Stuffed cabbage rolls..phase2
I made this the other night and it turned out delecious..in my opinion of course.
1lb of ground turkey,(or chicken)
1chopped onion
some chopped celery
salt /pepper
1egg
1/2c,or more of cooked brown rice (not the instant rice, the real rice with the fiber in it)
1 can of cut up tomatoes
1 can of tomato soup
mix turkey w/ingredients as you would a meatloaf
wrap into cabbage leaves..that have been steamed so they open easier..
secure with a toothpic
spray bottom of nice size pot
add cab.rolls...(i also chunk up any extra cabbage and lay on top)
pour on 1 can of chopped tomatoes, and 1can of tomato soup..with a smig of water as needed.
Cover, and simmer on a low to med-low heat..your almost steaming this.
Go about your business, but keep a eye,and make sure there is enough water to create a steam for the meat/cabbage to cook
If you have a man around,he may/or not want a starch with this..a nuked potato is easy and great with the red sauce.
Great the next day..
and almost is as good as my 'real' one with meat, and mash.
