OK now. A word of advice to you all. If you have to pee really bad, DO NOT blow your nose.

And that's all I'll say about that. :o

Last day of work today. Presents and cookies abound!!! I'll take the presents but keep passing on the cookies, fudge, candy, etc. Oh, I hope I can keep this up. I've not been on my scale for a couple days but think I'm doing well. (Did I just jinx myself???) Actually, with all this congestion, etc. I just don't have much of an appetite. Hmmm.... new weight loss method??

Today I'm wearing the socks that Rich bought me as a gag gift. They have bells on them so now I jingle when I walk. It's funny because they're covered and a bit muffled by my pants and, when I walk by, people keep stopping and looking around because they hear bells but don't know where they're coming from. Ah, well. Tis the season to be silly!

Today, the woman we all call "the old witch" isn't in and it's just so much more pleasant around here. However, I've done some soul searching and have decided that one of my new year's resolutions is going to be to try and be nicer to her. She's obviously just old and bitter and petty and insecure and I should just feel sorry for her. Well, that's the plan anyway. I may blow that one really quick though. I just don't have the patience for meanness and pettiness.

Sam, nice to hear from you. I've always wondered what it would be like to have Christmas in the middle of summer. Most of us here think of snow and cold weather when we think of the holidays. 10 days off sounds wonderful either way!!! ;)

Sherry, I like your family Christmas card. I keep trying to talk Rich into a nice, casual picture card but he won't do it! Camera shy, I guess. Humph.

Bought a few more Christmas presents last night. Just little things for Rich from the grocery store. Then I lapsed into panic when I realized I'd forgotten to pick up the gift I ordered from the Italian market for my dad. They were closed so I have to get there by 6PM tonight or no gift for dad!!!! :( Pretty stupid of me. Now I have a mission!

Well, I've been interrupted about 5 times since I started typing so I'd better go. Traffic was light this morning and phones have been quiet so far. Hoping the company president will make his usual rounds at about lunchtime and start sending people home.

Gotta run.
Hope you have a good one!
Love, Jo.

Thought I would check in for a few minutes this morning to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Today is the last day of work...I'm hoping to be out of here by about 11:00. Then it's off to Swift Current for Christmas and then to Winnipeg for a few days after Christmas.

Have to be back to work on Jan. 2, but I am on call from Dec. 29. I guess that's in case we get any snow or there is an emergency of some kind. Oh well, if something happens the 29th or 30th, they are out of luck 'cause I just won't be home yet. Please pray for NO snow...

Sharon - So good to hear that your father is doing well. I have been thinking about you this week and hoping that everything was working out. Take care of yourself, too.

We opened Christmas presents last night with one of the kids. He is working over Christmas so couldn't come with us to visit the rest of the family. We had our party with him last night. Isn't growing up wonderful. I have finally moved from the "SHE won't let me..." to the "You guys are rockin." I have occassionally even had my name restored - get called mom once in a while, instead of SHE.

I'm still planning to stay OP over Christmas and occassionally use banked points.

Wishing the very best to everyone and will check in when I get home from holidays.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Luv,

CJ

We just home a friends's Christmas party. It's been a VERY busy day! This morning my hubby went shopping with me and I swore from the last shopping trip that I would never go again with him!!! I just needed ONE more gift and even though we drove around the mall for 30 minutes trying to find a parking place.......I'm so proud of him....he did good!!! Luv ya!!

Jo~~~~I laughed so hard when I read about your socks jingling!! I bet you intertained everyone!! LOL!! About the "old witch" at work....Yes, try to be nice to her.Maybe she needs a friend.I think when a person is that hateful, they don't like themself and therefore it's hard for others to like them. You're a nice person and she'll be glad for someone to be nice to her! Then again.....she may WANT you to be ugly to her too!! LOL!! BTW......You're a BRAT!!!!!!!

CJ~~~~ You said in your post that ..."You had to run and be back later." Are you STILL running????!!! I love to tease

Hello everyone. Well I'm at work, boo hoo. It is SO quiet here - the roads were almost empty. I live in a city where heaps and heaps of people head interstate for the holidays. This will be my first silly season here and I'm actually looking forward to it. Peace and quiet will be nice.

That said my Mum and two brothers arrive this afternoon so it won't be so quiet!

Jo - how are you losing weight this time of year? You legend! Hey, do you have progress pics? Now that you've lost so much I wanna see some - you too Peggy!

CJ - I hope your back gets better over the next few days and I hope you arew having a ball with the grandkids.

Sassy/Chrissy - have a wonderful Christmas and hold your Dad tight. Chrissy - I'm thinking of Rick right now and hope that this Christmas is easier on you and the girls than last year :)

Well I'd best go. Christmas Eve this year is so more exciting than last. I cannot wait to see my family and to stack all Charlotte's presents around her - which of course will be higher than her! - and take a photo.

Christmas with a new and adored baby (can I still call her a baby at 8 months?) - nothing like it!

I'll be back in a few days. Meanwhile everyone have an amazing Christmas! This is the third Christmas for me as part of this group - I've been a member almost 3 years now - and each year as people come and go, this group remains very special. I'm so glad to be a part of it.

Much love to all of you. And claps from Charlie because she has just learnt to clap her hands and so does so for the most part of each waking day! LOL

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very merry Christmas. Now that things around here are quieted down some maybe I will have some time to post. Thank you Sam for thinking of me and the girls. Yes, this Christmas is a little easier, but it will never be the same. Thank you Sam. God bless you and your little family!

My new years resolution last year was to quit smoking, which I did. One year ago January 1st, 8:30 a.m. was my last cigarette, this year's resolution will be to loose the weight that I gained.

I hope that everyone has a good Christmas. And a safe and happy new year. See you all soon.

Love, Chrissy

Wishing you all a very happy and safe holiday season!!

Overdid it with the cookies I baked on Saturday and the family dinner gathering on Sunday but have been behaving (sort of ;) ) since then. Menu for tomorrow is turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, spinach.... Notice I didn't mention any dessert. Here's hoping I can stick with that plan.

Either way, I'm having a great holiday and I hope that all of you, my friends, are too!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! :) :)

Much love, Jo.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's 2:00am here so it's offically Christmas!! Couldn't sleep so thought I would post.

Today was another busy day.We went to my in-laws and my Parents to exhange gifts.Tomorrow (well in a few hours..lol) we will get up, open our gifts.... then go to my Aunts house that lives about 2 hours away.My Dad's family always meet there on Christmas Day.We'll ge home around 6-7:00. It's way out in the country and the boys enjoy seeing their "country kin-folks!" :)

Today at my In-laws something happened that has bothered me.My hubby's niece was raised by his parents so therefore she's like a Sister to him.She & her kids have always got anything they wanted from his Parents.Which is great...but enough is enough! When we got ready to open the gifts, I overheard my Mother-In-Law tell her to wait 'til we leave to open theirs!!! I KNOW that it's better to GIVE than RECEIVE....but good grief! We got the same gift as always.....A UGLY SHIRT! Lisa & her kids gifts were piled up! I know I sound so ugly and God forgive me for sounding so bad BUT I STILL think that was a mean thing to do!! Do you agree???? And you know what? I TRULY love my In-Laws and ALWAYS have.

My Mom,Dad & Brother gave me lots of "coca-cola" things that I didn't have.Yes......I collect coke stuff!!:) The BEST gift was a BEAUTIFUL picture frame with lace around the inside of the frame with ...."Why God gave Mother's Daughter's". It's so pretty and I cried when I read it.

I have done sooooooooo bad on my eating.I'm scared to weigh!! But the first of the year....WATCH OUT!! I'm going to be "one BAD Momma!!" I'm going to have so much motivation, determination and give so much support...ya'll may make me leave!! LOL!!!

Better get in the bed....only have a few hours to sleep.Have a wonderful Day and again...."Merry Christmas to All".

Love & Hugs,

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! The coffee is on, the lights are all lit up, and am having a cup of coffee before getting dressed and everyone gets here for the "gifts opening". Can't wait to watch my grandkids open theres, it's always fun to watch them. We always wait for everyone to get here to open our stockings, but this year hubby says I get to open mine before anyone comes. Hmmmm .... sounds good to me.

SHERRY: I really don't blame you for feeling the way you do, especially since you heard what your MIL said. I always try to give even to my kids and spouses - my DIL always tells me I am way too generous! lol ....... If I was to give something a little extra to one family and not the other, I would do it on the side, when no one else was around but like I said, I always try to be even with everyone. I'm sure I spend a lot more on the grandkids, but that goes without saying! LOL

EVERYONE: I hope you all have a merry and blessed day today! Don't worry about your eating - tomorrow is a new day and we'll all get strict and we'll lose our wt in 2002! WE CAN DO IT!

So, I'm off to get ready for the day ... lOVE you all! Have a wonderful day.

Love, CJ

Well, it's December 26th and I've already got the post-holiday blues. :( I wanted sooooo badly to stay in bed this morning but here I am at work. Oh, it's going to be a looonnnggg couple of days.

Christmas was great but I ATE TOO MUCH!!!! What a surprise, eh? I have to say that I did better than I would have in past years but it's not going to be any consolation when I get on the scale for Saturday's weigh-in. Guess I have to start thinking about new year's resolutions. Hmmm, idea for a new thread there??? ;)

I swore I'd get up a little early and get on the treadmill before the morning shower and I was even awake early ... but just couldn't get my butt out of bed, even with Coach Rich poking at me and trying to get me moving. But it was dark and cold and I just couldn't do it. Grumble.

We did go out to Home Depot on Monday to look at doors and cabinets, etc. Latest plan is to not only knock out the wall between the kitchen and dining room but also close up the kitchen door and put french doors in the dining room. Oh I see lots of dust and noise in the near future. Maybe cleaning and organizing and throwing stuff away, etc. will keep me occupied and keep my hands out of the proverbial cookie jar???? One can only hope. It's amazing how much trouble I can get into even in an ugly torn-up gutted kitchen!!

I hope you all had a great Christmas!! Our actual Christmas Day was nice and quiet with a little turkey and lots of veggies and, unfortunately, plenty of chocolate and leftover cookies (both of which are now sitting in the cafeteria for OTHER PEOPLE to eat). Now if I can only keep myself out of the cafeteria....

Congrats to those of you (Peggy ;) ) who made your Christmas challenges!! Start thinking about New Year's resolutions now.... Another thread could appear soon. :s: Anyone want to do the honors? Queen CJ maybe????

Much love to you all.
Jo.

Hi Ladies!!

We all here had a good Christmas. My sister is in town from Virginia and we all spent Christmas Eve at my other sister's place. It was so nice. Christmas Day was at my house and I cooked up a storm. I took my mother out of the nursing home on Christmas Eve and she spent the night. Poor Mom. She kept me on my toes. She is so very confused. I let her sleep in my bed and I slept on the couch. Well...during the night.....I heard the front door open, I thought it was my daughter Ellen coming home from midnight mass with her boyfriend. The door wasn't shuting and it was getting cold in the house so I decided to get up and investigate. Thank God I did! It was poor Mom outside!!!! With just her little P.J.s on and no shoes......she was looking for her room wandering around. Oh my God........Got her little butt back into the house....and then Ellen came home and we had to barracade the doors so she wouldn't slip out at night. She wandering all night and sleeps during the day!!! My poor mother, I want her back. I ended up going back into bed with her, but I couldn't sleep because she kept on keeping up and walking around. I was afraid that she would get outside somehow. But....that will be the last time for overnighters. Papa (Sharon's dad) and brother were over for Christmas. Sometimes he get confused too, but nothing like my mother. Poor Papa, I hope that he will get better. He was looking peaked. Probably just tired from the hospital and all. Made 3 appointments for him for doctors that I will have to be taking him to. I guess that I am "the one" since Sharon and her brother live out of town. I would do anything for Rick's Dad. Boy, I am sure rumbling today.

Haven't started my reducing diet yet. I figure I might as well wait until the new year starts. Everyone keeps coming here with food to eat and all. Will really get serious after that.

You all sure are doing so well with it. Please, help me and rub some off it on me!

SHERRY - Thanks for the kinds words! ((Sherry)) Husbands always seem to sneak in those kinds of Christmas presents don't they? Hope that you enjoy your new floor!

CJ - Hope that you had a good Christmas with your grandchildren. I know that you enjoy them so. Good work on your weight loss CJ!!

Oppss.. I accidently hit the wrong key....thank God I didn't lose what I typed so far.

JELLO - I drove thru Pennsylvania when I drove down to Virginia to visit my sister for Thanksgiving. I thought you. Too bad I didn't know where you lived. I would of dropped by. Good job on your weight loss. You must be almost there.

SHARON - Where are you girlfriend???

I checked out the website and my name is gone from current members!!! Oh boy......I have been bad! LOL Guess that I will have to start posting to get my name back up there!!:o

Hope that everyone has a happy and safe new year. Starting tomorrow I will be working more just before school starts up again to make some extra money. Have to run....have lots to do!!

Love you all, Chrissy

Good morning all! Well, it looks good anyway. It's bright and sunny and not a cloud in the sky. Now if it were only about 40 degrees warmer!! Darn cold in these parts! And Rich physically shoved me out of bed and stood me on the treadmill this morning. Pretty funny actually. He told me I had to do 5 minutes. That's all. Actually I did 8! Whoopie! Took 8 minutes to do a quarter of a mile. Never did actually wake up. But OK, I admit I do feel better for having done it.

Sherry!!! Me too! Got Home Depot cards from my sister, one of my brothers, my parents and I gave some to Rich. Should come in very handy I think! Especially since this kitchen project seems to be growing and growing in front of our eyes! Latest plan is knocking out the wall, putting in a breakfast bar, closing up the little kitchen door and installing patio doors in the dining room. And that's not including cutting the door from the kitchen to Rich's new workshop (formerly the garage). :dizzy: For the record .... YIKES!!!!!

Chrissy, wish I had known you were passing through!!! Still, I live just north of Philadelphia which is about as far east and south as you can get and still be in PA. Look out for Jo's lack of geographical knowledge here .... I don't know how close you would have come to me. PA's a very wide state. That much I do know.

Speaking of very wide ... so am I!!! :( Still trying to undo the damage I did over the holidays. Know what I had for dinner last night. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, yams.... What else!? It was sooo good but I probably ate too much of it. I think part of my new year's resolution in the weight loss area will be better portion control.

Sam, how did Charlie's Christmas go? Bet it was wonderful. Love to watch children at this time of year. :) Actually, love to just be a big kid this time of year!!

Well, I should go. Boss wasn't in yesterday and is making up for it today. He thinks just because he didn't work yesterday, that means I didn't either or something. Humph! Next year, I'm taking the whole week off I think. That'll show him!

Hope you all have a good one!
Much love, Jo.

Hi everyone! Just stopping in to say HELLO!

I go back to work tomarrow. It has been sssssssooooooo nice not cooking for everyone. Not that I don't like to, it just seems the customers (not all of them) have taken cranky pills. No matter how fast you try to get their food to them it isn't fast enough. Most of the time it takes about 5 min. to get your food. During a busy time it could take 10 to 15 min. We get back to back lg fries or 2or 3 large fries it slows down the time. We only have 2 fryers. we are also just a ;snack bar. We do ;our best!

Well, my hubby wants to use the computer so will talk to all later take care. Mary Kay

TGIF!!!! Yeah, I know it was a short week but it feels so long. Know what I did last night? Took down most of the Christmas decorations. I didn't mean to. I was just trying to get some of the stuff out of the way and got carried away. It's amazing how much work we women can get done when the men are not home, ain't it? ;)

Didn't get on the treadmill last night and just couldn't do it this morning. I did however make a new year's resolution to set my alarm 15 minutes earlier and start doing just 10-15 minutes in the morning before my shower. I think it's psychological that I just need a fresh start in a fresh new year.

I even sat down yesterday and calculated how long it would take to get to my goal and how much I could REALISTICALLY (that's the key!) expect to lose each week, etc. I'm still working out details such as when holidays are, what weeks I'll have my period, etc. As you can tell, I'm a "planner". The trick is always sticking to the plan!!

I broke down and got on the scale this morning. I'm not going to be a happy camper at weigh-in tomorrow but I will go and face the music. I'm hoping the holidays were my "last hoorah" and now I can get serious about my weight loss efforts. I do however need a plan of some kind for the VFW new years party next Monday night. Hmm.....

OK, I've rambled on long enough with this me me me post. Time to get to work now. Hope you all have a good one!

Much love, Jo.

Hello Ladies, Well it's over and real life can begin again. I know I sound old and cranky but is not this holiday a lot of work to be over in an hour? Maybe it's just a mood I'm in. I love getting ready for Christmas and I try to plan ahead but the last days before are enough to send me over the edge! I'm sorry to be such a bummer, I will change my attitude right now.

Hello Ladies this is the new and improved Carolyn,
I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and spent it with the ones you love. I hope you did not over spend or over eat.

Okay that's as nice as I can be and I almost choked on it. I over spent and I over ate. In a few days it will be a new year and we can begin again. I am taking down my Christmas decorations as we speak. I like to have a few days of normalacy before going back to work. Everything does look kind of bland with all that color gone.

For those of you who have known me for awhile, I continue to go to exercise daily especially the aquasize class. It is great and a real work-out with a special group of people. I never thought I would enjoy exercise so much. Jo, can you believe I said that. I think you are rubbing off on me.

My WW class meets on Tuesday so we are missing 2 weeks of classes. I am trying to recover this week so when we return the scale won't be so awful. Let's just make up our minds that it's been Christmas and now it's time to buckle down and get serious about what we eat.

Going to go finish my tree, now that I've vented here, I feel better. Happy New Year to you all, may each of us have good health and peace.......Love, Carolyn

Hello everyone,

I just want to update you guys on all that has been going on. Thanks CJ for filling everyone in and letting the Thinsters know about Papa.

Ken and I got up the day before yesterday Wednesday, and decided to jump in the car and go to Florida-he is on vacation for the holidays- to see our daughter, Tracy, the one in the Air Force stationed at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach. She wasn't able to come home this year, couldn't get off cause her boss had the whole 2 week holiday off so it just wasn't the same without her so this is what we did. We came home from Michigan just in time for Christmas Eve to spend it with the other 3 kids. But decided we wanted to spend New Years with Tracy here in Florida. It is a 12 hr trip so we decided to drive half way and spend a night in a hotel in Tennesee so the next day we wouldn't have so far to drive.

We didn't tell her we were coming this time, just showed up at her other job at the mall at Victoria's Secret. Had another girl call her over and when she did we jumped up from behind a rack of robes. LOL Man was she ever surprised, she just started screaming and laughing and said she was sooooo happy that she could spend New Years with us. The other good thing is that we were able to go to her ceremony at the base and see her get her 4th stripe as Staff Sargent. So that was so nice to be there to see her get her get the stripe and to take her oath. It was a pretty big to-do with many NCO's and officers there. They had a reception afterwards which was nice. So now we have been able to be at both her Leadership Graduation as well as this ceremony too. So were again proud to be there for her and we were mentioned by the presenting Colonel as surprising her and driving in from Indiana. Funny thing is that we didn't even know that she was going to have this, as all she said to us was that she gets to sew on her new stripe on Jan 1st so we were pleased that we came just in time. I guess she didn't think we would be able to come this time. She also said it was orginially soppose to be on New Years Eve and it was put back to today, December 28th because too many wouldn't be able to come on New Years Eve. So again we were pretty proud parents to be able to see this milestone in her life. We are just glad we are able to be with her on this holiday. Not sure when we are going back to Indiana just yet. But we will just play it by ear like we did when we came. LOL

My Dad, Papa is doing good so far. I am calling him everyday to see if he is taking all his medication and eating right ect. He is on a triple antiobotic medication of Prevacid, Bioxin and Amoxycillin. They are trying this first in hopes that the tumor will shrink. The doctors said the surgeons wanted to take over half his stomach out so Chrissy and I said that we wanted a second opinion so they called in a onocologist and he said he didn't want Dad to have this surgery and instead wanted to try this first. He said we can always do some light chemo if the tumor doesn't respond to the medication. Thank God for second opinions, I recommend it. I can't believe the surgeons just want to do all that to him without trying medication first. He has what is called MALT which is a low grade cancer and a bacterial infection and we are hoping that he responds to the antiobiotic and that there isn't another worse form of cancer under the tumor. He is not out of the woods yet, and we don't know what lies ahead, but we are trying to be optimistic at this point and hope for the best. We will see when they do another scope of his stomach, which Chrissy is taking him to the hospital for. Pray for good news all of you's. Thanks guys!

My sister in law, Chrissy has been a Godsend for us. She is taking Dad to his doctors appointment, his next scope procedure. Ken and I went out and got Dad a big pill box with compartments for one week-4 doses a day if needed, for AM, Noon, PM and Bedtime meds. He takes his meds either 2 or 3 in some cases a day and this way he won't be confused. He also when he is done with a dose keeps the plastic lid for that dose up so he knows which dose he took last. It works pretty good so far. Chrissy is a nurse and will come over to Dad's and fill his medication box when needed so he won't run out. I just want to say a special thanks to Chrissy. It was wonderful seeing you and Emily and Ellen again and just being with you guys. You made things so much easier for me while I was there, just to have you there with me at the hospital. THANKS CHRISSY, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH YOU AND THE GIRLS ARE DOING FOR OUR FAMILY! YOU GIVE SO UNSELFISHLY OF YOURSELFS. KEN AND I LOVED SPENDING TIME WITH YOU AND MY NIECES EM AND EL. I LOVE YOU ALL!

Anyways, it is getting pretty late and I am so tired so I will post again and address you individually soon. Hope everyone's Christmas went well and you have a Happy New Year!

Talk to you later and thanks for all your support with my Papa. You guys are a wonderful source of strength for me, what would I do without you? I love each one of you's so much!

Love you, Sharon

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive. Haven't had a phone since around the beginning of Nov. and just got it back yesterday.

I guess Christmas was okay. We all three were sick. Took Chad to the hospital Sun. afternoon as he was vomitting, etc since early that morning. He couldn't keep anything on his stomach for more than a few seconds, even sips of water. He got a shot for the vomitting, and slept the rest of the day, all night, and half of Christmas eve.

I ran a fever btwn 100.8 to 101.1 (high for me) all Sunday evening, and night. Then had the pleasure of catching Hannah's cold. Was so nauseated for the last three days of so, that I hadn't been eating much. Reminds me of my morning sickness I had with Hannah. Fine one minute, next so nauseated I couldn't move (NO, NOT PREG.--I think btwn his vasectomy and my birth control, which is for "female probs", it would have to be impossible), and then fine again, but no appitite. I wonder if that's what's going on with Hannah.

Hannah, as I mentioned above, has a cold, and touch of other things I really don't want to type :^: :o Anyway, she has had hardly any appitite going on a month now. The beginning of Dec. had some kind of virus where she didn't eat, and just all around didn't feel good. Now to get a cold, and the flu again. She's not losing weight, though, and cont to drink water, juice, and milk--and my pop if I don't watch her. Maybe she has just decided to be a picky eater. Isn't that a normal 2 yr old and I've just been lucky up to now??

Going to go. Will check back in again in a few days.

Kim

Just checking in quick ... I hope. My 'net connection at home is sooooo slow. Know what I've been doing all day? Throwing out (as in packing for the Salvation Army) old clothes. I've been dumping EVERYTHING. Poor Rich can finally have some of his closet space back! I'm thowing out all the size 14 jeans and anything that's even remotely loose on me. I'm also throwing out all the (oooh, this is embarrassing :o ) all the underall type garments. That is the body shapers and things like that (used to be called "girdles" I believe). New Year, here I come. I'm not slipping back into my old habits and weight. If I did now, I'd have to do it naked!!! No one wants to see that.

Weighed in on Saturday with a 2 lb. gain. Quite a yo-yo I've been on these days. But that's all going to end on Tuesday!!! That's it. After one last hurrah at the New Years party Monday night (and I'm still hoping it won't be too bad) I'm going straight. I'm so tired of being FAT!!!!

I have to run. I had to link onto the internet through the company's link so I don't want to stay on too long. I wish you all a VERY HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR!!!! Hi to Sandi and KimV!! Glad to hear from you guys again. And Sharon, sounds like a great trip to see your daughter. Glad your dad's doing so well! And we all love Chrissy too!!

Have to run. Much love to you all!
Jo.

Hello Friends....

I'm so tired but wanted to post before I hit the bed!

I'm off from work (School) for two weeks (we go back Wednesday) and I feel like I haven't had one free day.Need to go back to rest up!

I ALSO work for the Titans (pro-football).I'm a private suite attendant. Well anyways, I worked the Music City Bowl Friday and today was a ballgame (Titans vs.Browns). With these ballgames, private parties and Christmas things going on.....I'm WORN OUT!! :( Now how come I'm not skinny????? LOL!!

Sharon.......... I read your post TWICE!! I got chill bumps both times! I think the "Spur of the Moment" trips are the BEST!! I truly believe that it was a message from God telling you to go! I'm so happy that you were able to be there with Tracy when she had her ceremony!! I KNOW that you were so proud of her. It sounds like you've done a wonderful job on Motherhood.This is a time (and a time in Tracy's life) that you'll NEVER FORGET! I just got through reading your letter.Yes....I miss you so much too! Have a safe trip home tomorrow and rest up. We'll talk when you get home!!!:) {{{{{ SHARON }}}}}

CJ......... I'm geting worried about you! Are you still running?? LOL!! (just HAD to ask!) Get your butt back here soon! I'm going to need you so bad on the 1st when I start this "loosing weight thing!" I will weigh on Tuesday morning and start with a new weight.I really feel strong this time and think I can do it! I'm so tired of pulling off my pants only to find RED MARKS!! I need to lose & feel better about myself. You know you've gained when you can't wait to get home & get your gown on so you can be comfortable. Again.. I miss ya!!

Jo.......... I agree with you! The New Year will be good to us! We WILL reach our goals! Good for you on getting rid of those "too big" clothes!!! I wished my 14's was TOO BIG!! But you know what? They WILL BE SOON!! BTW.....How much do you weigh & how much do you want to lose?

Kim...... I hope that you, Chad & Hannah are feeling better. It's rough to be sick...let a lone during the Holidays.Yes...2 yr.olds can be such picky eaters.I remember the Doctor telling me when Drew was little that he'll eat when he gets hungry and don't worry. All he wanted was fruit loops!!! I thought he would turn into all those different colors from eating it 24-7!!! Take Care and let us know how ya'll are.

Carolyn...... I know exactly how you feel! It's such hard work to dcorate the house, shop for all the gifts, bake, cook, wrap and keep everything clean along the way to only have it over with in 20 minutes!! THEN.......put it ALL back up!! I have always thought that it was so wonderful to hear other woman say that their hubby helps them. Don't get me wrong....I have a GREAT hubby but he doesn't help much. But he sure does want it all decorated!! It's all over....smile......and let's have a GREAT YEAR on loosing!!! Sound good????!! :)

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

Well, 2001 was onehellofayear wasn't it? 2002 couldn't possibly be anywhere near as bad! It's time for me to renew old friendships and make new ones. Anyone out there want a fat old grandma for a friend? haha

My daughter called me a couple days before Thanksgiving and asked if she could come back home. I welcomed her back, half frozen and hadn't eaten in days. I bought her a car so she could get a job and start over again. She was here just long enough to find somewhere else to stay, now she's gone again! Don't know where she gets the money for gas or cigarettes 'cause I'm sure not giving her any. I know where she is now though, so I can at least know she's alive.

My grandaughter is still in Houston and doing great! Her science project was one of seven chosen to represent the city of Houston in a Texas state competition. She is an honor student, and was also chosen to go to a citywide scolastic competition for her school. Do I sound like a proud grandma? You bet I do! My son and DIL are being wonderful parents to her and to their baby Kaitlyn (who, by the way, is a year old already!)

My Calvin has been dead for 3 1/2 months already. I miss him so much. On Christmas day I finally broke down and cried my eyes out! There had been so much stress and worry all year long, all of a sudden the dam broke and I didn't think I was ever going to stop! I know he would want me to get on with my life so that's what I'm gonna do! Starting RIGHT NOW!

It's Jan. 1, 2002, time for resolutions! Each year I have resolved to lose weight, and I DID for the first month or so, then I gained it back and got discouraged, and then gave up! This is my third year here and I'm only seven pounds less than when I first started posting with The Thin Group. This year I'm resolving to get up and move! I'm calling on all of you for daily buttkicks to jump-start me every day!

CJ, you can start me today at 263 lbs. (GOD! I hate the sound of that!) I don't know what happened to our 60 lbs. off by age 60 challange. I'll be 60 next month so I know I'll never make it! Maybe in another year? Gotta keep trying! I have thought about joining Weight Watcher's but I saw an ad on TV yesterday saying it costs $20. just to join! And how much each week just to weigh in? A little rich for my budget!

I haven't even been here to read the posts for a month or so. Please forgive me for staying away for the holidays, I just wasn't fit company for anyone. But I'm here today and for me that's whats important. You can just consider me a new person starting the new year with all of you!

Just one comment before I go, JO the problem you have when you blow your nose..................It also happens to me when I laugh, or sneeze, or cough! hehe

Hugs, Judy

Hi everyone. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Got back from our trip last night - complete with a cold and the flu, so I went straight to bed. Yep, New Year's Eve I was in bed at 4:00 pm. That darn fireworks woke me up at 8:30 and again at midnight. Hum bug.

Our holday was great. We were able to spend Christmas with our daughter and grandchildren...the sil too. One of our grandaughters is 2 1/2, so it was wonderful to spend Christmas with her when she understands about it.

We had our son's dog with us - you remember, the one that he 'forgot' when he moved out. Well, the morning after we arrived in Swift Current, the monster dog ran away. We finally had to call our son in Winnipeg and tell him that we would be arriving without the dog. I was heartbroken, even though he is such a pest. However, he came home on Christmas Eve. Couldn't believe that he had weathered 2 nights at -27 degrees. No frostbite or anything. I think that scared him a bit. He stuck pretty close after that. We did get him delivered to our son and thankfully do not have the responsibility anymore.

About 10 minutes after the dog came home, got a call to say that mom had gone in the hospital. It is hard to manage a parent in hospital from a distance. Fortunately, one of our sons had stayed home, so was able to run interference. My mom is 81 and still lives in her own home by herself. I feel she is not well enough to be living alone, but she is stubborn and thinks she needs her independence. Now that we have raised our kids and we are feeling a little bit of freedom, it is time to look after aging parents who behave just like teenagers.

Judy - My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Celebrating the first Christmas without Calvin is so difficult. I have no idea how that would be, and can only imagine how lonely you were on Christmad Day. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Isn't it wonderful that your granddaughter is doing so well. You should be proud of her and also of your son and dil for raising her with some stability in her life. At least that is not as great a worry as it could be.

Jo - I'm back. This is notice - back OP tomorrow. We have to get that weight off at the beginning of the year. I have 20 pounds left to lose. How about you?

Kim - Good to hear that your Christmas celebrations were fun. Hope Hannah is feeling better soon.

Sharon - It sounds like you had a very busy holiday season. What a wonderful thing to surprise your daughter. It couldn't have worked out any better for you. It is also good to hear that your dad is doing better. Still praying that the results of his tests come back well and that there are no complicaitons.

Well, this has been a post without the mention of anything in the weight loss category. It's because I have nothing to report. WI is tomorrow and I am hoping that I have maitained my weight over the holidays. If I can rely on my scale at home, it will be close to maintaining. Wish me well on the WI tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Bye,

CH

It's a new year!!! Reading the posts tells me that there are others, besides myself, who are going to be getting serious about the pounds that have jumped on us in the last 2 weeks. Once again, we can do it together. I hope everyone will try to check in at least once a week, if not more. I hope I will do it also.

New Year's Eve was spent with friends but I have to admit I was home by 11:00 pm. We had a great meal together and this afternoon some of us spent playing dominoes. We are hooked on that game.

Hope everyones holiday was as great. What would we do without friends.

Starting right now we are all on plan for the month. Right????
I know I will be.

Judy, I thought about you during the holidays. I can't imagine how lonely you were but I am praying that God will ease your burden soon. Cal would want you to get on with your life.

I will check back in soon and hope to have good news about my weight lost. (hoping there is one)

HELLO THINSTERS!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well my Christmas was just lovely! My MIL decided not to come to dinner (she's njot good with people) and my SIL couldn't make it because of the bushfires, but nonetheless a lvoely day was had by all. Charlie did really well - like she got half a toy store - but also she wasn't too bad at unwrapping, well at least pulling the paper until a bit came off that she could eat. LOL. And her favourite present? A toothbrush. Gosh kids are funny...

We went down the coast for a few days and it was nice. I get a bit stressed there though, hard with 6 people in a van including a baby and everyone just wants to sit around and do nothing. I'm not good at that! :) We also went out to dinner at a buffet on Friday and we let Charlotte feed herself for the first time. My gosh what a MESS! It was so funny, I just picked her up under the arms and carried her with my arms out to the parents room and stripped her and put new clothes on. THEN she could have a hug.

We had a party at our house on New Years. It was good except people vomitted everywhere, including our loungeroom. Gross! You'd think by mid twenties people would be able to handle their alcohol or at least puke in a messy garden bed! I stayed sober enough to jump on my bike at half after midnight and cycle to bf's Mums whre Charlie was for the night and give her a feed and a kiss. I then went home and had a few champagnes! Yesterday we cleaned for ages, we only had like a dozen or so people over, but what a mess! Then we relaxed and today I'm back at work.

Okay, messages.

Jo - Only two pounds? You are so Miss Dramatic - I was expecting far more than that from your posts! LOL It will be gone very quickly I'm sure.

Judy - I'd love to have a fat old Grandma as a friend, how about you - fancy a chubby young Mum for one? :)

Sherry - You are absolutely right, I love the Ya'll. He he..

Chrissy - You sound like you are really heling your family out. What a sweetheart you are. Glad your Dad is doing better.

Sassy - Same to you re your Papa. And how wonderful that you got to see Tracy get her stripe! She sounds like she's doing really, really well in her career!

Okay, well I should do some more work. 7 weeks of fulltime work til I get made redundant. After being at home with my darling girl for a week, I don't htink I'm going to mind too much. Now just need to find a part-time job waitressing or something. Any ideas?

Love to all. Oh and re the scale, I think it's about the same (hope so!), but I'll see tomorrow when I weigh. Couldn't face it today!
Sam
