Default Ten percent!

I made ten percent yesterday weighing in at 236.5, started at 264.5 on April 19th. 28 lbs gone in 12 weeks. I feel great. My glucose levels have been MUCH better now that I am taking care of myself. I could do better eating-wise at home, but even that is a big improvement on before.

The contest scale at work: I started at 267.5 on 4-19 with that scale and today it had me at 241.5 so down 26 lbs. I don't think I won as far as percentage goes, but I do feel I lost the most pounds out of our group. The woman in charge of the contest wants us to weigh in once a month for accountability purposes. I'm thinking about it as I don't care for her much and I'd have to talk to her more then.

I've already listed my next 10% and am hoping to meet that by Aug 29 before we go to camp.

Way to go, cmbmom05!! Studies show that losing 10% gives you some great health benefits, and it sounds like that's what's happening with you. Congratulations!

I sure hope that 10% made a good difference. I am diabetic and have an appointment with my Dr on the 19th to recheck my a1c. My levels have been much better than before and I'm really hoping that they went down a good amount. I've noticed that while my blood pressure was borderline high-noraml before, it's now just normal and that's great. The only thing I have left to worry about is my liver levels as they were elevated last time (fatty liver or HepC since I have tats/piercings) and my cholesterol. I hear too many stories about us ladies losing weight and then having our cholesterol levels go up.(it was fine last time) Ugh. I've been eating plenty of fiber and watching the sat. fat. and cho. in food so I may be good.

Thanks for the warm replies!

I noticed that you are only 8 lbs from goal. Fantastic job yourself!

Great job! 10% is great and it's supposed to be the "magic" number that really helps with blood sugar. Hope you get a good report from your doc.
