Default Buying a Scale - Any Advice?

Hi Everyone ~

I'm wondering if the $10.99 Sunbeam brand scale is just as good as the fancy $50 models (minus the digital dial)? That's about all my budget allows, but I want to get an accurate scale.

Thanks.

Mine is a 17.00 Sunbeam digital. I like it and it seems pretty accurate.

If your budget is an issue then I'd say that the more important thing is that the scale is consistent over time--it doesn't matter that much how accurate it is because the important thing is that you be able to track your weight loss. If you lose 50 pounds, it doesn't matter much whether those 50 pounds take you from 220-170 or 210-160. Either way you've lost 50 pounds. Get the scale you can afford.

I like my digital one from wal mart for 19.99 it keeps track of pounds and ounces and you can save (i think) 2 weights...not that I need to that is why I am not sure if it is 1 or 2. But it also does metric

The more expensive models have things like body fat percent calculator and total water weight--if you like tracking those things in a general way, then it's worth it. If not, then probably the cheaper ones are fine for you. No need to spend a lot--it's just for tracking purposes, namely watching how your weight changes over time.
