Default Finishing Up the Week Friday!

Good morning, time to get up and enjoy the best day of the week - it's FRIDAY!

We had a lot of storms come through overnight that got rid of the humidity and cooled things off, and the weekend is supposed to be a beaut! That will make being outdoors a lot more tolerable. Today is the girls' last day of Hunt Camp, and they're putting on a demonstration show with the hounds this morning, followed by a picnic and swim party afterwards. We may get rained out, but we'll see.

What's going on in your part of the world today?

ONE MORE SLEEP TIL VACAATION TWO MORE SLEEPS TIL NASCAR. I am a little excited can you tell. I don't think I need caffine today. I have the laundry started and need to make my last todo list. Then make a note for my mom for the fridge pack the car and I am out of here.

Cottage- Hope the girls enjoyed camp and they don't get rained out for the demonstration show. That would be sad. We have a breezy sunny day here, I hope it stays that way.

Well gotta to dash and get the day started. I will pop back in later.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I had my pedicure tonight and it was soooooo nice! The best $15 I ever spent. YES! FIFTEEN DOLLARS. It's almost losing money to NOT go! This may just end up being my reward for every goal I set!

Tom got home early from work so I headed on base early and hit the gym. I ran five miles, thanks to Megan's cool phone number trick! I was so proud of myself, and it was a great workout!

Off to get my spaghetti sauce-covered baby in the bath.

L.C. ~ I may be up in your area in August, we're talking about a trip up to Nova Scotia and the Bay of Fundy. Have a great vacation, my DD and SIL will be in NH next week, too. They're staying at a B&B in the White Mts.

Kara ~ $15 for a pedicure is a steal! At that rate I'd schedule one monthly.

I'm off to Curves for my Weight & Measure. Wish me luck!

Little Chick, ENJOY your vacation! I know how hard you work and you deserve it.

Kara, I may have missed this but what the heck is the telephone trick?

Cottage, I'm so glad you cooled off. Yesterday was on the edge of being uncomfortable but today looks wonderful! Hunt camp! That sounds wonderful.

I survived the dinner at The Mill last night. The food was not very good so was easy to resist and the wine was terrible! I did meet some interesting people, however.

The big news is that our area has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO! This will make a huge difference - now we'll have ALL of PA up here in the summer rather than just half. It's ironic that something built to keep us safe from the USA is now a big American tourist attraction! It is really a gorgeous part of the world and this will bring more visitors to the area.

After the gym this morning, I have a bit of Music Festival running around to do and hope to get some gardening worked in too. The weekend will be really busy with the Festival so don't worry if I'm not around much.

Better get the butt in gear and eat something before I go to the gym. Have a great Friday!

Oh, Megan told me that she uses her phone number on the treadmill. So I tried it and it was so much fun! I used the numbers in my phone number as minutes to go a certain speed - I went 6.5 mph for 8 minutes and then 6.0 mph for 5 minutes and then 6.5 mph for 6 minutes and so on. I ended up doing just over five miles in 48 minutes! Yea for me!

Happy Friday all!

Cottage, Hunt Club sounds so much fun! What does the hound exhibition involve? And how's the knee doing? Has it scabbed over yet? The worst part of scabby knees is that they get so stiff...

LC, I second Shatzi's sentiments, Have Fun! Isn't it amazing we have to do so much in preparation to relax?

Ruth, glad the 1840 party went well, and that you were able to resist temptation!

Kara, $15 pedicures? WOW! What color did you choose for your purty nails?

Kim_Star, since I missed you cross-posting yesterday, a special Happy Friday to you!

me, I've developed a mango addiction lately. They're 2 for $1 at the grocery store, and I've been buying them like a crazy person. I'm just about to make my upteen millionth mango smoothie this month for breakfast. One of my coworkers joked that the trunk of my car must be stuffed with mangos...Seriously, it's a sickness.

Web site going well. As soon as it's finished, I'll post the link.

Off to scratch my mango itch...

Mangoes are yummy. I concur!

I chose a rosey pink color. It's pretty, indeed. They had the chair with the massagers and I seriously almost fell asleep.

I lost 5 1/2 lbs and several inches in the last month! I guess staying clear of ice cream is the big secret to success for me.

Ruth I'm going to be one of those "PA tourists" one of these days, your village is so pretty! It seems to be the "happening" place!

Schatzi I hope you're enjoying your morning cup! Oh yes, we just have to get together next time you come up! Watch out, world!!

Betty, my knee is still stiff and sore, and my thigh is black & blue, too. Thanks for asking! At Hunt Camp, the kids learn how to give commands to the hounds and teach them how to point, etc. It's serious business.

Looks like we're going to get rained out. We have a steady drizzle going on right now. I'll have to dig into my bag of tricks and find something fun for us to do today.

Good Morning Chickens! Just a quick visit today. I've got a lengthy to-do list this morning starting with 2 hours of work and I'm supposed to be ready to go at noon! Have I even thought about packing yet? Not a chance! I'll be off the beach for a few days because I'm going to ... the beach! Wouldya watch my towel and move it if the tide comes up? Actually I've got a dilemma. I've got a height and bridge phobia, and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge really does me in, panic attacks, etc. Funny, because I grew up next to it and never had a problem until I had a panic attack up there about 10 years ago. It got worse and worse until I finally had to give up trying to drive it myself. If you're not familiar with the bridge, it's three miles long and very high. Anyway, my mother, grandmother, me, and my kids are going, and will be taking my van. My mother will drive the bridge. Then my Dad decides we need an escort, so he's bringing another car and informed me last night that he will take me across the bridge in his car. My Dad is very sweet, 76 years old, and really his driving is getting a little scary. So now I'm really stressing trying to figure out how I can go over with my mom without hurting his feelings. What a drama queen, eh? My heart is pounding right now at the thought.
Anyhoo... I'll be glad and have a great time once I get there alive.

Cottage - you actually just pushed the humidity down this way! I went out to water the tomatoes and put out the trash and came in dripping wet. Take it back!
Chick - have a great vaca!
Kara - What color are your toenails? I have to admit I've never had a pedicure. I'm not crazy at the thought of people touching my feet. Okay, another wierd phobia!
Betty - I haven't tried mangoes. I'll put it on my list next week at the store.
Everyone else, happy Friday and have a great weekend and holiday.

Schmoodle you can pay drivers to drive you across the bridge.... they have services for that now. the Bay bridge does not bother me at all.

the holland tunnel in NY makes me nuts.
