. A little aerobics routine. Kick back while taking the weights back. Or lift your knees while taking the weights straight up. Or take them out in front with a kick. Do that in front of the TV. Situps, pushups and crunches are always good toning and totally equipment free. Jumping jacks.

Basically, if you're sitting on the couch watching a show, you're missing valuable exercise time. I have some video rentals I just picked up today. That's could be 6 hours of exercising over the next few days.

Hey makingthechange, if you have a DVD player...you have exercise equipment. Join netflix or blockbuster and rent some exercise videos. I am LOVING Walk Away the Pounds right now. It is a great video that does a whole body workout.

Also, if you're a Comcast digital cable subscriber, you can get a TON of free exercise videos on Comcast OnDemand. It's called Exercise TV and it is AMAZING. Workouts both long and short, cardio and strength training, yoga, pilates, anything you can think of. TaeBo and kickboxing, belly dancing, even erotic chair dancing,

I love it because there is always a variety.

FitTV is another channel that has some exercise programs, though they're not on demand. I've used both RCN and TimeWarner and had the FitTV channel.

AlmostHeaven - do you have OnDemand/digital cable?

It is channel 1 on your digital box.

Going to channel 1 opens a menu of possible programs that can be watched on demand. If you go to the "Sports and Fitness" menu, then "Exercise TV", you can find the programs.
